- In this video, I visited four stadiums in my bid to tick off all 42 SPFL clubs before the end of 2020!
I saw the homes of Clyde FC, Stenhousemuir FC, Stirling Albion FC and Alloa Athletic FC.

My grandfather used to be treasurer of Stenhousemuir FC. They have fans in Norway who come over for games. Tim Horton's has just recently appeared in Stenhousemuir. Where that stands, it used to be the McCowan's Toffee Factory. Famous highland toffee... which is why they have statues of highland cows across the road at the shopping centre. It was bought over by Nestle in the late 80's I think. It also used to do the popular Wham Bars.
Stenhousemuirs local rivals are Eaststirlingshire, they groundshared untill the shire moved to the Falkirk stadium, there is no love lost between the two sides, they played regularly untill the shire were relegated to the lowland league
Ah cool good to know thanks for that!
When you do come up to check out Cove and Aberdeen highly recommend stopping past The Bay fish and Chip shop in Stonehaven best place for battered scampi or fish supper.
Sounds class!
Just suggest the same thing myself.
@Ian Concannon lol .
You can always give them a phone & see what they say I am sure they could do with a laugh.
Good video I enjoyed it all throughout. It's so interesting seeing all these different stadiums and in terms of their designs and looks, very nice.
Much appreciated!
Nice to see Alloa getting a mention. Most famous players include Wee Willie Crilley, John White (Spurs Fame), Tommy Hutchinson (Man City Fame) and more recently Michael Chapman (Newcastle & Cardiff Fame). Was Recreation Park but now Indodrill Stadium (Sponsorship). Most fans dislike the badge as it depicts a Hornet and not a Wasp (please change it back). Keep up the great work !
Ah fair enough, cheers for those facts! Glad you're still enjoying the vids!
@@FootyAdventures I obviously meant Michael Chopra and Not Chapman (blooming spellchecker).
@@ianmcleish1957 😂
You can go and see clydes old stadium, it's not far from celtic and its used for greyhound racing now.
Been there to watch the greyhound racing very run down like 😂😂
Yeah definitely! Will do!
That's a place full of history. Had 52000 in there once. Used to draw a lot of their support from the Rutherglen area of Glasgow.
@@DavidUKesb Oh cool!
@@FootyAdventures Actually there is another staduim in Parkhead that was used for boxing
Bridge heading towards duke street were the forge is
I doubt there will be much left anymore
Shawfield is Clyde 2and home though
Also do the Hampden bowling club off Cathcart road
It's a half mile doon road from Cathkin park
It's the 1st Hampden if you really want to taste the history
Maybe do that on a double were you head to Partick first to West of Scotland cricket club were the first Scotland England game was played?
Great video mate! The commitment is unreal, 10k subs is coming soon🤩
Cheers mate!
Clyde are a Glasgow/Rutherglen club! Moving to Cumbernauld was like Wimbledon moving to Milton friggin Keynes. Crazy decision!
Ah really? I hadn't realised that!
@@FootyAdventures Where do you think.they got the name from? P s Clyde won the Scottish cup in 1955 with a crowd of 900000!. Look at the attendances.now!
Stenhousemuir stadium is beauty, i like your channel and the scottish football, greets from argentina
That’s my favourite name for a Scottish club
Fair play for doing 4 grounds in one day!! Another great watch...cheers 👍
Thanks as ever Ben 👍 Glad you enjoyed!
Cracking vid as always Sam ,love lookin at these grounds you visit.... keep up the good work 👌
Thanks mate! Really appreciate that!
gutted you could not get in sam i was gutted we could not see the insides loving these scottish ones such awll presented blog i have been recomending this blog to all my mates be lucky steve
Cheers Steve! Love the way you're making your way through my vids 👍 what kinds of videos do you prefer? Matches, stadium tours, adventures where I visit multiple?
@@FootyAdventures stadiums mate as i said love to see the surronding areas would love to see palmerstone queen of the south was my dream to go there never happen now sadly best blog i have ever seden different class mate steve
@@stevenspraggs4953 nice OK. I've filmed 4 videos over the past few days in the Highlands. I've tried to show a bit about the towns as much as the teams too 👍😊
I played for Clydebabk under 15s in 1994 lol. Just watched the Clydebank video.
My brother Eddie played professionally with Clyde at the start of his career then went to play for Dundee.
Great videos.
That's quality! Thanks for watching. Hope it brought back some good playing days!
Another great one.
GOAT OF VLOGS !
Much appreciated!!
I am more into Scottish football now just by watching your videos. keep it up!
Awesome! Thank you!
Another great video mate. Enjoyed it. There's a ship on Clyde's crest, by the way, because the Clyde is famous for shipbuilding. The QE2 for instance, was built on the Clyde.
Normally you would get a pie at half time (or a steak bridie if you are a Pars fan). I've got nice memory of visiting Ochilview's pie shed at HT where there was some "old wife" stirring a massive pot of homemade lentil soup whilst serving a massive hungry queue of supporters. It went down a treat in the middle of a harsh Scottish winter standing behind the goals. Top class HT "scran". I'm sure we won 1-0 as well! Soup-erb
Awesome video Sam! Shame you could only get into 1 stadium, nice to see them all regardless though! Keep it up man!
Cheers mate! Hope to get inside the others at some point
You are an entertaining presenter. You make these videos watchable even though you don't support the teams.
Only stadium I have been to out of these 4 is Clyde. Killie played them in the cup & our team had former U17 World Cup golden boot winner Souleymane Coulibaly making his Killie debut. Once you eventually get around to Ross County you need to check out The Mallard pub. It’s really quirky and has a very unique beer garden out the back.
People never understand the buzz of visiting football stadium, especially ones with character which pretty much excludes most modern stadia. More please....
Been to Stirling Albion 2015 watching my team Oldham Athletic in a friendly.
Oh nice, thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video mate brilliant again 👏👏
Cheers mate!
Clyde got nice wee ground ..the size of this football club look like Championship or SPL clubs.. hope they get up championship very soon..
The 'spire thing" you mention in Stirling is the Wallace Monument, which also appears on Stirling Albion's badge. It's a monument to William Wallace aka Braveheart.
@The Phantom I should have said as seen in Braveheart, but given the ludicrous inaccuracies in that film another one hardly matters. They left out the bridge in the Battle of Stirling Bridge!
That's right, the Wallace Monument! Yep, I'll get there soon for a vlog.
I was wondering who it was walking down there in alloa 😂😂 great to know it was you
Haha you saw me? Should've said hi!
@@FootyAdventures I had no idea who it was at first didn't just want to walk up and startle you 😂😂 if I ever see you again in alloa I'll stop and say hi 🤣
Superb mate. I would say come down to Dumbarton my home town there is only one stand. Do Albion Rovers and Airdrie 👍🏻
Cheers mate! Done all three of those teams! Loved Dumbarton btw
@@FootyAdventures very unique mate
@@noseyrenda so cool with the castle next to it!
Might not look it from the outside (mainly due to the weather), but from the stand behind the goals at Alloa you can get (imo) the best view in Scottish football, on a clear day the backdrop of the ground is a great view of the Ochil Hills, Google it, you wont be disappointed mate 👍🏼
Fort William wins that every day of the week, which is good because a lot of the time you want to look anywhere but the pitch :D
@@LB1973 well aye, but thats pretty much an empty field with goals 🤣 was up there last season in the Scottish Cup, amazing scenery but not much of a ground tbh
@@Andy-ko5eu its all we have :(
By "the spire thing" i assume you dont mean the monument to scotlands greatest patriot, William Wallace?
Really enjoying your tours. Being scottish but overseas during this pandemic its a wee bit of home for me. :)
Ah cool, really glad I'm able to show a bit of back home to you! And yes I meant the Wallace monument haha!
Scottish in Mexico here too! Im in Veracruz.

@@madskalvenes467 Oh cool thanks man! Hope I can watch some games there one day!
Great vid and love the passion you have know what you mean about not being able to get in....anyway good luck with the other 21
Thanks Richard! Much appreciated!
I liked the video when you visited Fir Park and it was unusual to see you calling it the South Lanarkshire Derby between them and accies as not many people outside of Scotland do know that and they don't know that even though motherwell resides in North Lanarkshire its called the South Lanarkshire Derby due to the fact they are the most Southern of the Lanarkshire teams...so its good to see someone doing their homework on Scottish football 😊✌
It's like watching Garry Monk tour football grounds ;-)
I'm sure he could do that now he's been given his P45 from Wednesday
HAHAHA
Clyde used to play at Shawfield Stadium which i think still gets used for greyhound racing in Rutherglen in Glasgow good video again
Great video yet again, well done.
Thank you!!!
I'm from Stirling and I love the spier thing it is the Wallace moument
Good timing to come to Stirling Albion 😂 it’s our 75th anniversary
Oh nice! Happy birthday Stirling!
I can remember the Albion's 25th anniversary in 1970! 👍
Stirling University is the sports hub for athletes in Scotland of which Stirling Albion I believe is part of.
Alloa Athletic who play the theme to the A Team when they score. Car Park could do with bei g tarmacked
great video mate when fans are allowed back in can you go to a Edinburgh derby
When you stop at Stranraer's stadium, on the way down the A77 you should stop at the Varyag Memorial built by the Russians on the coast for an old cruiser that sank!
I hope more clubs give you more support with your channel and let you in
Funny you should mention that... Stenhousemuir video coming this sunday!
I went to a wrestling event in stenhousemuir football ground with my dad.
It was a 3 match card with the Coffey's facing Stevie Boy and Kenny Williams; Mike Musso faced Solar; And Grado faced Jack Jester in a match that spilt into the stands.
Oh nice! Multi use stadium!
@@FootyAdventures I think ur next 4 stadium u should visit
Dunfermline
Cowdenbeath
Raith rovers
East fife
Cause there all in the fife area and are derby between them.
The Fife derby is a football rivalry that is based in Fife, Scotland. Matches are contested between any two SPFL clubs from Dunfermline Athletic, Raith Rovers (based in Kirkcaldy), East Fife (representing the Levenmouth area) and Cowdenbeath.
@@williamfrew3949 Funny you should mention that, I've been meaning to do a Fife video for ages!
@@FootyAdventures see I’m a rangers fan and it’s good what ur doing so when u do the fife once at least u can say that all the teams ur doing in fife is the fife derby before the 4 clubs
@@FootyAdventures than after u do them here can be ur next one
The Angus derby is a football rivalry that is based in Angus, Scotland. Matches are contested between any two SPFL clubs from
Arbroath,
Montrose,
Forfar Athletic and
Brechin City.
All four sides regularly compete within the same leagues and therefore often face each other, and it is rare to find a season without a matchup between at least two of the Angus teams. So means u can cover like derby at the same time
Hey man, loving the content. I support Dunfermline Athletic (Scottish Championship side). You should go and visit the stadium probably one of the best in Scotland and I'm not even being biased.
Hey mate! thanks really glad you like the vids. Yep dunfermline coming soon... cant wait!
@@FootyAdventures Also, there are 3 other SPFL grounds around Dunfermline. Cowdenbeath, East Fife and Raith Rovers, so you could do 4 SPFL grounds in 1 day again if that makes it easier!
Alloa athletic F.C has the coolest badge, I love it
Glasgow city's home stadium this season (until their actual stadium opens again) is broadwood.
Nice!
Fun fact, hibs have set up a partnership with stenhousemuir.
Football Without Fans is Nothing
Agreed!
Mate dont stand on a petrol forecourt with an electrical device, as if you had to drop it, it could spark an explosion!
Great video BTW!!
Enjoyed the video great to see these grounds @ billingham Synthonia fc v jarrow fc northern league today Oct 24 for now the we can see a game live.
P.s I met Paul Gascoigne outside the stadium the day Clyde played Rangers. 👍🏻
Wow!
Sam, you need to know that Stirling Albion don't own the ground, or anything around it. Stirling council owns the lot. The club still can't get in there to train themselves right now. Don't turn up on spec. Contact the club, explain who you are, point them to the videos you have on you tube and if they can, they'll probably work something out for you. They are very approachable people, so don't be nervous. Good work and all the best.
You should visit fife. Dunfermline are a relatively good club with a decent history. There’s also East Fife, Raith Rovers and Cowdenbeath.

You should do a video on
Andrew Watson
how is widely believe to be the first ever black international football player ever he played for
Scotland he also played for
Queen Park & The Original Corinthians amongst other clubs.
When you come up to the highlands you can do Ross County ICT Peterhead Cove and Aberdeen all in 1 day
That's a lot of driving!
@@FootyAdventures well
Ross County to ICT is 13 miles
ICT to Peterhead is 107 miles
Peterhead to Aberdeen is 32 miles
Aberdeen to Cove is 4 miles
@@garymacdonald6184 Its not exactly motorway though :D Remember he has to come from Glasgow, so to get to Ross Co is 180miles (do the A9 (and get St Johnstone) not the A82 which is slightly shorter but much slower unless you want Fort William :)) and to get back from Cove is 145mles - decent road though.
@@LB1973 if he comes up the night before he can do St Johnstone on the way up and then drive up stay over night and start at a descent time he can get all 5 teams in the one day
For some reason Broadwood has cardboard cut out foxes on the stadium roofs!
Yeah I saw that the other night when I was there for a game! Why is that?1
Hope u enjoyed your visit from my home town Cumbernauld mon the bully wee
Thanks, loved it!
Get to the West Midlands and visit blues,Albion,Coventry ,wolves,Walsall ,villa!
Will you be doing Forfar Athletic, just wondering because I have an fm save with them 😂.
Yeah I will be! Did you get them in to Europe? 😀

Would love to see you visit Pittodrie in Aberdeen and maybe go to Hibs as well. Love the vids though!
Sam already went to both
Easter Road & Tynecastle aswell in the same video.
Aberdeen soon! But yeah I did an Edinburgh video a few months ago. Feel like I could go back and do a more in depth look at both clubs though!
Yeh, it will be a shocking journey for Sam along the A90 when in all directions you lot will be shagging the hell out of all the sheep 😳
Someone give this man a pay raise and a mbe because he has kept me sain during COVID. Please can you come to Devon, England, and see Exeter city’s stadium
You make it real Sam.
U should do Angus clubs ie arbroath, brechin, forfar etc. There's a decent wee rivalry between them
So what do you have left? Ross Co, ICT, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Cove - or the far away ones North edition ( you can do most of the Highland League between Aberdeen and Inverness too its just Wick, Brora and Fort William that are outside that lump though there are a few detours.) Arbroath, Forfar, Montrose and Brechin, the not quite as far away ones North.. I think you missed St Johnstone which you really should have bagged on your Dundee trip. Dunfermline, East Fife, Raith and Cowdenbeath or the Fife leg, then Annan, Queen of the South and Stranraer for the far away south edition. Livingston? Edinburgh City?er what else??
Think you're pretty bang on with all of those! Still left are: Aberdeen, Livingston, Ross County, St. Johnstone, Arbroath, Dunfermline, Inverness CT, QOS, Raith, Cove, East Fife, Forfar, Montrose, Peterhead, Annan, Brechin, Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh City, Stranraer!
Go to Falkirk just down the road from stenhousemuir

Haha so true!
Clyde were a east end club they started in Barrowfield next to were Celtic play
And aren't anywhere near the Clyde later moving to Shawfield were the grey hound racing is and then relocated to Cumbernauld new town
Hmm strange they moved so far away
@@FootyAdventures Rangers were a east end club as well to start with
Clyde wouldn't attract crowds with Celtic or there door step
And after Shawfield they thought they could go to a new town and get more supporters
Like Wimbledon moving to Milton Keanes cos they couldn't get support in there area
@@FootyAdventures I been to Barrowfield wasnt aware how close it was to the river
I work in a care home, and decided (pre-restrictions) to see how many stadia we could hit in a beautiful summers day in 2019
We got Dumbarton, Vale Of Leven, Stirling Albion, Alloa, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Murrayfield, Hearts, Hibs & Livingston all in 12 hours. Admittedly, we only stopped outside the ground for a photo but it was an amazing experience. I’m confident that, were it not for roadworks and our driver making several errors, we could’ve hit a good few more as we hoped to get to Glasgow on the way back.
Even if it’s just for something to do on a nice day, even if it’s just to see them from the outside, I recommend a wee ‘Bound Around The Grounds’ as I decided to call it and it was something that our service users loved.
The central belt in Scotland is an absolute gift for this.
Can't wait for St Johnston
Please do a more I'm depth video of Clyde used to play for this team when I was younger
Funny you should say that! I've just been looking into their history this afternoon. Seem like a club I could make a good video about!

Hamilton
South Lanarkshire
Scotland.
Clyde originally played at
Barrowfield Park in the shadows of Celtic Park
Then moved to
Shawfield Stadium in Rutherglen
witch is more of a Greyhound Raceing venue than a football stadium and
before moving to Broadwood Stadium
7 years ago Clyde board members voted to move to East Kilbride & change there name to E.K Clyde but this move never materialised in reality for what reason I do not actually know.
I have heard a lot of people of my Parents generation say Clyde could have relocated to East Kilbride back in the mid 70's when East Kilbride like
Cumbernauld was a rapidly expanding New Town in Scotland one of 6 Scottish So could New Towns.
If you think of Clyde F.C a bit like Livingston F.C a nomadic football is serch of a much larger fan base as both clubs have moved about a fair bit in serch of a much larger fanbase but never actually finding it in reality sadly for both clubs.
Clyde are known as Bully Wee
one explanation for this is as follows.
there was a Victorian phrase bully' which means first-rate or high standard. Clyde were considered first rate but were a small club and that led to them being referred to as the 'Bully Wee Clyde
The second possibility is
A rather more bizarre claim is that the club were visited by a group of French fans in 1900 and there was a disputed goal scored to which the visitors said "But il'y, oui?" (Their goal, yes) and the remark proved so popular with home fans that it stuck.
The last explanation is
comes from their early days in Bridgeton, where some of the inhabitants were known as ‘Wee Bullies’ and this was transposed into the Bully Wee.
Stenhousemuir are known as
The The Warriors always thought that was a good Nickname for a football club myself.
You get a good view of
.Forthbank Stadium, from just outside
Stirling Castle on the hill leading up on a clear day.
You need to vist Stirling again to see
The Castle & The Wallace Monument one of 2 Wallace Monuments in Scotland the other being in my home village of Elderslie whare Sir
William Wallace was apparently born so they say.
People just call
Alloa Athletic Stadium
most people would just call
Recreation Park
When when we say Wasps in Scotland
We say it more like WA - sps with the emphasis on the W & The A.
You should go to Aberdeen next
not jus pittodrie Stadium though
Balmoral Stadium home of
Cove Rangers how also play in Aberdeen how play in The Cove Bay
Suburb on the South - East edge of Aberdeen.
Cove Rangers currently play in
Scottish League 1 after getting promoted from League 2 last season &
The Highland League the year before they are a club that are definitely heading in the right direction on & off the pitch according to what journalists are saying.
Cheers Alan! Love all this info! Clyde seem like an interesting club. I really want to investigate them in a bit more detail and visit all the sites they've played on. It seems like there's a few! On Stirling, yes, I need to do a full vlog there! As well as Aberdeen and the North East!
@@FootyAdventures
As regards Clyde they have moved about a fair few time & there has been a few time there has been discussions about them moving to East Kilbride aswell but with there being a lot of Celtic fan in E.K & there also being a lowland League club & Junior club there I just dont see the logic in that move at all think they would be better staying in Cumbernauld myself.
The town centre is Stirling is very run down like a lot of town centres now a days but there is definitely someone interesting places to visit there.
I was part of a paranormal investigation team back in 2008 & spent ot of time in that area of Scotland because we worked with a Spiritulist medium based near buy.
Would say Stirling is more of a Rugby Union Arena than a football loveing one.
You should probably vist Peterhead F.C aswell if you are heading to North East at some point as that is on the way up.
