    I am so glad I found this video, I have watched several other ways of thinning wigs, the twist and snip method, the just cut out complete rows of hair at the cap method and some others but this one is by far the best method!! I like my wig so much more now that I have thinned with this method. And by thinning it the wig has a much more natural movement to it!! Thank you so much!

    Thank you so much Patti for this informative video. A new wig arrived yesterday and it looked like Little Orphan Annie..I never so so much hair and curls, not light and thinned out like the picture of the wig was. So..got me some thinning shears and went right to it and thinned the entire front. What a big difference! Now I can wear it and not just stick it back in the wig box and forget about it. Bless you for the time you spend in helping others!

    SO MUCH FUN
    Patti you are so much fun! You a're also very knowledgeable, informative and a great teacher. I just bought my first wig and was scared to death of how to make it look less puffy (looks like the 60s). After watching your video I have a lot more confidence to thin my wig out and I'm not so afraid of the entire "wig" thing. Thanks for teaching us beginners that you can be comfortable with a wig and not afraid to work with it. Thanks for all you do!

    I don't think I've ever made a comment on RUclips but I just have to for this video! I am a new wig wearer, mine fell out due to an autoimmune response. I'm just now starting to find wigs to be 'fun' but I have a smaller head (but not small enough to be petite) and my bio hair was very thin and fine, so my Jon Renau Miranda wig is beautiful but very 'bulky' and unnatural feeling. I've watched several videos but this one was by far the best. Also you're just a joy; I feel like you're a bit of a kindred spirit. So thank you so much kind stranger :)

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Vickie! Patti wears Allure straight out of the box. She just turns it over and gives it a good shake before putting it on. Then she uses the Jon Renau Holding Spray. You will just spray it at the roots then use your fingers to piece the wig into place as to your liking.

    You are awesome Patti Im so happy my husband found your videos.I'm a new wig wearer , i have a wig that seems like real hair in the back and a mix on top and front. 2 problems Im having is from my ears up it has perma tease and I look like the top of my head is to big. Also the wig cap is to long it goes almost down to my collar. Do you have any videos on how to fix these problems?

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  7 лет назад

      Hi Allyson! The permatease issue can't be fixed. You can most likely take up the cap so that it is smaller but we don't offer a video on this because it's such a tedious job. We do offer this service on wigs purchased from us.

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  7 лет назад +1

      You can do this but be sure they are really sharp so that they don't snag and pull the lace. We suggest using pinking shears as they do a better job of keeping the lace in good shape.

    Wigs by Patti's Pearls - Thank you so much for the many informative vlogs about wigs. I'm a recent user of wig. I have a question if u may, can I thin the any style of wigs or just some? I've heard from other vlogger that not all wigs can be thin because it depends to the wig style. I own this Charlie wig by Paula Young... Playful, shag-inspired long wig with feathery, flicked layers, is this the type of wig that is safe to thin or not? Please help! I do not want to ruin this expensive wig and lose the style after deciding to thin it. However, I can't stand wearing a wig "that looks like I am wearing a helmet"... exactly just like what you described! Thank you for ur time! :)

    I have a wig with synthetic hair and no bangs. I tried to comb the hair down to make bangs but the hair springs right back to where it was. How can I get the hair to lay down on the forehead and stay there. The wig has a whitish material that the hairs are attached to plus a lacey netting over that. Hope you can help. Thanks!

      Use a large round brush to pull and hold the bangs down evenly then apply steam with a handheld steamer. It may take a few times but this should do the trick.

    Hi Patti, thanks for your informative videos. Know this is an older video but would you be able to identify the wig and color directly behind you that cannot be seen when you have your back to the wall & are facing the camera but comes into almost full view to the right (looking at the video) of the canvas block Lola is on when you move to the left side? It's like a really light strawberry tinged brown bob and also the wig and color immediately to the right of that one (blond side part few inches longer with with beach waves)? Thanks so much.

      Hi Sherry! Thank you so much❤🥰 Patti is wearing Allure by Jon Renau in 12FS8. It has a traditional wefted cap so it will not be light density. This one is classified as average density and you can expect it to have permatease.

    I have a petite head and small face. Is it no surprise then that the wig I bought is way too full and poofy, even tho at the boutique they 'thinned' it a little. I already removed two rows of wefts but still the wig is so big I feel like my face is hidden somewhere in all that hair. I'm going to try your technique. Wish me luck and a little skill too!

      This insures that you start at the very base of the fiber/hair. When thinning bio hair you don't do this because the scalp is hard so there is no give which makes it easy to start at the root. With a wig, you have it pinned on a mannequin head which has a little give so if you don't push down, you may not be starting right at the root which would give you an uneven job in the root section.
