I absolutely love this woman, Her personality and ability to communicate openly make her the perfect representative for all things positive.
Thank you!
Claudia Allon totally agree!!
Totally agree she is endearing. Love to look at her videos !
Me too
Life saver. I have an autoimmune disease that made my hair so thin, eventually just falling out! I'm in my 30's, always had thick beautiful hair so it was really hard on my self esteem.
I couldn't and can't afford crazy expensive pieces and order moderately priced synthetics online &was so frustrated by how quickly they frizzed with everyday wear. I've tried every RUclips hack out there but THIS is what works everytime!
Thank You 💗
Patti...she's the only antidepressant I've ever used that doesn't have unwanted side effects lol. She is honestly such a joy to me.
Just purchased my first wig. Patti is extremely knowledgeable and is truly helping me through my anxiety. Losing your hair isn't for sissies!
This is some old school! They don't have customer service like that anymore. You can even hear the tape rotating in the old school video camcorder LOL. Very helpful.
HI Patti,
This technique is AWESOME!!! I'm a professional stylist and I've used synthetic wigs and hair pieces in my work for years but I never had a problem with frizzing because the models don't wear them for very long. Then a few years ago I damaged my hair with excessive use of high lift color so I had to cut my long hair to barely two inches of length. I looked so ugly I didn't want leave my house, so I slicked it back with gel, clipped a hair piece on and in minutes it was like it never even happened. People commented on my color being dark again but no one suspected I was wearing a hair piece and I was hooked on wearing hair pieces. You can change your look and be ready to go in minutes and with synthetic hair your style looks great even if it's humid or raining. The only caveat is with frequent wear they frizz in a matter of weeks. So I tried your technique on a very damaged 20 inch piece, (but I used ExpressLocs Revitalizing Conditioner), set it in large pin curls, let it dry over night and results are amazing, it looks brand new! Thank you for sharing this awesome technique and I plan to share it with the incredibly brave women who attend hair and makeup classes I teach for the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program. Through this program volunteer cosmologist help women, who are dealing with the horrific side effects of cancer treatments, regain a sense of self and we also have a lot of fun! This is a nationwide program with many more women who want classes than volunteers to teach them so any licensed cosmetologists or aestheticians who are interested in volunteering please visit the American Cancer Society website or Google Look Good, Feel Better. Thanks again Patti!
Warmest Regards,
Kat
thankyou!
Yes I have a question for a wig I bought....I'm so upset rn bringing my wig home I thought hay I'll comb it out and make it look nice me being stupid used a fine tooth small tight comb and now I got knots and frizz all on one side of the comb its looks like tangled horse hair....will a detangling spray smooth my wig out again!!!? I hope I didnt ruin it...what should I do and I would rather not use a hair straightener or steam on it....sadly it's a very cheap wig like 20$$....I did keep it in a bucket of fabric softener over night but that def didnt make any difference
It worked well but took all the wave out. Is ther a way to get it back?
This is possibly the best video I have ever found. I really have to thank you so much. I have been trying to smooth and fix my synthetic wigs for 13 years (since I lost my hair) and this is truly a blessing. Thank you!!
I just wanted to thank you so much for this tip, I used the Jon Renau HD detangler as on your website, and steamed with my steam iron from about 20 - 30 cm away, my wig was a Raquel Welch which the ends frayed really quickly but this tip has brought it back to life like new and saved so much money... Your tips are priceless, than you for helping so many women going through treatment and ongoing illness such as myself, your a wonderful help. :))
I am new to wearing wigs and currently have a heat-resistent synthetic. When the ends started getting ratty, I tried flat ironing them straight. When that no longer worked I started cutting the damaged ends off. I was at the point of purchasing a new unit when I came across this video. I tried your method and could not believe the fabulous results. The steamer works so well and the detangling spray is a must. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! It is greatly appreciated.
Patty, you are a genius!!! I ordered the steamer from ebay and used a smoothing serum because I couldn't find the one you suggested. But this method works superbly. I am so impressed with the results. My ratty wig look almost new again. Its amazing. Thank you soooooo very much for sharing this information with us. Ive thrown away quite a few wigs because they were so nappy and matted at the end, I thought there was no hope. But never again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! !
Hi Patti! I’m new to the wig scene. I’ve been watching a lot of videos. Last week I started wearing my wig to work. I watched this video several weeks ago and I must say, it was THE most useful video I watched. The $30.00 steamer is the BEST investment on the planet for a wig wearer of long wigs. I am truly AMAZED how you can turn the split, frayed ends into perfect hair! 😁😀😁 You are so darn cute and sweet. Thank you so much for ALL your helpful videos..they have made this tough transition so much easier!
You're adorable and have now saved me from buying a new wig every month, THANK YOU! :)
Thank you Miss Patti. I've lost hair due to health issues. I've been tired so my husband helped me out by washing and setting my wigs. He watched your videos and learned so much. He said that you are a lovely lady and I agree. Thank you and God bless you.
Bless you both!!! Thank you so much for watching!
I know this is an old video, but I can't tell you how many times I refer to it to help new wig wearers steam their synthetic wigs when they get tangly and Frizzy, when I first started wearing wigs in 2015 this was the first video that came up to show me how to steam a wig. This is the most in-depth video I've ever seen, nobody ever turns their wigs inside out to steam them which is a must. Which is why this is the only video on steaming that I ever give new wig wearers. Thanks to Patti's pearls this is the best.
Thank you so much! So glad to hear that it's been so helpful to you!
You are so wonderful to teach us how to things ourselves. You are a very compassionate person! 💐
Hello, I stumbled across your channel. I love the way you speak clearly and honestly. I have 2 short wigs, 1 was used when I went through chemo and the second just because I love the cut and style. Both are synthetic and your video has just saved them both from the trash. Clear, concise. You have a wonderful helpful personality that is absolutely real unlike many u tube videos.
Thank you and I have sub
This is a fabulous tip!!! I am ordering a steamer today! I have had soooo many synthetic wigs that I have just thrown away because the tangles, frizz and mat was just impossible to work with. You have saved me so much money with this tip and I really want to thank you for sharing.
Thanks Patty I kept throwing away my wigs but I found this one I really love didn’t want to throw away your video was so clear simply and helpful; you’re a star
Thank you! I learned to keep my head away when I open the oven door!
I love this woman, she's amazing I have learned so much about wigs!
Finding you has been a true blessing for me! You are wonderful and your videos are very helpful and inspiring. I also have chopped off most of my synthetics (I've been wearing them for almost 20 years due to hair loss) and this is a true revelation for me! Thanks so much.
what a lovely teacher! i don`t have a steamer so i lay my wig down on the bed and cover it with a thin towel, then i run a hot iron (with steam) over it and it makes the hair super soft and smooth!
Thank you for sharing this tip. I get so frustrated when my synthetic wigs gets frizzled in the back area of my wig.
You have such a cute and bubbly personality which I appreciate and makes it easy to watch the whole way through. Also you taught me tricks I haven’t seen in any other videos and it all makes sense and saves so much time compared to the other way I know to fix this specific wig issue. So thank you, I totally subscribed and and have been enjoying these videos all morning.
Thank you so much for watching our videos!
Once again Patti to the rescue! Thank sweet Patti.
Thank you! I lost @ 1/4 of my already thin hair and somehow @ 4 inches of length from purposely losing quite a lot of weight. I got 2 beautiful toppers that built my self-esteem up so much but they went frizzy and snarled within a week. They do hit below my collar so that was an ah-ha moment for me when you explained the reasons. I just ordered a My Little Steamer and next the HD spray, I am looking forward to getting my toppers back to how they arrived. Also, you are so sweet and a joy! A million thanks!!!!
What is the brand name of anti frizz spray ?
Boy, does this video make me miss the old world. This LOVELY woman actually speaks and feels and just says it like it is and does things with common sense, like just get in there and do it!!!
This world has gone insane!!
Thank you, Ma'am. Thank you so much🤠
I want to call you Bubbles, but I know that's not your name... Thank you❤️❤️❤️
I only wish I would have known this long ago. I have chopped the length off of some many long wigs because of the ends. Thanks so much Patti!
Been binge watching Patti...she is a font of information.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your comments. Ya'll are so sweet! :)
I like how you said not to do it while you are wearing it. Good advice.
I'm definitely not the intended audience for this video (I'm trying to tame a cheap doll wig) but this lady and her friendly personality make it really easy to follow and remember the instructions! :) big Bob Ross energy here
Oh wow, thank you!! You're so kind. Bob Ross energy is the best compliment!😍😭
I'm new to wig wearing & upkeep. Thank you for such great information & tutorials.
You are so cute Patti. Thanks for helping us. I was buying a new wig every two weeks. Can you imagine how much money you are saving me??
Thank you so much for all your wig tips and reviews. You are AWESOME!!
I’m late to the show but I only recently started to wear wigs. I have a very hard time finding a style and color that works for me so I hate the thought of a synthetic wig not lasting long. I hope that I can make this work when the time comes!! Thank you for a great post!,
Thank you so much for this informative video! I was looking for solutions on how to defrizz the ends of a lovely long wig I wear in updo and you have given me and I’m sure many others the solution!
Thank you,👍🏾😍
So happy to help! We understand the importance of maintaining longevity in our pieces and this is definitely one of our favorite ways to do so. Thank you Anne Marie for watching!😊💕
Patti. You are a lifesaver! I was about to throw away 2 toppers worth $200 each. I used too hot of a curling iron and fried them. Wish I could send you a before and after pic.
Here it is, August of 2021, and Patti is helping me with this problem!!! Thank you, Patti!
Happy to help!
@@Wigsbypattispearls You are a jewel! :)
I tried using the steamer/comb on very long, clip-in, wig ponytails I have tonight. They get extremely knotted and messy right away because of how long they are. This worked wonders on them!! Last time I was in the hotel room the night before a convention trying to comb through them and spraying wig conditioner. Ugh, it was a nightmare. Thank you for the video, it was very helpful!! I will be steaming them from now on before I wear them. :)
Anybody else think she's completely adorbs?!
you are such a treasure to find and a pleasure to listen and learn from...God Bless you and yours
This video was recommended to me. Glad I'd watched! God blessed.
Sandra Williams wow pattis wearing a wig
This is brilliant! I hope it works on my wig, which is terrible underneath. So any old fabric steamer should work? I need to pick one of those up. Thank you!
Thank God I found you Patti, I'm new to wigs and you teach so much. Thank you xxx
Thank you so much for watching our videos!
I had a favorite Jon Renau Top Secret that I was about to toss out because the frizz was so bad. I used this method - I can't believe how silky my topper is now! I also used it to straighten my Top Wave. The waves just didn't look right on me - now it looks terrific. A word about steamers - I was about to buy the Jon Renau steamer for $90 on Amazon, but the bad reviews stopped me. I wound up purchasing one for $25 that is similar to Patti's - it works great!
Liz Nicklus where did you find your steamer? Amazon? Brand please. I cannot afford JR😥
I found it on Amazon. It is an Imagine 1Steam, the 2018 model.
What a great video!! Omg, this is a lifesaver!! I love watching you!!
Thank you for your support. Next time that you need a wig, give me a shot. I would love to help you. Have a Great Final Four Weekend!! patti
Auntie you know your stuff thanks for helping us to save our synthetic wigs
I cannot THANK YOU enough! I always learn something useful from you! God bless you!
So glad to help!! Thank you for the support!❤
She’s so adorable
Patti, I love your videos, you are so knowledgeable, funny and just the nicest person.
Hi Sheryl! So happy to hear that you enjoy the videos🥰
I am so glad that I found this video. I was having trouble with a new Noriko Elliot wig that I had trimmed to just below the shoulders, and it was tangling in the back really, really bad. I wrecked it attempting to brush it out. Now I'll be able to do all of this and fix it. So glad for Patti's video!
😆
So glad you found it to be helpful!!
Thank you for this great video! What is the name of the detangler that you sprayed on it?
In this video, we used the Jon Renau HD Smooth Detangler. Another awesome product that we use now is the Envy Renu and Repair Spray: www.wigsbypattispearls.com/envy-renu-and-repair-glosser-spray.html
Hi Patti,
I have issues with the nape of the neck of wigs starting to stick up or out. What causes that and can I remedy it with a steamer? I just got a steamer, like what you have. Thank You,
Hugs, Cindy
Awww thank you so much , you are a beautiful lovely lady , thank you just bought mine and wore it for a number of times to get used to it , around the house , anyway have washed it , got everything you got , as I have lost lot of my hair , I need to wear one , have done the taking care bits , but you explained things so well 🌹🌹🌹x looking forward to looking at your other tips and tricks x
Thank you so much! You’re a lifesaver, and have such a lovely demeanor as well. Your explanation was incredibly helpful and easy to follow. :-)
Hi Patti. Do you think you could spray a wig with the J.R. detangling spray and then use a plastic round brush and the blow dryer on cool or medium? love your videos. You are one spicy lady!
Hi Pamela!
If it is a synthetic wig, we don't recommend using the blow dryer at all, even if the setting is on cool. If it's human hair, then using a blow dryer is okay! Either way, the Jon Renau detangling spray can be used daily with a wide toothed comb.
Hi thanks for sharing. I have a synthetic curly wig and was told not to brush it out or it will lose its natural curl. I do have a steamer clamp etc, but just need some advice on how to deal with long hair with tight curls. Hope you can help.
A pearl suits you well Patty. Strong & bright with a soft warm glow
Will this technique be effective on curly wigs ?
Thankyou for great informative videos
Hi there!
Steaming a curly wig will actually take the curl right out of it. However you can add the curl back by steaming it and putting curlers in it and letting it dry.
Patty you are a god send! Does this work on futura synthetic wigs as well???
Hello i just want to say i found a really good wig and i went to order a 2nd one and they’re hard to find !!! mine started getting a little frizz and i followed ur steps (with a fave streamer) going on 2 weeks now and it looks FABULOUS! i don’t usually comment on videos but i had to come back and say THANK YOU ! Anyone reading this ! do this exactly how she says ! it WORKS!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
P.S i love your page !!! New sub for sure
Oh wow Jewel, that is so awesome! Steaming works wonders! So so glad our tutorial was helpful!🤗🤗🥰 Thank you for the support!
Hi, can you tell me, please, what wig you are wearing in this excellent video? I absolutely love ❤️ it!! Thank you!
Patti is wearing the discontinued Nita by Jon Renau Color 27T613. A very similar style you can purchase is the Ignite by Jon Renau😊 View here: www.wigsbypattispearls.com/ignite-wig.html
Hello Patti, I just began wearing a wig about 6 months ago. I went to a local wig store for guidance since I was/am an amateur at all things wig. I decided on a nice Synthetic Wig. About a week or so later, I noticed the nape area would be all matted up when I took it off at night. Thinking it was a defective wig, I went back to the Wig store & was told it was a common occurrence with synthetic wigs, which you confirmed, was due to the fibers making contact with shirt collars. She recommended I use a leave-in conditioner/detangler. I've been searching Google as well as watching countless RUclips videos, literally every day, trying to find away to repair the frizz. You have no idea how happy 🤗 I was to, FINALLY stumble upon your video. I am curious to know if you have any suggestions on what I can use as an alternative to the steamer until I can afford to buy one? I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi Taressa! A steamer is really the best way to get that direct stream of steam to the problem area. You need that wet heat to get those fibers to behave! Conditioner and detangler will help, but depending on how bad the frizz is, you will probably have the best results from a steamer.
@@Wigsbypattispearls Hello Patti, I appreciate your response to my question. After seeing your video where you use the steamer, I have been using a leave-in conditioner until I can get an inexpensive steamer. I start by combing the conditioner thru with a wide-tooth comb. Then I spray again & comb thru with a comb that's not quite as wide-tooth as b4. Then I spray again & comb thru with a regular comb. Lastly, I comb thru with a fine-tooth comb. Luckily, it has somewhat minimized some of the frizz. I hope to get a steamer soon. Thank You Very Much for tips
Can you dip it in boiling water ?
Wow you made my day because I have synthetic wigs that are frizzy and your method is very helpful thanks so much☺️☺️☺️
Patti - I really would appreciate how to restyle short wigs especially the ones with flips in the back. I can get them to fluff up but they don't tend to have flippy points but it all stands up with the hairs independently. I'm wondering if I need to gel the flippy points first, let it dry, and steam them with the gel, then let that cool/dry again.
If it's a short spiky wig I would try using the Jon Renau Flexible Spray Gel or the Jon Renau Piece Out Contour Fiber Creme. Both of these products work great for this type of thing.
I bought one of those steamers about 5 yrs ago and never used it. I finally recently gave it away. Now I'm kicking myself! Oh well, maybe Ebay... I knew there had to be a way to do this though... Thanks!
Joann Scott they sell handheld mini steamers at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20. I bought mine this past Friday. :)
I had been so worried about trying this but now im glad I did, thank you for uploading this.
Thank you!
Hello Patti - This will work on long or med length wigs but what about short wigs? I would love a video on how to defriz short wigs.
It works the same way. You just have to comb the hair and apply steam
first video i’m seeing and i’m subscribing. you’re so sweet and knowledgeable keep it up💖
Thank you so much Lauren!
How long can I steam the ends? As is how many times can I go over them? I started steaming the ends and at first it seemed like the ends were splitting as the steam went over them so I stopped in panic. Should I have kept going with the steam and comb? My wig is HD straight. Thank you ❤️
WOW!! Awesome video!!! ❤️I am going to try this!
I have a kanekelon wig from the UK, i am desperate to revive it. will this work? what is the spray you used? you seem like such a lovely person! xx
Yes you can, please make sure to purchase a Bed head tool to bring back the curl. Before you start we suggest to purchase a HD smoother detangle to make this process a lot easier. Good luck!
TY for making this video and showing us how to fix our wigs
Thank you for watching!
Hi Patti!! I have learned soooo much from you in my one short month of wearing wigs. Thank you so very much for all of your precious information and wonderful spirit! I am wanting to know what wig you are wearing in this video.... is it Opulence by Gabor? It looks like it might be but would love to know. Thank you!!
Jessica Benjamin Patti is wearing Nita by Jon Renau color 27T613F

u have brought me so much joy!
Great technique. Will try
Just finding this video and wow! I wish i would've found you sooner to save so many wigs lives, lol! I have a new curly wig and ive waited a whole month to wear it because i knew the clock would be ticking as soon as i put it on my head. Im a little worried about combing curly synthetic hair while wet with the product, so what do u suggest?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Steaming your wig will take out the curl pattern and will re-bake it into a straight style. If you were to steam it, you'd need to use something to restyle it afterwards. If yours is regular synthetic (not heat-resistant), you can use steam to put curls back in it as well. After you defrizz, you can roll the hair into rollers, then apply steam all over. Leave the hair in the rollers until completely dry. We hope you find this helpful! If you need more assistance, please reach out to our customer support at support@wigsbypattispearls.com❤
What a fab woman this is love her she should have her own tv show
whoooaaa who would have thought!... i honestly thought the heat from the steamer would melt the synthetic hair... but im going to try this.. !..
umm do you have tips on de-frizzing synthetic curly hair?
Thank ya ma'am
We recommend to use the same method shown on this video. Then use our special curling iron that are sold on our web. We are currently having a 33%OFF sale. code Labor33
Just perfect as always xx
You're the best! Thanks for watching!🥰😘
I have frizzies on a heat wig. It has light curls in it. Is there a way to not take the curl out? Can I get the name of the spray that you use please? Thank you.
Definitely try using the spray, along with a little bit of treatment from a steamer to help calm the frizz if you would like. The spray is called HD Smooth Detangler by Jon Renau. You can view this at our website here: www.wigsbypattispearls.com/heat-defiant-detangler-smoother.html
I'm sending you hugs for posting this. You really really helped a LOT!! GBU!!!
hi! Great video, it looks so easy! so I have a question. does this technique work on synthetic hair extensions as well? I just bought a 24" wavy hair extensions from ebay about a little over a month ago. Its loosing most of its soft texture, its rough and ratty throughout the bottom half from its getting so tangled up. Most of its waves are flattening. I tried shampoo and conditioner. And afterwards, combing and brushing it out. and i cant use my straightener because it only has one setting. :(
Thank you for the tutorial!
dear Patti thank you so much for the information it is very true, I bought the steamer and it really works!!!!!!!!!
Do you HAVE to use that serum with the steamer in order for it to revive the wig?
Can you describe the color of the Bob that you’re wearing? To me it looks very neutral to slightly ash blonde with an ash blonde base with platinum or neutral light blonde highlights. Usually when I see this color with the 613 it’s golden blonde so I’m not sure if it’s the monitor but you know how hard it is to buy blondes online. My favorite colors are JR Palm Springs blonde and RW Biscuit. I wish they made the rooting on Palm Springs blonde a little bit lighter because to me it looks light to medium brown on my Ignite. Could you please help me? I love that wig and I love that color that shows up on a phone monitor. I love my Ignite but I had to flip the part to the other side for it not to look like a medium brown perfectly symmetrical rounded wig
hairline.
Hi Christina!
The color is Marshmallow 27T613. It is a medium-red golden blonde with pale natural golden-blonde tips.
I have hair extensions ...clip ins....going to try your tips to restore my favourite one! Thanks sweet lady
I've got a Noriko Angelica that is dry and frizzed . I'm going to try this.
Patti-great video! After you wash it next time, do you have to do the steam again or does it stay like this? Thank you.
Frizz shouldn't be as bad even after washing, but occasional steaming of the wig will help train it!
Hi Patti
I steamed my wig watching your instructions, and it is so silky no more frizz! 🤗
I do have a question though, after doing this my wig is now straight, all the wave is gone ☹️
Will it come back if I wash it???
Hi Dana!
Your waves will come right back once you wash your synthetic wig, since the style is baked in!
Patti, I just left a message for you on the wrong video. This is de-frizzing video is the one I just watched that is so helpful. I like being able to extend the life of my awesome wigs:) In this video you are wearing a wonderful bob wig style. (I assume it's a wig) This is exactly what I'm looking for. Exactly which one is it? And, can we get it from your shop? Thanks so much. I'm glad to find you.
Hi Dee, I just bumped into ur videos and I'm so excited to check ur Chanel out cuz it seems like it's all the info I need... One question, can I damage the hair with the steamer if I don't do it right?
Absolutely not!! Just steam it over and over till you get it nice and straight. Keep in mind that the steamer is just water.
Don't you have to apply steam to the hair when it is in the roller? I'm confused... how does it keep the curl if you roll it up after it's cooled some?
You mentioned a detangler that you have talked about previously, what product is that? Any help greatly appreciated. Just started wearing wigs and am in tears at how fast the wigs are breaking down. I’ve tried a few products that you are supposed to spray after each wear, but they seem to dry them out, and whoa Nelly do they smell overwhelming…help!
The Jon Renau HD Smooth Detangler is the one that we use when steaming. The one that we suggest for daily wear is Envy's Renu and Repair Glosser Spray. The fiber will still frizz and tangle. Synthetic fiber is made of acrylic and a side effect of it rubbing against skin, clothes and material is to frizz and tangle. So, while all of these products will help prolong the life and reduce the side effects, it will not prevent them from happening. Another tip is to only use a wide tooth comb (nothing else). When combing, start from the bottom and work your way up. If you start from the top, it will pull the tangles through the hair which will make it worse. Good luck 😊
@@Wigsbypattispearls thank you for always responding, you’re all awesome at Patti’s pearls.😘
Love this video but what watt steamer do I buy?
We suggest this one www.wigsbypattispearls.com/steamer.html

Patty you are such a sweet lady... Love your tutorials...Thanks for helping us look more beautiful!!! Blessings!!
Absolutely invaluable video thank you so much for this , as always you are an absolute joy to watch ♥️
Glad you enjoyed it! A steamer can be a miracle worker for synthetics!😘
