Thank you for showing the difference! That’s so important. You’ve given me an idea on what’s going to happen if I thin my wig. Thank you also for the how-to’s and tips.
Aww thanks, I’m happy I could help. If you have a topic or something else you need help on, please share and maybe it’s something I could do a video on 👍🏻😁🌺
Bless you too dear lady! I bought 2 wigs and have needed this advice for both of them! I am quite excited now that I might actually get to wear them! xxx
thank you so much! i had short thin reddish hair kind of pixie style before i started losing hair and started with wigs. most short reddish wigs look just like helmets on me to me! now i know what i can have to hand and can do to try and improve them. hope returns!
I would also look at styles that have a mono part or mono top versus a basic Wefted top which doesn’t have so much pre-tease . Let me know if I can help on finding a style you really like 👍
@@wigsbydana3702 thank you! i had discovered that permatease makes it much more difficult to change the helmet style, no matter how dense the wig overall. I'm mostly buying second-hand wigs, as per my budgeting, I've only got about 200£ to spend on wig in a year (i grew up in nj, but live in england). i have a few part mono and one mono crown i think i can focus on for now, with my new knowledge! my best wig out of the box so far has been the disc, ellen wille. i miss the bit of wave of my bio hair and it's a little too dense.
It was Angelic by Jon Renau - basic cap construction. Not sure if I still have, once I use wigs for videos I usually discount them heavily since I consider them open box. But since I cut that one I believe I just donated to someone.
I appreciate your instruction on thinning a straight-hair wig. I have a straight-hair wig that needs thinning at the top. I'm currently waiting for an instructional video to appear on RUclips about removing excessive volume on a synthetic curly bob wig. The wig that I recently received from Amazon is a Vivica A Fox, Oprah-5. Even though it's a high-density wig, it looks great on top but heavy on the sides. It makes me look like a Muppet character. 😄 My fine naturally curly hair used to have volume. Ever since I turned 60, my hair has become thin and no longer grows back fast enough. 🫤
I would caution on this…. The main thing you don’t want to do with synthetic hair when cutting is pull or stretch the fiber, which can make it kink up. Think of a ribbon at Christmas…when you stretch and pull on it, it then curls up. I like to point cut most of the time.
Hi ,, I have the wig Stevie by Amore and I bought it because it looked very low density. But when I got the wig lol it has a lot of hair! It almost feels like it makes me look like I have a blockhead! So my question is. Can you thin it out on top where the monofilament is because it seems like that’s where all the volume is coming from. Thanks Dee
I wouldn’t recommend thinning directly on the top. Keep in mind that the hair is hand tied in and has two ends. It may be time consuming, but you could tweeze out a little, so that you could pull the whole strand out. That way you don’t have short pieces sticking up.
You may want to look at the Ellen Wille Brand, which has Low Density. For instance take a look at Code Mono. This brand is very natural looking and know for being light weight with low density which you would like. 👍🏼

I really like the bangs!!! Airy..... That's how I want all my bangs on my wigs
Point cut works out the best for me
@@wigsbydana3702 same here... I hate blunt bangs.....
Looks so much more natural!!!

@@wigsbydana3702 What is the name of the wig you are wearing in this video. I love it.

tysm! i just got my first wig (although it’s for cosplay and not everyday wear..) and the top part was so poofy it kinda looked like a box
It is most likely a basic cap wig, which means it has pre tease which results in looking poofy.
I have a spot on my wig that has a hard line from the thinning shears, is there anyway to blend that or fix it?
You are amazing thank you for teaching this love you 👏🏻❤️
Simply beautiful, thank you for the tips! Blessings
You are so welcome!.
I like the wispy bangs
Great video!
Thanks for sharing this 🙏💜
Which way are you turning the thinning shears when you cut the bangs? It went off the screen and I couldn’t see them
It can vary. I believe I did in a point cut style
Q?
I cut my synthetic wig with razor comb dry??
