  • (2014-2018) KTM 690 Owners: In this complete 'step by step' video Chris shows you everything you will need to know when installing a Rottweiler Intake on your 2014-2018 KTM 690 Enduro. The video is detailed, but the install is easier than you would think.
    (2008-2013) KTM 690 Owners: The 08-11 / 12-13 models can follow this same video, but due to changes in the frames throughout the years, the front mounting brackets are slightly different on these models. See the links below for PDF instructions if needed.

    Great Instruction video. Will be looking forward to get it for the 2019 model (we‘ll see if this one fits or you‘ll have an adopted version)

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  5 лет назад

      Our 2019 version should be ready in mid-July 2019. KTM keeps changing the frame and seat supports so we have to adjust with that so the new parts have been designed and should be out of production a couple weeks from the date of this post.

    For hard enduro or in tropical country with heavy rain, will the intake system be prone to attract water contamination?

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  7 лет назад +3

      We actually just has a customer come to our shop that put 23,000 miles on one filter, through everything you can possibly imagine putting a filter through from South America to the U.S. We actually gave him a new one so we could keep the filter to show people how new it still looked. You can see an interview with the rider on our Facebook page dated August 4th 2017.

    Hi there, great video!!
    I was wondering how the bike would behave with an Akrapovic slip-on with its DB Killer and cat on + the Rottweiler intake system and the PCV remap. It's a 701 supermoto.

    • @kevinblankenship5652
      @kevinblankenship5652 4 года назад

      Your bike will not run.
      An Akro with a cat?
      I put on a Leo Vance with the stock map and air intake and it would fall on its face hard.
      Got a Kevs fuel ratio adjuster for ~$80 and it rips.
      Thinking about the rotwieler intake.

    ..... but there are two hoses that go into the bottom of the air box on 701SM. One from the location depicted in the video from the upper left side of the bike and then another one that comes in from the very bottom of the air box. Once the airbox is completely removed, there are two hose holes, not one.

    Hi great vid will you have a new video or parts for the ktm 690 enduro r 2019 model

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  5 лет назад

      Absolutely! That is in the works and should be ready around mid-July 2019. Same kit but with some seat supports to match that model.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  5 лет назад

      We have the 2019 kit releasing around 7/20/19. That model just takes some different bracketry as KTM keeps changing the frame but it is designed and done and parts are getting laser cut as of 7/1/19.

    Just wondering.. will this unit fit a 2009 690 duke??

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  3 года назад

      It will not unfortunately. The 690 Duke is one bike we never made an intake for as more popular models just had to take front seat to it and by the time we could it just didn't pen out. We get asked about once every 6 months about this bike so it's hard to justify the R&D when there are so many new models. This is not the answer we want to give, but we hope we get points for honesty.

    Is it safe to throw away that crankcase breather hose?

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  4 года назад

      No, you will need some sort of venting for it. A small filter will not do, as that bike pukes so at best a catch tank would be a good idea. Some people run the filters right above the front sprocket as it can double as an oiler.

    How much in power does it increase in performance?

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  7 лет назад

      We have seen as much as 10 to the ground at around 5000 RPM. You can see some dyno charts on same page as the filter that will show typical gains. This has been by far our most popular system along with the 990 LC8 and 1050-1290 engines. Heck, they are all pretty popular.

      The system for the 701 is slightly different but the instructions are almost identical. The written instructions downloadable from the 'downloads/instructions' page on the site will show any differences.

    What bhp extra do you get by doing this and do you need a power commander

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  5 лет назад

      You don't necessarily 'need' a Power Commander, but that's your best bet to extract the most HP from this mod. A set of fueling dongles will be fine (think of just changing a pilot jet) if you are on a budget and want the bike to run smoother, safer and with more power, but installing a Power Commander V (think of an entire jetting kit) will be your best bet and between the PCV and the Rottweiler Intake System you should be seeing about 12 HP to the wheel.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  4 года назад

      With a Powercommander V you get roughly 10-12 HP to the tire. Check the reviews on this page here left by customers. That will say it all. www.rottweilerperformance.com/rottweiler-intake-system-ktm-690-enduro-smc/#ProductReviews

    • @RottweilerPerformance

      @@lukaszg74 It's about 2/3 of the power. The PCV usually adds another half of what you already have gained and really smooths things out.

    The bike won't run lean without a dyno and map? I don't understand I have ordered the rottweiler performance intake for my 701 I would like to know

    • @yamahaman6
      @yamahaman6 5 лет назад +1

      It will run lean with their premapped tune. Idk if it was just cuz im on the complete other side of the US but i was at 18.2AFR!!! Constantly running hot, fan was on almost all the time and i had an oil consumption issue. Took it to my local dyno to get retuned using the PC5. The dual map with ignition adv made absolutely no difference on the computer readout. Did away with the map switch and they tuned it to 13.4afr all across the rpm range so it didn't blow up like the rottweiler tune would have done to it. Cant throttle up wheelie in 3rd anymore but im not boiling oil, running hot, and my engine will last now. Was worth the trade off.
