Greetings
Great video , you always want pipes before the filter but best to use copper ones as that will help you a lot to keep the water/condensation down a lot
Good information! Thanks for sharing. Just a few comments to add. I live in a cool to cold environment for much of the year so when the air is compressed the air temp increases substantially and hot air holds more water than cooler air. Each time the compressed air moves or rests in the compressor system ( air tank or lines the air temp drops each drop in temp allows more water to condense. That's why you need multiple filtering stations or moisture drops. Bad practices ( that would increase this condensation) in cooler climates would be to run your air lines in contact with an outside wall and allowing air hoses to lay on the concrete floor. I'm glad you showed that your air hose was 3/8" ID because if the hose had been 1/4" iID the low restriction air fittings would have been pointless. Good information well presented.
The hiflo couplers I've been using for years, I found they also help my regular air tools perform better. I also have a separate 1/2 hose for the bigger 3/4 + 1" impact guns, also with the hiflo fittings. I'm glad you showed the HTP system, I'll look into it to replace my homemade assortment I have screwed together LoL
Hey thanks for the look into your shop . Its important to remember that above 212° HUMIDITY in the air turns to steam . Under 212° the steam becomes water & air mixed I'm our tanks . Here in Indiana we always have HUMIDITY above 80% . That's a lot of water your aircompreor is making. I used copper pipe out of my compressor ( much like your plastic 50' ) through the copper piping the air cools below 212° and and I remove all water . That makes the air cleaning process much easier your desicant will last longer .. Thanks agin for all the great tips .
The issue I've seen using plastic pipe(PCV) for compressed air line is although it can easily withstand the temps and normal pressures the danger is in the fact that should it be hit ( like a a toolbox or parts table rolling into it ) it is subject to micro cracking and months later the line can fail without showing any signs of fatigue and send shrapnel throughout your shop.
Very informative video not only that but hella informative questions I had in mind but I just kept scrolling and it appears it’s common sense of questions lol thank a pharaway Im hoping to learn with your Chanel as soon I get my set up ready
I was wondering the same thing. I bought some bigger ones this weekend. I finally don’t have run the regulator at the gun wide open to hit 29psi( I normally do 80 at the wall) on my full size HVLP gun. Now I’m can reach 35 no problem.
I use a blinks 2100 with a pressure pot I paint oil pipelines out here in the oil field of West Texas was a auto painter for over 20 years and now a oil field painter LOL God bless brother stay safe
Wow, you are using a dryer AFTER the tank. If you changed the compressor feed to the dryer and back to the tank you simply eliminate 99% of any water vapor even getting into the tank. Then using your filtration system to keep it that way is the BEST Solution and really required little effort. The fact you are using PEX sort of eliminates that possibility due to high temp output of compressor. It would melt the PEX. Had you used copper ( I know cost vs feasibility) that would never be a problem and the increased water vapor elimination would enhance your entire set up. I just looked up your dryer system and prices range from 400+ to 800 bucks. If you put 200 into a copper dryer system and ran the line from the compressor to the copper you would in effect do the same thing, and eliminate water vapor from your tank.
We're in similar climates (I'm in South Louisiana) so you know how hot, humid and generally disgusting it gets down here. Do you wait on the weather at times? Hi there Pharraway! My compressor is a 60 gallon 12.7cfm @40psi single stage, my question is about the piping. Do you recommend me getting 50ft of piping or 25ft? I’m unsure if more piping will cause pressure fluctuations with my compressor. What do you think? Thanks for the reply!

I have people constantly telling me that I should have bought a 80 gallon 2 stage compressor, but I had already bought a single 60 gallon Ingersol rand. I haven't set it up yet. Love your channel, is this compressor capable of running a Da sander and Painting a Full car without Problems.
yes it is
Can you get all the way around a car without stopping for the compressor? I have a 30 gallon with a 3HP non oil electric motor from HD 10.0CFM. Will it make it all the way around?
It will but the compressor will struggle to keep up, I have done it with a 30 gallon compressor but it's a bit hard.
@@PHARRAWAY Thanx and GodBless
So, do you recommend the husky 60 gallon for car painting? You don't have problems with some paint guns or da Sanders, I'm looking to get a bigger compressor than my 29 gallon, but I have seen some reviews not giving the best opinion on the husky 60g, thanks, love the videos
I never had any issues
@@PHARRAWAY thanks brother
Takes about 10 minutes to fill a 60 gallon tank from empty. Does that sound right?
Yes more less
Thanks for the awesome video
Where did you get the gauge for the Max Dry pressure regulator? The setup they currently sell doesn't come with one nor do they show one online?

Hey man, this is probably a dumb question, but I've never painted before so want to make sure I'm doing this right..
I ordered paint from 'ColorMyAuto' and was wondering if you need to add reducer or hardener to the paint. All the description of the paint says is "Made to Order per OE Formula"
Let me know if you have some insight on this for me, thanks :)
I will check it out brother you can email me at pharrawaypaint@gmail.com
@@PHARRAWAY Thank man, just sent you an email :)
