Sweet memories of me and the love of my life, fishing in a tiny jon boat on a pond, in the middle of the night. He'd sing "Melinnnda". I'd sing Joshuaaaa. He passed away in April. I hear him singing my name and smile thru the tears when I listen to this song! ❤ Thank you Whiskey Myers
Amazing band and massively underrated.
Ni ck I feel the same way! Great Sound
How are they underrated? I gave them a 10 and don't give a sh1T what the radio says.
They say Luke Bryan is country! bwaaahahahahaa
Zombies
Barbie
You are more than right about that.
This ain't Country music, it's food for the Soul. Even better.
"AMEN" Food 4 the soul...
Couldn't agree more
Found this band only 2 weeks ago. Loving the music. Wish I had heard it years ago
Same love them now
If you can find them playing close to you, they are awesome live!
@@kaylas7283 agreed I had the opportunity to see them live here in Virginia. It was amazing. Been rocking with these guys for years hands down one of my favorite bands. Real music with soul and meaning
Welcome to the family, great group 👍 been listening for years and years never gets old either. like other music does.
No you don’t. It would have probably been lost in your memory Bank. Perfect timeline
hands down the most raw country music non sellout badass preforming mother ...... these guys are everything.... and live ive yet to see another concert that slaps as hard as them riffing between the songs instead of taking breaks transitionig into their next songs off the solos they slay and its criminal how underrated they are but honestly i believe they would never sellout anyways
I'm Filipino and certified fans of Southern Rock and also Outlaw Country Music baby..🇺🇲🇺🇲🇵🇭🇵🇭..
I have this song playing through the kitchen speaker while I sit on the front porch. A glass of whisky in one hand and a cigarette in the other and I can hear fireworks in the distance. Life is good
I felt that, man. Good times 👍
@@joshdenning4917 I damn sure get it too!
Perfect
We did it boys ... Thank u for coming together see what what happens when everybody works together ... Little bit of white and a lot a bit of red .... HAHAHAH ...
Sounds like a good day right there.
Wow! This is a genuine jewel. A French fan of southern rock. Greetings from Normandy.
Hello from Arkansas, USA !! Great soulful music
Hi, i am a Norman (Norway)
It’s Texas country
Hello Panama City FL
@@stetty75 with elements of southern rock.
The song may be about a girl named Virginia......but.....The State of Virginia, Land of Lee and Jackson and Stuart and the Confederate Capital still shines for the South!!! Whether you are from Texas to Virginia ( if your a native of the South) you gotta love SOUTHERN Rock!!! God bless Whisky Myers!!!!
AIN'T IT JUST AIN'T IT 😎 Born in a Holler in the hills of Virginia. Reside in Alabama Sand MTN
This generation lacks the sense of good music, thank God that there are upcoming bands like this that appreciate it, and continue to spread it. Thank you for that, keep making great music.
Hunter Rhynes Don't lump the whole generation together man! Whiskey Myers is one of my favorite bands. It's up to us to keep music like this alive.
I in my honesty people love nothing but hate and REPATATIVE WORDS(not pop but rap music.) That gay Luke and flake Shelton kills 🎶. Death at first music.
@@marcuseldridge8675 I hate most of Lukes songs but have you heard you don't know jack or the car in front of me? Those were from before he went all pop and what not.
I agree. My generation sucks
I am this generation. I love this music. Always have
Alert: Southern rock is alive and well.....
Its "Dirt", not *really* considered 'Country Rock' anymore. It has an actual name now lol, it's not so bland
Curtis Beal ever heard of Texas red dirt lol
Jude Santillan I would call it red dirt too, but there definitely is a heavy southern rock influence to it
I’d never heard of him until one of my sons shared his tunes with me
Excellent
The band name is whiskey myers not a single guy!!!
Your son has great taste in music 🎶
Yeah my kid turned me onto these guys glad she did
Ridiculous that the radio don’t play these guys, wonder y nobody does radio much anymore, listening for years and still one of the best 👍🏻
You know why!
Sirrus XM radio does on "Outlaw Country" channell.
I don't listen to mainstream music, so I hear them a lot on the radio station I listen to.
Ive heard them on the radio many times in athens texas
I know thank god for you tube music!!
It's a mix between The Black Crowes and Skynyrd!! Love it
kgarrett34294 I was literally just thinking this
kgarrett34294 *and Jesus!
kgarrett34294 I thought the same. Good call.
Reminds me of Cross Canadian Ragweed
Reminds me of the Marshall Tucker Band too
love this band.....making east texas proud and hopefully the whole country......Texas soul nothing like it.....forever a fan
I just saw this Band at The Whisky a Go Go in L.A last Tuesday,it was an amazing show! ,even the people working like sound guy, light guy, etc. mentioned that was one of the best concerts they've ever seen, it was a great night the kind that stands out in my book of good memories , thanks Whisky Myers !
Finally a song with my name on it lmfao 😇😇Love this song
❤️
Lucky
This ones for u
"meet Virgina" by Train

SKNYRD STILL LIVE'S THROUGH WHISKEY MYERS
carla thrift. Spot on.
First time I've heard these guys. Blown me away. Keeping it country.

Carla Thrift Skynrd still lives through Skynrd.
Carla Thrift yes it does 😎😎😎👌👌
R.I.P
GARY ROSSINGTON 🎼👊🏻🎶
This song makes my soul smile. Easily one of my favorite songs ever written.
This band is still our secret no matter who hears it.
One of my favorite songs of ALL TIME. So amazing, it never gets old.
6 years later, it still hits just as good, listen again…..you’ll love it again
It's one of my favorites also. It never gets old. I agree 💯
O
I never thought I'd listen to a song that reminds of my old relationship and actually make me smile and laugh at the memories but also super sad and nostalgic at the same time... Damn. Way to go that's a song right there!
Sounds like you will have that page in your life always corner folded over. Cheers mate
Damn, just damn....these boys have talent!
I swear this band is a modern-day skynyrd.
Along with Blackberry Smoke
Dam right man grew up 1990 in country skynard all day bit your dam right been thinking that for while
I think u got something right there this band is amazing
I feel the same way every time I jam their tunes!
💯
Great song...makes me want to listen to Tuesday's Gone....
Found the band a couple days of go I absolutely love the music and the lead singer has one hell of a voice
.•♫•♬•Lyrics •♬•♫•.
Earthquakes and hurricanes
And slow movin' freight trains
Girl, that's how
You make me feel sometimes
But you were gone away from here
So far, my dear
Up by that Northern state line
Virginia
Light up my broken dreams
You pick me up
And sure make me smile
Virginia
And I would give anything
To come dance around
My memory for awhile
Off in the moonlight
A sweet Southern moonlight
A billion stars
Bare feet in the sand
I'm countin' down the summer days
Smiling at our reckless ways
You was my girl
And I was your man
Virginia
Light up my broken dreams
You pick me up
And sure make me smile
Virginia
And I would give anything
To come dance around
My memory for awhile
That's the way the story goes
Of broken hearts and sad souls
You left me here
Not saying goodbye
Said you headed with your Paw
North Arkansas
But that was back before 1975
Virginia
Light up my broken dreams
You pick me up
And sure make me smile
Virginia
And I would give anything
To come dance around
My memory for awhile
Greatest country band there is. Period end of story. Great songwriter, greatest lead guitar in country music... what more could you ask for #fucknashville
sound better live than in the studio...how many groups can say that?..Texas
I can loud and heavy!!!
Luke combs and cody jinks Jacob byrant
Tyler Childers
Blackberry Smoke
Glad I got into the habit of looking up random song lyrics I hear on the radio. Great fucking song.
Meet Virginia
dylan. Perfect response
Had never heard of them until I found a CD on the side of the road in Gulf Shores, AL., while I was running. Put it in the player when I got back and as blown away. Love their sound and wonder why we don't hear more about them...
Awesome
The lord works in mysterious ways
Their Music was showcased on Yellowstone!!
Probably because mainstream doesn't understand the word talent.
That was a god send brother. Even the man upstairs knows good music😊😊😊
this song makes my eyes watery every time. love this album
This band is awesome just started listening a week ago and I can't stop listening they sound so much like lynyrd skynyrd and yet stand out with there own unique style it's awesome I just know they will be a force in music
Absolutely love these guys! So many relatable songs, from north Arkansas, much love
I'm here because of the Sweet, Poinyent Southern Bring Me Back Southern Rock that died with a plane crash but is reborn with this these folks with a new fire to ignite the flame again.
Amazing song. So talented and yet so underrated.
Tanker 13 real music will be unrated, it doesn't go with your (pop country) they play on the radio.
Dwalk22 boss Honestly, I viewed them as part of the new Southern Rock movement, along with the likes of Shooter Jennings, A Thousand Horses (sort of), Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real, and Jason Isbel.
Zachary Sedlar and sturgill simpson!
krispykremelvr Always thought he was a bit more Alternate Country, not so much Southern Rock.
Zachary Sedlar I tend to think of Sturgill when someone names Isbell. for me it's just all good "country/rock roots. I'm just happy to hear someone besides Luke bryan (pop country). I haven't turned on the radio in a year.
That's a powerful video..... most under age 40 truly don't understand and they never will. This country is not the same one those of us over 40 grew up in, that's for damn sure!
Amen,
I'm 18 years old and a true lover of older country music. None of my friends appreciate it though. It only appeals to old souls
Grady Dunkin same here. I’m 17 and feel the same way. Makes me mad in a way that they don’t understand it
Boy howdy
I'm 35 this June 2022 - Things have changed so much in the last 20 years. I ache for simplicity & affordability; the long nights without worrying about tomorrow or yesterday & without anxiety. Country music blaring from an old portable radio in the backyard on a sunny afternoon... My life is a Country Song
Good lord I was blowed away tonight. Thanks for keeping Southern Rock alive and well. AMAZING voice and incredible band.
Reminds me of Lynyrd Skynyrd. That style never dies
I think they perform because they want to share parts of their lives with the rest of the world. I don’t believe they play for recognition. They recognize they can touch people in the deepest places they didn’t know they could feel. I can’t relate to every song, but every song they share somebody can relate to.
Loving this and just bought tickets for their Glasgow gig in May. Will be sure of a great Scottish welcome
favorite song from them. feeling this alot. jus beautiful
Im so glad I found this group. When you dig deeper than the mainstream, you come across the truly great bands
The best Southern rock
Just came upon this song the other day, but defiantly one of the best I've heard in a long time. Great band, but very underrated. Keep doing what your doing
Love you guys music been a fan forever now but this song right here save my life in 2016 after my girl passed away and I can’t thank you guys enough for helping me through that.
I'm in love with this band
Great sound..........Original..................Take a drive playing this tune.
Much love to the state of Virginia
Love these guys!! Saw them in concert about a month ago and it was awesome!!
Discovered this band today and so loving the music.
love these guys. soooooo underrated. great lyrics.
Saw these boys the other night and they sound just like this live it’s unreal the talent they have🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
No auto tune for these boys. Real and humble-real humble.
My absolute favourite song right now. Great sound these guys have!
This song is already so good but the video made me cry. Struck a CORDDDDDD in my heart.
Just saw them in concert yesterday in Macon Georgia, they were amazing. We had floor seats and when they played this and Broken Window Serenade the whole place jumped up and sang along. Pure entertainment and so talented
Wish they'd come to Pittsburgh again. love love love
This song gives me allllll the feels. My god that voice.
Never heard a song that hurts and feels good at the same time as much as this one
Great description of this tune, man these guys can plain get down and speak to the soul
boy they are going to go to the top
Love this song! Can't wait to see y'all live
Swear I could listen to this on repeat and still want more. ❤️
Life is full of choices. Some we stick behind, others we question and wonder what would have happened, a f’ing curse if you ask me. God speed mfers.
Couldn’t have said it better. God bless you
Real country
Beautiful soulful storytelling that wakes up feelings that have been sleeping
I love these guys. Seen em several times live! Even before y'all were famous. East Texas baby!! Wooo.
I'm sad it took me this long to discover this band.
Me too
Feel the same, thank you Pandora for helping me find them
same boat ahaha
It amazes me that a group of guys so talented and good at making music are not as recognized as they should be.
They are here in Texas. It's red dirt. These guys are huge in Texas Country
+Joseph Tubb Yup, we backroad all the time to this shit here in Tx.
Joseph Tubb they're from nacadoches, I live about 30 minutes away from where they started out!
I live up in Wisconsin. I found these guys around a year ago. Best music in decades. Thank God these types of bands still exist but why they aren't mainstream I will never know. The country on the radio at least around here is terrible
@@xzaviermoreno9592 def not from nacogdoches.. The founding members are all from Palestine and surrounding areas, mont alba, neches, and grapeland
An AMAZING band both live and recorded. Don't waste time time, don't wait. get on the Whiskey Myers train.
I come back and play this song all the time.. it has its own vibe and I love it.
Great Job guys.
Total Lynyrd skynyrd vibes and I’m living for it
I knew a Virginia in HS. 17 years later and I still think about her. This song only makes it worse haha
Thank the lord for whiskey myers. Real music in a day its hard to come by!
Love love love these guys
These guys have got it.
Love this song... So happy the long hair/ long beards are coming back. Very handsome!
Talent is an understatement. Music that brings meaning
I'll be listening to them for now on! Wish I would have heard of them
Tickets arrived this morning to see you guys in Glasgow 6th Dec, really looking forward to it. :)
one of whiskey meyers best
Virginia. We live there! Proud to live where the war boys trod ❤🇺🇸✝️🥰
Virginia is a liberal sellout 💩 hole now. Yea congrats
You are representatives of old, simple and honest rock n' roll. Long life to you!
Beautiful ballad ...
Davor Ilic for sure!
amazing! This is one Artist that has a touching talent
This has become one of my favorite songs....
I love this band so much it's unbelievable
You guys are great! Never heard of you till today, and I'll probably buy a cd! Keep up the good work. We need more artists that keep the music simple, where you can "feel" their heart and soul in the music.
Can’t believe how underrated this band is!!!!! Love the music guys!! (if you even read these comments lol).
I read them oh this song
Always reading comments
These dudes changed the game.... Redefined classic rock and stole hearts while doing it....Noone reflects "life" the way Whiskey Myers....you guys sound like summer at the river when Momma was still with us... Thank you guys....for takin me home....though homes been a dream for so long
JUST got last minute tickets for two days from now! Really stoked.
Nice brother enjoy
Saw them the other night in Jackson Mississippi it was a great time
I just found this by accident and I love it
Blasted this coming home to VA from a new york trip yesterday.
This is powerfull good...
I've watched this video at least 200 times the last year. What I always see is a man missing out on what's right I front of him because he's wallowing in some love in the past.
i drink whiskey nightly and listen to these guys. how fitting
I do this often
Nightly? Sounds alcoholic my friend.
Umm...alcoholics go to meetings. :-)
Eric Hicks you out to hear flaming the red band
@@mightylaidlow1 sounds like a dick comment.. A little isn't bad. Hell i drinks couple veers nightly after work myself.. don't mean I'm an alcoholic.. But I work hard and long hours.. People like us earn it
Saw them with The Black Crowes in Miami OK. Absolutely amazing. Both bands went all out.
love this band.great fresh sound.
I would give anything, to come dance around your memory for awhile
