THERE IS NOTHING TO DO IN WALDORF MD
My family moved to Waldorf in 1976. The only people who think Waldorf is a great place now are the ones who don't know how cool this town was before all the growth and crime ruined the place. Yeah it's not as bad as Baltimore, DC or parts of PG county but, if you are from here you hate what it's turned into.
Yup. Lived in Carrington from 79-94. I remember how great it was as a kid running the roads on my bike. What a great place to grow up, now….not so much
25 years ago Waldorf was great , it's a get now.had to move
Same
Packing my stuff as we speak.
I’m from Maryland!! Marylanders unite.
I love Waldorf. Since I moved here 8 years ago my house has increased $100,000 in value $$$!
My Dad worked with one of the owners of the WigWam at USDA. Too young to play the slot machines but great food. First time I ever saw roast beef carved off the bone. Real treat for a kid
Waldorf is a nice place to move to is you like to fish. There are plenty of lakes and ponds filled with bass, crappie and bluegill.
I appreciate this video
This video is accurate, but I would have added several things. (1) Half of greater Waldorf consists of the sprawling planned community of Saint Charles, constructed gradually over the past 50+ years (and still growing) which includes several "village centers", each built around various lakes circled by scenic walking paths...(2) Waldorf has a year-round Ice rink (capital clubhouse)... and a minor-league baseball team (blue crabs)....(3) the full length of the paved, Indian Head trail the speaker mentioned, is 14 miles....(4) Waldorf has commuter busses to D.C. (although the traffic is beyond horrible), as well as local intra-county busses....(5) Waldorf has 2 public libraries...one of them is large and modern, and a large community-college (C.S.M.) nearby, as well as a magnet vocational high-school (north point)....(6) Five county high.schools, and the college, have public swimming pools.
Don’t forget the crime.
Live here Love it
I’m from indian head md I used to drive through Waldorf I miss the area now I’m in Las vegas
ZyloMisTic _ come back😢😂
Where in indian head
@@stephm6202 I live in Vegas now and I think it's hands down better than Charles County lol. I live on the outskirts in a great neighborhood though. If the original poster lives in East or North Vegas I can see why he or she hates it lol. Those areas are as ghetto as PG County.
Wow someone talking bout Waldorf that's crazy
Awesome vid man! (Also, my daughter did her internship in MD!)
Question, do you know if there are any farms one can purchase meats from? I don’t mind driving for great quality meats.
Depends on what part of Maryland you live in. If you live anywhere close to Charlotte hall they have the largest Amish community in all of Maryland there and have fresh meats for sale. Highly recommend
Trampolines, miniature golf, trails??? Endless strip mall that's all. Might try the New York Italian Deli, Cracker Barrel and Cheddars (some people say be wary).
Trust me, don't move to waldorf unless you're coming from DC or baltimore, you'll feel right at home.
Jajaja
🤣🤣🤣
I live here and it’s not soo bad like people make it out to be. The one’s that say they hate it most likely live in crappy parts of Waldorf
@BIRD Bird 😂😂😂😐
moved to waldorf in 1980, it sucks, stores come and go mostly go, have the highest taxes, traveled 1.5 to 2hrs one way to DC ever day to work., national parks: ft Washington that's it. positive point is the cops are better than PG county
I live in the forest of waldorf and its actually quite peaceful
yeah, there are some nice areas in Waldorf. Our house backed up to woods and it was real peaceful.
Pretty good, accurate report but as someone who has lived in southern Maryland much of my life, I would add a few things. First, Charles County has quite a spillover from ghastly Prince George's County. Some of the worst neighborhoods in PG County are only fifteen minutes away- Oxon Hill, Suitland, Temple Hills, Coral Hills, Silver Hill, District Heights. Anacostia is half-an-hour away. Charles County schools are terrible. At one time, Waldorf had several strip joints. I don't know whether that is the case today.
Charles county has been overrun. Just a glimpse of where this nation is headed.
Waldorf schools rank pretty much, in the middle nationally, in performance, and the town also has two, K-12 Christian schools (Grace, and SMCA). I get the feeling, there are often student fights. If people want better-rated public schools, they can move to other counties which either have much more expensive housing, or which are an even longer commute to D.C.....And Charles County no longer has any strip-joints.
Good grief. You act as if all of PG county is bad.....It isn't.
@@isaacfox732 What part of the county isn't? Screw Afghanistan, the government should bomb PG County and start over. That place is a dump.
Give your input on Lexington Park, Md
Crime
Country Waldorf
I’m from Waldorf not great but not terrible down here🦀
Waldorf is southern MD right? Nice video, man.
yeah, but it's not WAAAY southern Maryland.
You forgot to mention all the crime along with the shootings and stabbings that go on there. Waldorf sucks, used to be a cool place in the 60's & 70's. The 80' were ok along with the 90's. But after that it's no good.
Watching
Cheddars is actually in Brandywine
Wish you folks could have seen how great is was in the 80’s 😢
Can you tell me more because I was looking to buy a house I La Plata and it’s seems to be ok
@@audrianaharris6707 parts of LaPlata are ok. Phoenix run is a nope. Almost any single family home there is fine. Most of the townhomes are fine expect Phoenix run but we haven’t had a shooting there since last fall.
Move "down" ha-ha!
I moved "up" from Florida! 👍😊
My dad lives in waldorf
You forgot one thing you have to do now in Waldorf......dodge bullets!
Napoli's Pizzeria has the best calzones I've ever had. Pizza was just ok.
Their pizza is pretty meh. Its not greatest pizza.
The coded language in these comments is draining.
@@ljalfjalfjlaj nobody can tell you the truth about Waldorf on RUclips because it gets censored. :)
@@ljalfjalfjlaj how about all the shootings and murders from DC gangs.
@@ljalfjalfjlaj how about the opioid epidemic from PG county?
@@ljalfjalfjlaj how about the string robberies and muggings, car thefts, break-ins.
@@ljalfjalfjlaj how about the decrepit buildings and under maintained roads?
Aye y’all don’t come ova here it’s ghetto es still
Who remembers Stardust and nickel beer night? Kix? DC Star? We use to eat at the Desert Inn and then see the sphagetti westerns at the drive in theatre. St Charles was Waldorf's doom.
I have heard that it may be demolished to build middle to high end homes there. More congestion. My in laws are from there. I'll ask them about this.
The Section 8 housing around Smallwood Village was the nail in Waldorf's coffin. The mall actually gave families in SoMD something to do.
JM , I rented a one bedroom townhome in Smallwood village when I first got out of the service.
@@JM-hn6vg My in laws have told me that the mall has gone down hill with many stores leaving. They're looking to tear it down and build middle income homes which probably translates to a giant future ghetto neighborhood.
OK I'm from White Oak. Lived all over
I was born here I had. No choice but to like it here
Why would anyone move to Waldorf? You only live once... Move to a real city.
We have lots to do
You missed the most important aspect of ANY community and that is hospitals. Also, it would be good to know the school ratings rather than asking viewers to check them out themselves.
Priorities!
Na Fort Washington
I have lived in waldorf all 22 years of my life and I will give anyone the honest truths about living her, if anyone has questions about it I will be more than happy to give my take on it to help!
I love Waldorf great shopping good food and great people.
@@justinwilson957 what part of Waldorf are you talking about?😂. People here are rude as fuck.
@@kyleroberts1276 lol that’s everywhere 😪
Hey Tony I’d like to know how are the gun laws? As I live in California the laws we have suck for law abiding citizens. Thanks in advance
To the person who has never been to Waldorf and doesn't know about what is really going on in Waldorf with the "cultural shift" as you so politely put it... it's more like a take over and not a shift. It used to be pretty rural and safe with acceptable schools etc. It was never a fancy place by any means, but it was safe and traffic was never really an issue. Well my how times have changed. I wish they would just annex it to PG County and let Charles return to the safe, rural and sleepy county that it used to be.
Waldorf seems very cool!
iiOmqJazii I’ve lived here my whole life we all hate it
Andrew Shelak lol, can’t be that bad! Well I love it here in Odenton, MD.
Waldorf used to be a nice place to live until DC and PG county moved south. Now it's a shithole.
It is.
JAZTV it’s nice especially for starting a family
Waldorf is disgusting 😂😂😂😂😂 I hate it here
Do not go to freds outdoors and guns they discriminate on who they want to help if your not their skin color. I was picking up and it took over 30mins to get it since one gentleman behind the desk wanted to talk about Christmas to a friend of his instead of actually helping a paying customer and the other 2 were busy with customers looking at guns. I will never forget. You can only shoot handguns, no shotguns or rifles.
Do you scream racial discrimination every time you get shitty service?
@@michaelstillwell3513 I'm white and I went there once and it was pretty much same story, seemed like I was a major inconvenience to them.
@@joemilton7552 I like Big Dog outfitters in king George better.
Yeah that’s what everybody say they pick the people who is their color and make other people wait and don’t help
Very true. I called on the phone and asked question and i felt like I was bothering the man who answered. He didnt want to answer my question, so he transferred me to someone else that never came to the phone so I hung up. That’s why their reviews are bad.
Number one thing to know before moving to Waldorf, Md. Don't.
Things to know before moving to Waldorf Maryland: don't
True, I hate it here. :)
@@TheRealHusk could you say what you hate about it please. I’m curious cause I just moved here 6 months ago and it’s better than Germantown Maryland. I’m thinking if you’re young I can understand. But if you have a car you can go anywhere to have fun.
@@healingtyme182 you’re pretty dumb, people aren’t getting fucking shot in the face in Germantown.
