I applied for my first-time passport on Thursday, Feb 01, 2024, sending all requested documents and payment at the time of application at USPS local office of a rural Oklahoma town with a population of less than 15k. The USPS clerk informed me that it would be 8 to 12 wks for passport and documents sent to return. To my absolute surprise, my both the international tourist passport and the domestic wallet size card for sea travel arrive on Valentines Day, Wednesday Fab 14, exactly 13 days after my application. One wk later, on Feb 22, my proof of citizenship (birth certificate) was returned. To think that on Feb 1, I would renew my vehicle registration tag, purchasing the 2 yr sticker on a new replacement number plate, it would arrive on Fri, May 4th, taking 94 days from ordering to arrival.
HELP! HELP! I have been waiting since 10/10/2023 to receive US Passport renewal. I'm in danger and my Philippine VISA expired while I was recovering from back surgery in Manila.
The US passport is declining in power soon you’ll have to apply for visas. The Canadian passport is now the most powerful in North America. I believe in 5 years the US passport will rank 20th in the world

I'm renewing mine. Sent priority mail on a Monday and they had cashed my check by Thursday that same week.

I paid for regular processing. Got it in 2.5 weeks.
BS.Still waiting over a month for expedited.No notice of any kind .April to May 2024.

Hopefully, this trend will continue, ensuring that passport renewal becomes a smoother and more efficient process for everyone.
It's 2023, their should an online option to renew.

Passport hostage is what I am now complete with surrendering my current passport
Why do we still need a physical passport?
Because most people need it to travel, I hope that makes sense😅

State Department has terrible software and that shuts the system down at least once a year. Unless they get new software, this will happen again.
