Matt Skiba is one of the most talented musicians out there. He should have said no to Blink 182. He's worth much more than being a Tom clone.
I agree with all the comments. Skiba is awesome. But he needs to get away from Blink. Or they need to get away from Feldman. Those two albums they made were beyond terrible. Alkaline Trio released an album in 2018 and its a hundred times better than those last two albums by Blink.

Can't help but laugh at all the people who are unfamiliar with Matt Skiba and/or Alkaline Trio. They act as though he or his music didn't shape the artists or do anything the community they grew up listening to.

Timothy seriously, my generation grew up with blink (pre self-titled) and alkaline trio side by side. I have a hard time understanding how someone is into blink enough to end up here because of it, but have never heard of skiba or alkaline trio.

Okay first of all, if you have no idea who skiba or alkaline trio are where the FUCK have you been? And what other shit have you been listening to? Get familiar. From here to infirmary is a great album to start with. Second of all, let's face it, he's a better singer than tom. Tom can't actually sing. And I'm pretty sure mark and travis wanted something as far from tom as possible. I'm not sure wether they're gonna release any material together but I'm actually excited about this!

If you're just coming across Matt Skiba / Alkaline Trio I'll recommend a few songs:
Jaked on Green Beers, While You're Waiting, Trucks and Trains, You're Dead, Dead End Road, Love Love Kiss Kiss, In Your Wake, Bloodied Up, This Could Be Love, Radio, Private Eye, San Francisco, This is Getting Over You, Stupid Kid, My Little Needle, Continental.
I personally love pretty much every song made by them 2003 or earlier, so those CDs are all great. There are good songs after that point, but I don't personally like every single song.

Watch any Alkaline Trio video, or what he did in Heavens. Old Alkaline Trio is in tune with Blink. Skiba will fucking kill it in Blink. Theres no doubt about that. So just hear it before you judge.....and go listen to Alkaline Trio for reference.

If you like Blink, just listen to the albums Goddammit, Alkaline Trio, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, Good Mourning. If you don't make all the way to the last 3 tracks on Good Mourning (Blue in the Face, Dead End Road, Old School Reasons) and like it the problem is you.

Now I just saw the videos after an entire decade. Love Babylon and their love of the genre and a very good line up. Hunter and my chem drummer plus skiba is a super band....... Blink now too short of a. Yard of guessing he's going to be in the band and puts a lot of people in omg shit mode but I love all Matt's work. From McHenry and I am not sure what took me five years to learn that but side of the millennial release FHTI was my first thing I got and they replaced AFI as my number one post punk rock band which hunter just got a lot of sweetness here in the sekrets .... Great with this first CD being a laveyan satanist myself be myself here to finish Babylon is gunner down the fucking Christians does honesty and reasoning and logic Fuckin learn to question all we are taught here and what is really going on..... His luciferian blues end of joy voices an inspiration for me. Over and over loved so much I listen. theHELLs great job too but harder. This band was like a dream. Second round of them was good but more lovey Dovey less than the demos and satanic vibes. But she said it's a hella good song and the single and three or four or five more and it's good but not like this Babylon omg 5 stars regardless then my shame and the hell OMG and Dan did with it too tactics the same as the other half he brought his damn best to the game.... Dan andriano in the ER is very good and three now with the other release this year. Trio touring Chicago holding my financial hope to see if I can get the fuck out of here and see them in a few days I think...... Trio....
I didn't know who Matt Skiba was until it was announced that he'd be joining Blink-182 and I can't believe I didn't listen to any of his music prior because it's so good. His lyrics are amazing and it really shows in this song. I love this acoustic version with the female singer a lot.

I honestly had never heard of Matt Skiba and didn't know what he sounded like until I find out he was replacing Tom and I looked him up. This was the first video I saw of him singing and after hearing it I'm really excited for what's to come with Blink-182.
