Tibor Pinter plays on the sample set of the Gottfried Silbermann organ (1722) in St. Mary Church, Roetha, Germany. Illustrations: Organs of Gottfried Silbermann.
Thank you so much, Tibor, for posting this. My mother played the prelude years ago (1970s) and I remember sitting by her organ as a little girl listening to her practice. It's my favorite Bach piece.
Stephanie Millard This I my favorite Bach fugue prelude. My first exposure to it as a child was unforgettable as the giant church organ speaker was right next to me in a choir loft. The organ volume was full out, especially the bass pedal volume. The sound went right through me and almost scared me to death with its awesomeness.
Belle performance bravo ! Je suis justement en train d'étudier ce prélude et fugue avec mon prof. Je trouve que la fugue est un peu lente pour moi et les notes un peu trop piquées. Est-ce un choix ? En tout cas j'adore la registration.

Best performance I have found so far, and not too fast unlike many. I would never have guessed this was sampled rather than the real thing.
Thank you for posting! I'm playing this on Sunday and wanted to hear how others are playing it. Nicely done, and what beautiful pictures!
Excellent performance of a beautiful piece,
Great interpretation, I'll work harder now to play it like this !
And this is Hauptwerk? Amazing. And nice playing!
I never heard this song before but this is a masterpiece

+Jacques Paquin Thanks! It is really one of the fimest baroque organs.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Very nice!! I played this years ago, and I need to rework it....this is good inspiration to do so
I'm glad to hear that! Many thanks!
The temperament of the organ is higher by a semitone. I play in G minor of course.
Love this.
Thanks for your comment!
@LutheranVespers Thanks! Have a success on Sunday!

Merci pour votre comment. Qui, la mode "piquée" et la tempo lent il y a mon choix.
This is in G# minor... But the music is in G minor??? Still a really good performance.
I thing the fugue is a bit slow but great interpretation overall
