  • In this video, I share with you, my review of the Stillman & Birn Alpha. I have been using Alpha sketchbooks for a year and a half. I am in no way sponsored or endorsed by the manufacturer. All opinions expressed are my own.
I have been urban sketching for a few years and am actively involved with Urban Sketchers Mumbai chapter. Watercolor is my favorite medium. This demonstration is the approach I use when I am outdoors with my sketchbook and paints. It relies heavily upon identifying and defining simple shapes and values. Using this approach, I give my sketches a sense of light and volume, one wash at a time.
