    You saved me !!
    My wife and I were on a road trip in the middle of nowhere when this started leaking

    I use to say the same thing about them gluing the hoses on back when I was working in the GM dealerships especially the heater hoses. Can't believe they made such an important hard to get to part so cheap, make it out of metal and it would last a lifetime. Thanks for another great video on transit repairs.

    Thanks for the tips and advice. Yep, its going to be as hard to get to as I was afraid it would be.

    Great Day Im glad I found your channel, 2015 transit cargo, chasing coolant leak for a year , had it at dealer bucket empty no leak found, pressure test for a day and overnight cant find anything, once in a while it will leave a spot on driveway, you gave areas to look for, grrr, hope I can find it. 🙂 keep up the awsumm job.✌

    I was on the side of the road lol and this is exactly what's happening with my truck ..the front T on my front hose broke I replace it now its taking longer to overheat but the problem moved to exactly what your showing in a video it overheats than leaks in that spot after

    We just looked at a used 2016 3.5 Ecoboost that the owner says loses coolant. The reservoir was all but empty. The vehicle drove great and the reservoir had pressure in it after the drive. After watching your video though I suspect we would be in a time consuming and costly world attempting to fix what is likely going on in this vehicle.
    Bummer because we liked it. Great videos though!

    Thanks for the video, I have a 2015 with 125k, keeping my fingers crossed. But it’s all a matter of time, especially in Florida. I might just go ahead and get the part just so I have it. 👍

    Have any of you broken the thin plastic heater line that goes in the middle of the reserve and replaced it with a rubber heater hose instead? I am about to try that out with my Transit because it broke in my hand as soon as I pulled it out. 3/16 heater hose seems to be the right tight fit though I might also put clamps. If anyone tried this out and it worked permanently please let me know. I am talking about part number CK4Z8B081C or Dorman 626-691. I'm not sure the flexible rubber hose will remain stretched so I will use some cable ties and hold the new hose against the plastic line near the radiator and the thicker coolant hose near the reservoir.

    Question: With our cargo work van, couldn't we just do the bypass you showed @3:30 as a permanent fix to eliminate the 'T' altogether?

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  11 месяцев назад +1

      Most cargo vans don't have the t because they have no rear heater core. If you are eliminating the rear heater core you can just buy the hose assembly for a cargo transit and yes it will eliminate the T

    Great Video. I was wondering if there a lot of these leaks on Transit 350 2015-2018. Also, are you seeing Oil leaks and where in these vehicles?

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  3 года назад +3

      Yes there are in fact I just did another one of these hose assemblies today and did a coolant reservoir yesterday. They are worse on the turbos than the NA engines. And yes they do seem to have problems with oil leaks mainly on the front cover that's been a problem with the 3.7 and the 3.5

    • @natehess7663

      I've had oil leaking or more seeping out at the front cover. I believe the timing cover half way down passenger side.
      2017 transit 150 3.7.
      Been there since 24k now 70k. Still seeping no drips.
      And some seepage at the valve covers on top front the 2 1" diameter plugs on the top front of each valve cover. Again no drips but just damp. Been like that for 3yrs since about 25k.

    Any tips for doing the driver side turbo removal on a 2015? I've got to the coolant connectors on the turbo.

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  Год назад

      It's really just the same just in reverse, the fuse box is a bit in the way so you can unbolt that and move it out of the way if you like. I would recommend replacing the oil pressure switch while you are there since it doesn't get any easier

      Yeah I just got the same one. Works really well. Bad news is it’s the driver side coolant turbo inlet fitting leaking 😭. Good news it’s it’s only noticeable after it sits for a day or so and not while it’s hot

    My 2017 150- 3.7 is loosing coolant. Seems to b coming from the front intake manifold. Ther is a stainless steel tube going thru some black foam along valve cover towards the back. I do see a joint on the stainless pipe I think it may b leaking ther or the intake manifold.
    Im not sure if this stainless pipe holds coolant? Anyone know?
    I suspect possibly the reservoir ball. And the line he mentioned from the top of radiator to the coolant ball is definitely getting brittle/hard along spots.
    I lost frustrating to me ford cannot make plastics that can hold up to the heat cycles under the hood. That is not an impossible thing. It's a big oversight on ther engineers if u ask me. And Y have they not changed the material?!!! Like WT_

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  2 года назад

      Yes it does its what evacuates hot coolant from the engine to go back to the radiator

    I have a leak on my 2020 transit and I cannot find information ANYWHERE all the coolant lines are good but somewhere at the back of the motor (3.5 Duratec) ALL the coolant blew out of the motor I cannot tell WHERE it is coming from but it's like between motor and transmission... Have any idea??

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  7 месяцев назад

      sonds like it may be coming from the jiffytite connectors for the coolant turbo lines there are two on the back of the block right above the transmission.

    • @medtec6747
      @medtec6747  Год назад

      It's a very good chance it's leaking from this plastic junction I show you in this video. It really only leaks under pressure and it sprays right on the exhaust which vaporizes it making it a very smelly yet puddelless leak if that makes sense
