10 years ago incarcerated in prison in Texas I heard these guys on some late night red dirt country radio station, stuck with me this whole time, come back constantly to keep my sanity , still free from prison, Thank you!
Covered this song a lot while busking and hitch hiking around California. I was homeless and a had bad drinking problem. Sober and sleep in a bed now. This song will always bring up memories, beautiful and painful. I'll never stop covering it. ❤️
This man isn't singing for us; he is singing for himself. We are watching him conduct his own therapy, take his medicine, and heal himself through his music. He is truly pouring his heart out and giving it to us. Wow. Amazing. The talent and the passion. I feel everything that he is feeling. Truly amazing. ❤
Always gonna come back to this one.. the silence of that crowd alone is soul shaking.. cause thats not disappointed silence.. dude has their full attention.. itll just leave you speechless
what a bittersweet memory of your loved one! I was lucky enuf to see them at Soldier Field with the Stones in ‘18 then a month later in my hometown of Flint MI @ the Machine Shop!
Eventually one of those tears will be a fond memory, but just one. Time heals but it leaves nasty scars. To keep loving in the face of tragedy is the ultimate show strength. If you figure it out, holler.
His voice sounds like it's on the verge of breaking, but he keeps fighting through it... It's amazing to listen to. Really shows the love these artists have for their craft.
This song reminds me of what my life was before i got sober back on April 4th 2016. I fell in love with a girl in the depths of my addiction. I got sober, and she didn't. Even after getting sober she would pop in and out of my life, and I'd want to help her get clean but she wasn't ready. Today she has almost 6 months clean and I still feel the same love for her now. I got sober because I was truly tired of the life i once lived. The Bible says to pray with out ceasing and I know through personal experience that God does answer prayers. May not be the way we want it but he does answer. God is good!
My friend lost her fight to the cancer. We shared our favorite songs with each other. This was her favorite. Thank you guy's. You will keep her alive for me......
I just took my son to see them live tonight at the Fillmore in Silver Springs. His 18th birthday gift. They are such an underrated band! Amazing vocals and well rounded band. Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to and now it's currently 1am and I'm back home still listening to their music. Good times and great memories 🤘🏼🤙🏼✌🏼
My Sister just today about Whiskey Meyers and I am so happy she did. She and her husband climb a mountain to see them. She said they worth every step they took. True life song's hits hearts of many people people!! Thank you!!
I am 100% Scottish and live in Texas now, I heard these boys through Yellowstone. I want to now go see them live this year. Honestly they are outstanding and this folk music is what we have lost over the past 50 years but not to worry I found it again. This is heart felt soul music.
They have a gig in their hometown of Palestine at the end of September, which I imagine will be awesome (went to the one at RedRocks.... all worth it and great crowd).
Mind. Blown. I’m just now discovering this band. I wish I could share this with my Dad...he would be blown away by the raw talent. If there’s one thing my Papa taught me it was the appreciation of a true artist.
Seen them 4 times. You have to see them in person, smaller the venue the better! They play in the Austin area all the time. Get a perfect buzz and get lost in their soul and vibe and get that perfect connection with the crowd. Met my wife at Kevin Fowler fest and her and I always keep a look out for Myers playing locally.
I'm 58, and I have introduced my two boys to every type of music under the sun, NOW they share with me at 25 and 28 years of age!!! Where would we be without music???!!!
My wife died fast and there was nothing I could do to stop it,Her peace through this was she told me she's ok,, That she was loved so much and thats all that matters...I was the last thing she saw when she closed her eyes..I can only hope it was enough
Oh I am so not in a good place now... But I could listen to this beautiful man all day.... I am 32 months sober...I wish that I were younger...I feel this to the core...much Love to All! ✌️❤️😊

This song has gotten me thru some really rough patches after losing both parents a year apart. One with Alzheimer's and one within a month of finding out they had cancer. Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. God Bless 🙏
I can’t even listen to regular music anymore. It has to be live like this for me. It’s the best version of the artist’s. This song hits hard ❤️🩹✌🏼🫶🏼✊🏼
This is the only version of this song I will listen to. He puts so much soul into singing this song at that moment I wouldn't wanna hear it another way.
I had heard this song a few times on my pandora radio. I liked it. Then I heard this live acoustic version. It opened up the richness and complexity. The true songwriting talent. Absolutly amazing!
My mom introduced me to whiskey myer just the other weekend on our visit. I hadn't seen my mom in 7 months and hadnt been home to her house in 2 years. she lives over 2 hours away, and we have young children and ny husband works 6 days a week. This man is amazing his voice gets me, this music and his voice is the country I grow up with, it grounds me and reminds me of home and my sweet momma.
All I can say is this band helped me to find my way back to a better ace in life and to realize I'm not the only man out there trying to find my place in life the night is my persciption and the yway
I was in Nebraska back in June 2021 visiting family 2 days before I was heading home to Arizona my oldest son came up to me and said have you ever heard of Whiskey Myers and I gave him this look and a grin and said Son I been listening to Them since their first CD came out I was hooked on Gone Away, and too know they came along when America really was in need of a great southern country rock band I sure wish I could one of these days get to see them live before I move on to that two lane black top in the sky, well he said yeah me and my buddies like them too in fact we are seeing them next Friday at Pinewood Bowl. So there it is the way life goes for me I was heading home 4 days before they played. But on the other hand I was smiling with pride because my son wasn't listening to hip hop and rap he and his friends were listening to great southern rock infused country, I can now rest easy knowing I raised that one right.

lyrics: The night is my prescription (companion) And the highway is my home Got me seeking for one last beacon Every single place I roam They say Jesus was a poor man I guess I wish I had a little more him in me Make it easier going on living Heart ache and misery Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Have you turned to stone? Well I guess I got my bottle I still hold it all the time But it keeps me smiling and singing Helps me fall asleep a little bit better at night They say life is like a dagger Backstage is full of parasites They love you and drain of everything you own Just to feel better about their life Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Or have you turned to stone? Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Sweet, Sweet love of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is it too far gone? Have you turned to stone?
I went to their concert and they are hands down the best musicians I have seen in my life!!!!!!! Out of this world talented the entire band. True masters of their craft.
Music is subjective, although I've never understood people who feel a need to hit the dislike button. I love this song but just because I do doesn't mean everybody has to. It's one of the things I love about music. Just because it means something to me doesn't mean everybody feels it, and that's a two way street.
They must've had their phone upside down and hit the wrong button. Anyone who could possibly dislike this should have music banned from their lives cause they are whats wrong with todays music.
I agree. Myers is so good man. I dig it. This guy Brett McDaniel is good too. ruclips.net/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/видео.html I've listened to "Stone" maybe 300 times. ahahhah . So much talent out there.
I LOVE this band ! I think of them as a modern version of Skynyrd, amazing talented musicians, great songwriting, a perfect mix of blues, country, rock and southern rock.. I can’t wait to see them live some day .. and damn his voice is amazing
Incredible voice, incredible song, incredible talent. I've had the pleasure of being from an area where this type of music is played by our local bands every weekend. I have played in bands many years and have yet to be disappointed with this guy. Just incredible heart
Don’t ever stop writing songs that’s hard to sing. Your voice is one of a kind, and many enjoy your talents bro!! Reckoning, stone, and my all time favorite “a little more money”!!
Im glad he tells himself to write a song or learn how to sing cause damn that’s to closest that guy will probably get to recognition for his heart and soul being poured out for everyone to see and hear .
The perfect version of a perfect song if I have ever know .....wow...Whiskey Myers all my love and respect to your perfect design of emotion and truth in your music.

I got to see a band with my brother in 2000. He won free tickets from a radio station. We ended up partying with the opening band and hung out on their bus, then we migrated to the middle band's bus and then the headliner's. What I saw on those busses hits real hard when he talks about parasites being backstage. They are with you as long as you are on tour and popular. They will leave you in a heartbeat if you start struggling. Find better people.
Whiskey Meyers how have I never came across this beautiful song writer who plays the guitar while singing to the soul . I AM HAPPY MUSIC LOVER TONIGHT FINDIMG THIS .. TY

I too have also just discovered this amazing singer/songwriter and the band he sings with such an amazing voice and such passion
The pain it takes to sing like this must've been terrible
Yeah,he's obviously stoned.(which I'm ok with) and I stay on my bottle quiet often myself.
I can listen to this rendition everyday for the rest of my life and it will never get old.
Yeah, it's great. It's raw, has a couple alternate lyrics, and i like how cody calls it out mid song for being tough to sing. Even though he killed it

Make it easier going on living
Heart ache and misery
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Have you turned to stone?
Well I guess I got my bottle
I still hold it all the time
But it keeps me smiling and singing
Helps me fall asleep a little bit better at night
They say life is like a dagger
Backstage is full of parasites
They love you and drain of everything you own
Just to feel better about their life
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Or have you turned to stone?
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Sweet, Sweet love of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is it too far gone?
Have you turned to stone?

I love you Grace 🤩
those lyrics are just amazing
I went to their concert and they are hands down the best musicians I have seen in my life!!!!!!! Out of this world talented the entire band. True masters of their craft.
Now this is what REAL MUSIC is...Love this song more than anything out there right now...means so much 2me.
Absolutely
All you who disliked this have zero appreciation for great music
The ppl who dislike this jackass god bless Virginia
Music is subjective, although I've never understood people who feel a need to hit the dislike button. I love this song but just because I do doesn't mean everybody has to. It's one of the things I love about music. Just because it means something to me doesn't mean everybody feels it, and that's a two way street.
They must've had their phone upside down and hit the wrong button. Anyone who could possibly dislike this should have music banned from their lives cause they are whats wrong with todays music.
This song is called a couple times and again, play on Cody Cannon
I agree. Myers is so good man. I dig it. This guy Brett McDaniel is good too. ruclips.net/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/видео.html I've listened to "Stone" maybe 300 times. ahahhah . So much talent out there.
This is such a timeless song. It'll forever be a part of my playlist💯 hats off fellas

Musical morphine in my ears..... Can't stop listening!!!!
I LOVE this band ! I think of them as a modern version of Skynyrd, amazing talented musicians, great songwriting, a perfect mix of blues, country, rock and southern rock.. I can’t wait to see them live some day .. and damn his voice is amazing
I’m tryin… promise… no matter what, I’ll never give up on US
Chris Stapleton, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, Whiskey Myers the greats of today
A few of the not so known anyways great song bound to go down in the books
Incredible voice, incredible song, incredible talent. I've had the pleasure of being from an area where this type of music is played by our local bands every weekend. I have played in bands many years and have yet to be disappointed with this guy. Just incredible heart
chris wimberly Where is this amazing place? I’m clearly missing out!
#What a sweet, sweet heart you had...I still miss you..❤
This always makes me think of someone. No matter what, they’ll always have a piece of my heart.
Me too. Tough.
Don’t ever stop writing songs that’s hard to sing. Your voice is one of a kind, and many enjoy your talents bro!! Reckoning, stone, and my all time favorite “a little more money”!!
ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I BEEN TO AT TAYLORVILLE IL SOUTH FORK DIRT RIDERS , HE GAVE US HIS PICK !!!!!
I love how he's too drunk to talk but he can sing so beautifully. If there was ever a definition of art I think I just said it.
Thank you RUclips for showing us these awesome artists! 🔥👍🍻
One of the best I've heard in my 60yrs man what a performance

Still sooooo perfect!!
been listening since 2017. Never gets old.
Redeeming my faith in Country music.
This is why I love slacker radio, red dirt road station. The station is always playing real country
Try red barn radio my friend
Perfect setting for this song. Love this one. On my list, listen often.
TY
My God I love this song so much..I'm not so sure where I am going but I will make sure I play it for the ride
I'm listening in 2023 & will keep on listening for a long time!! Love love love these guys!!
This song saved my life.
Thank God that you found something to hold on to, welcome back from the edge.
