    One tip on the styrofoam heads. When ordering one, make sure it is a head for styling and is straight and symmetrical. There are many out there for display and they are on an angle. Very attractive, but will mess you up if you plan to cut bangs, etc. Thanks for all you do, Patti. God bless.

    It’s great to use hot steam and let it fully cool in the desired direction, wigs can be resistant to modification. I find an upturned chair leg also fits perfectly into the styrofoam head or canvas wig block. It also angles it with the head leaning back. I just helped a wig newbie who’s still in the hospital, with what she needs. It’s so rewarding to help someone through it. I’m sure many of you will know what I mean.

    Hi. My wife is recuperating from a hands operation and can't type at the moment. She has been watching your videos and is thrilled to have found your channel and how wonderful you are. You regularly say to use a wide-tooth comb like the Jon Renau. My wife had been told to very much avoid all plastic combs and plastic brushes and was recommended instead to buy a high-quality wire-brush which she did. All her wigs are Heat-Defiant wigs that come to her shoulders. My wife is now quite confused: Should she discontinue completely her wire-brush ? Thank you.

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  7 лет назад +2

      Hi Mike! A wire brush is okay on some wigs but you should only use the plastic wide tooth combs on HD wigs. Most retailers will tell you how important this is. Jon Renau even gives a free wide tooth comb with all HD wigs to ensure that you have the proper tool. Thanks for watching our videos!

    • @MarinaLaroche
      @MarinaLaroche 7 лет назад +2

      Thank you for your answer. I guess the wife will be getting that Jon Renau comb then. Thanks !

    I got a new dishwasher last year for Christmas. It was a beautiful stainless steel with a stainless steel interior and 3 racks...then along the top of the door was a touch screen type start and the different cycles, ect...I wasn't sure how to use it, but I started pushing buttons. I HATED this dishwasher. It didn't clean at all! I wanted my old 18 year old dishwasher back! The next 9 months it was a $1,000 dish drainer because I washed dishes and used the dishwasher to let them dry! I went to Lowe's and told them my issues. I told them that I may not be using it correctly but they would not show me how to use it they just kept telling me to call whirlpool. Last week I decided I would try to find a RUclips videothat exact dishwasher to see if I can figure it out and if other people hated it as badly as I did because the reviews on Lowe's is glaringly wonderful. I found a video and I had been doing it wrong for a year! once I figured it out I put in a bowl that had cheese dip in it and set on the counter overnight so the cheese dip was dried onto the bowl hard as a rock! I would never put that in the dishwasher without sucking it and getting that layer of cheese off the bowl, but I wanted to see what the new dishwasher would do. That thing came out sparkling clean! I had a dishwasher for 10 months and had no idea how to use it! Hehe

    I find that synthetic wigs look better after being fully washed and re conditioned. They become much less coarse and look more natural. They must come with alot of hairspray on them.

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  Год назад

      Hi Jennifer! With synthetics, washing them can definitely soften them and reduce shine, especially after being brand new from the factory. No products/hairspray are on the fibers from the factory, but perhaps some wigs may feel or smell a certain way simply because of the processes they went through while being made.😊

    • @Wigsbypattispearls

      Keep in mind that a sister wig doesn't mean that it will be identical but it is similar. Ignites sister wigs are Victoria (handtied with lace front) and Posh (monofilament but no lace front). Both of these are by Jon Renau and are listed on our website.

    Is the wig on the styrofoam head or human head when using fingertips on the scalp??

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  5 лет назад

      It tends to be easier to apply pressure and adjustments to the piece when it is on your own head. This will allow it to form better to your head specifically, and heat. However, if maneuvering that way is difficult, you can always use your fingertips while your piece is placed on a stand as well.

    Does anyone know where to look on a RUclips video to find out the date it was posted?

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  4 года назад

      The date is usually listed under the title of the video, next to the number of views! This video for example was posted on April 13, 2012.

      There is no date either next to or beneath the clip title or near the # of views. I can’t find the post date anywhere.

    Hi, you are so funny but clever. Do you know if there is anything that dyes a synethic wig? I used rite more dye but it did little to change the color. The wig is a plantium light silver and I used a Coco Brown. dye. All it did was make it a slate gray🤐

      Hi Deborah, There isn't anything that will truly change the color of a synthetic wig
