Great video, did the Maryland portion of the AT last May and love it. Originally being from SoMd I have been to a couple of the parks there. Now living in Central MD, I absolutely love Cotoctin and Harpers Ferry. Thanks for sharing your list.
I have been to all of them ! Appalachian trail is one of my favorite to hike. Hampton Mansion is rich in history. Assateague Island, the beach, wild horses..love, love MD has to offer!
Catoctin Mountain Park appears to be north of the Brunswick B&O Railroad Line end at Frostburg as line is cut north of Frederick towards Gettysburg. As we are driving up U.S. 15 from Frostburg MD and turn left on MD 550 that whole area towards Catoctin and Western Maryland Railroad. Railways Pen Mar Park including the Appalachian Trial is filled with railroad, Civil War, and more history from PA south to Hapers Fetty VA now WV and beyond.
I lived in Ellicott City for 35 years and most people from Maryland do not know anything about these Parks. I was fortunate to have visited most of these Parks because I was in the Education Field and took my kids to most of these Parks. 😮😊
Really? The inspiration for the "Star Spangled Banner" is too small for you? Wow. I was bred, born and raised in Maryland, sir. I find your comment disturbing.
@@rogerarvizu5558 there is the C&O National Park on the Maryland side of Great Falls and the VA side also has a park. The Billy Goat trail runs all along the Maryland side of the park and it is really fun to hike with all the rock scrambles. SO both states have a park there.

I live very close to the Catoctin National park, we took our granddaughters there - took them on part of the trail. Very pretty and woodsy. There's also a very cool zoo across the street from the actual entrance to the park, Catoctin which we all enjoyed.
We've been to Assateague, Ft. McHenry, Cotoctin, Harpers Ferry, & The Harriot Tubman. We've also been to Pemberton Park in Wicomico County & Mallard Landing in the Pocomoke River State Park in Worcester Co. Both are amazing places to visit in Maryland as well.
Fantastic video, I really enjoyed it. Ft. Washington park is one of my local favorites for exploring and jogging the trails , especially during the sunset hrs.
Hey, Im in north Georgia. I video parks and places to eat and stuff. I love your content! Im also getting some pointers from you on how to do my videos better!
Interesting and nicely done video. Two MD National Parks that were not mentioned but are my favorites are the C&O Canal and Towpath (184 miles long from Georgetown DC to Cumberland MD) and Great Falls National Park. Great Falls is spectacular and has Class V whitewater. The Mather Gorge just below the Falls is also spectacular and a geological phenomenon. The Billy Goat Trail is a favorite and extremely technical and difficult hike/rock scramble along the Potomac just below Great Falls. You actually access Great Falls and the Billy Goat Trail from the C&O Canal Towpath. The Towpath is a great place to ride bicycles.

Very poorly done research, sir, Fort Washington wasn't built during the Civil War time frame, but in 1809, and was most active during the war of 1812. The reenactment you are talking about and even showing a picture is from the war of 1812, not the Civil War. Pay more attention next time you go there, sir.
