You know I think that if James Earl Jones hadn’t voiced Darth Vader, these movies would be totally different. That deep ominous voice makes the character what it is.
Dude, if they had used the actor's voice who played the physical Darth, it would be a comedy. He had a very specific British accent that even us Brits find hilarious!
That wasn't humor, that was Vader being intimidating to his subordinates. He was actually being super serious. Palpatine is the one most of the IMperials fear more than Vader.
@1984 is now. Funnily enough, early drafts for the treatment for ANH had a little about the Sith in there. If I remember correctly Lucas decided it was too complicated and just muddied the plot. At the time Lucas thought he would only ever get to do one movie though.
Something I always loved about Luke and Leia when compared to their parents in the prequels is how their strongest traits are balanced. Luke is just like his mother and filled with compassion, love, and empathy (Mirroring her last words "There is still good in him.") Leia is her father - a natural leader and extremely passionate about and dedicated to her convictions and cause.
The twins are a balanced embodiment of both parents, really. Thanks to their upbringing. Luke is very similar to Anakin when he was first found on Tatooine, and then matures under guideance. Leia (as we now know via the Kenobi series) was raised similarly to her mother and still has all the spunk of both her parents (and her adoptive ones), plus the compassion, drive, and sometimes reckless abandon they also both possessed.
Dude, this is the most analytical take on Luke and Leia I have ever read. I've loved these characters my entire life, but damn do I love different, intelligent opinions on these fictional characters
Seeing Luke's journey from whiny teenager to a capable, mature Jedi on the top of his game is quite a trip. Luke is rather special even compared to great heroes from other stories because MOST heroes win by defeating the villain, but Luke wins by redeeming the villain which doesn't happen very often. The fact that Luke never gave up on his father really shows that above all else, Star Wars is a family drama. Great reaction to a great movie! Cheers
Thing that will forever irk me is Luke as mature Jedi not using the Force on the switch of the gate that crushed the Rancor (or on the Rancor itself) and in stead with the stupid rock. A web comic corrected that. I guess his adrenaline clouded his calm mind lol

@@embran8486 the web comic is wrong though, the film is correct in how it portrayed the sequence.
Just so you know, Lando did NOT betray Han. The bounty hunter Boba Fett tracked him after they drifted away with the garbage. He saw where Han was going and reported it to the Empire. That's why he said that they arrived just before Han did. That's why security initially shot at the Millennium Falcon to warn him off. Han didn't catch on and the Empire forced Lando to let him land.
People don't realize that Han, Leia, and Chewie were not the only people on the Cloud City. They were literally MILLIONS (if not tens of millions) of people, and Lando was responsible for their safety. If you are running the city, and the Empire that you are so desperate to keep away from the influence of tells you that you must betray three people in order to keep the Empire from moving in and taking over, you'd sacrifice those three people in a heartbeat, no matter who they were. The tragedy though,... Vader had no intention of keeping his word, and the Empire had no intention of leaving. Lando surely realized that the last time Vader "altered the deal", and that is when Lando finally turned against them. Immediately afterward, pleading for all his people to leave before more Imperial forces arrived. The city was probably all but completely deserted by the time Luke and Vader had their final dual in the central shaft.
That explanation doesn't check out, because for the bounty hunter to have seen where they were going, they would have to have already arrived. And even if he radioed his guess _before_ they arrived, there would be no possibility of Vader and his group of vessels overtaking them before they arrived. All of this assumes the bounty hunter even had the ability to track them once they went superluminal ("to light speed"), which previous canon had established was impossible. Personally, i think Lando simply lied when he said Vader arrived just before Leia and Han. And i think he lied in the hope that he could preserve enough trust to patch things up later. If he had told the truth, "Han, we just received a visit from the Imperial flagship in the last few hours, and they ordered me not to inform you, an order which i followed because if they caught me disobeying it, i would be executed. And better you and your lady, than me." Clearly, they'd never trust him again if he told them that. In fairness, though, he did come through in the end, but he was just cleaning up a mess he himself had made by siding with the Empire against his one-time bff _and_ the woman he loved.
@@no_rubbernecking How is there no possibility for Vader's ships to overtake them before they arrived? Vader's ships had Hyperdrive at the time. The Falcon did not. Han and company had to make it to Bespin WITHOUT their Hyperdrive, so either sublight or very VERY low lightspeed. AMPLE time for Vader to arrive, negotiate, and set up shop before Han got there. The problem is, Star Wars does a terrible job at showing the passage of time. The Falcon would have taken no less than several days, if not weeks to get there. I don't think they'd go for months or longer, but it was definitely FAR longer than hours.
Definitely one of my favorite theater experiences, seeing this in 83 and the whole place erupting in a loud cheer when Vader tosses the Emperor over the rail. Glad you guys enjoyed it!
@@ericseitzler81People weren’t even cheering when I first saw it in 1983. My parents kept going to see it without me. By the time my grandparents took pity on me it had been out for six weeks and the crowd pop was almost nonexistent.
Okay so there were a lot of alterations done in the special edition of this film some I can overlook like blinking ewoks and I do like how you see other planets celebrate the Empire's demise. There are two alterations I cannot forgive: 1. Is Vader yelling No as Luke is being electricuted. That should have stayed silent as you cannot even see Vader's face, but can see the back and forth with him hoping he will do the right thing by changjng that they ruined one of thw biggest rules of cinema Silence is Golden, 2. Anakin's ghost in the original you see an older man and it takes you a moment to realize that it is Anakin, but here they changed it to match the prequels actor of Hayden Christiansen which doesn't work as Lucas's reasoning is that was the last time Anakin was good, NOO the last time Anakin was good was when he threw the Emperor over to his death.
Return of the Jedi is my favorite Star Wars movie and I agree with you about the NO part. That was stupid. We didn't need that because we could already see the conflict in Vader. The part where we see Hayden, doesn't bother. Actually I prefer this ending than the Yub Nub song in the original version. And no, Anakin was good in the end but he was not in Anakin form, he was Vader figure. The last time we saw the real Anakin was like that, when he was young, so yeah it makes sense he appeared like that because that's when the last time he was a Jedi.
“Didn’t he kiss Leia?” I had the exact same reaction 40 years ago in the movie theater.😂. All three are great movies, but I’m with Asia, this one is my favorite. Good react video, thanks!
I’m going to break y’all right now. When I was 13 (8/28/00) I was in a car accident shortly after school. I was walking home after school along a highway and I was hit by a car. Broken right leg, head windshield, 40 ft in air came down on my head. I was dead D.E.D. I was revived because a fire station was feet from the scene of the accident. Airlifted to UC hospital in Cincinnati. Spent months in a coma. I had to relearn 13 years after awaking, walking, talking, and everything. The original “Star Wars” trilogy was something my dad and I would watch all of the time in the hospital and my memory was essentially wiped. I believe they helped my mind heal. I am glad y’all are getting to enjoy the movies. They sure helped me.
I've actually heard the theory that Vader didn't let Luke kill the empower because he knew if he did Luke would be lost to the dark side. I hope you guys do the prequels and hear the story of anakin and how he became Darth Vader. Love you guys and watching movies with ya'll.
Nah. I think Vader wanted to turn Luke to the dark side, to rule the galaxy as father and son, and he needed the emperors help to do that. Luke was to strong for Vader to do it.
Imagine how it looked to the imperial forces on the death star. A lone rebel is taken in handcuffs by the second most powerful (scary) person you know, to see the MOST powerful person. Everyone else is dismissed from the room. You might hear of a battle in the room, to which the Emperor is missing probably dead and Vader is dyeing. Only the lone rebel emerges unharmed. Think of the legend that would spring up around that person.
Reelin' with Asia and BJ y'all are the best people to watch these movies with again. Your reactions are so pure. Loved every second of watching the trilogy with you!
A bit of background sadness, but one of the old Expanded Universe stories explained why the Rancor's trainer was crying - Rancors, in-universe, are actually pretty docile creatures that look fearsome (similar to elephants to the Romans), so Jabba just made sure to starve the hell out of it before sending victims down to feed it. The trainer had actually made arrangements to escape *with* the Rancor the next morning while Jabba was at the Sarlacc pit with Han, but then he had to watch as his beloved pet was killed.

No , it just needed THE PHANTOM EDIT . Marcia Lucas , George's ex-wife was a great editor . She did a great edit on the first film , and there's a video of why somewhere on RUclips .
Phantom menace is amazing and there are so many reasons that I don’t want to state to spoil the movie but after they drop the reaction I’ll put it there. I can write a damn essay on why this movie is amazing. I saw it at 20 years old having grown up with the OT
No no no no NO! Stop right here. Stop at the original trilogy. Every other Star Wars movie after this is complete garbage. The prequel trilogy is unwatchably boring and destroys all the lore. The sequel trilogy is just a mess. You'd be better off stopping right here.
Yesssssssss! Finally! Now remember this is the end of the story, but you basically started in the middle with episode 4 A New Hope so to fully understand all the backstories you'll need to watch A Phantom Menace episode 1, Attack Of the Clones episode 2, and Revenge Of The Sith episode 3!

Just want to brag and say that there were those of us who guessed Luke and Leia were brother and sister, back when Luke was hanging off the sky city and she heard his call. We had to wait about three years to get the chance to be smug. Great watch.
My mom always talked about how after seeing ESB in theaters, while all her friends were asking if Vader was telling the truth or not about being Luke's dad, she kept talking about the "there is another" line speculating who Yoda meant.
The Star Wars universe. I joined it in 1977. Welcome on board both of you. Watching your eyes makes me remember what I felt 45 years ago when I was 19 years old. Thankyou both.
The theatrical cut showed the old man who played Darth Vader unmasked as the Anakin ghost in that final scene. That made a lot more sense honestly since Luke was introduced to him as that Anakin and he was that Anakin before dying. But Lucas changed it to the young Anakin because this newer edit was released during the prequel trilogy which had Hayden Christensen as the young Anakin. Glad that didn't confuse you.
They said the reason they change it is because it shows when Anakin became Darth Vader. That's why they went for a younger version. I hate this reason, Anakin grew older as Darth Vader. George, don't change the past.
@@darrellhall6622 It makes sense, though. Like Obi Wan said, Darth Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin. Therefore it wasn't Anakin who grew old as Vader, so the Force restored his body to his younger self.
Movie trivia: In this trilogy, Wedge Antilles - a rebel pilot who appears in all 3, and flies into the second Death Star ahead of the Millennium Falcon - is played by Denis Lawson, like any good uncle he took his 2 nephews to see the cool new movie he was in. Must have had an effect, one of them became an RAF fighter pilot and the other became an actor, who went on to play the young Obi Wan Kenobi in the 3 prequals.
BJ says "They were on the planet around 32,000 BC". Asia just turns her head and looks at BJ thinking "What the f__k!" Brilliant stuff guys. Just love your reactions. And you both have very distinctive laughs x

The two of you are so insightful and also have a great sense of humor.. I appreciate all the work you put into your videos and I look forward to seeing what's next. :)
Now you need to do the prequel trilogy. It’s great world building and storytelling. They are very different from these movies, and very divisive among the Star Wars fan base, but I love the majority of it, and I think the both of you will love them as well. I can’t wait to watch them with you two.
I just love watching you two react to movies. Asia just keeps me in stitches, with her different expressions. Hiding behind blankets, putting her hands in front of her face. That poor girl, I hope she's on good blood pressure meds. 😅
The ghost at the end is Hayden Christiansen, the actor who played Anakin Skywalker in the 3 Prequel movies that tell the story of how Anakin became a Jedi and fell to the dark side. In the original theater release of this movie, the ghost was played by the same guy who was in the Vader suit when he died on the second Death Star. The remastered edition of the movie added a bunch of stuff like the singing sequence in Jabba's palace, and also updated other scenes like substituting in a different Anakin ghost.
@@darrellhall6622 Nope. Sebastian Shaw played Anakin Skywalker both in the Vader suit as he was dying and as Anakin's original force ghost. Indeed, why would they get someone else? They just put him in heavy makeup for when he's in the suit, and then normally when he's the force ghost.
Me and my boyfriend are huge Star Wars fans. We went to see this movie with a live orchestra earlier this year and it was amazing! Every time the iconic themes came in, I got tears in my eyes. Was an amazing time, I would recommend seeing a Star Wars movie with a live orchestra if they ever tour in your city!
Happy Birthday Asia!! 🎂🥂 I remember seeing "Return Of The Jedi" in the theater with my mom and my brother in the summer of 1983 when the film was released and loving the Ewoks. I was 8 years old and had a stuffed ewok (like a teddy bear ewok), had an Ewoks lunchbox and had an ewok nightlight. The ewoks were huge that summer. Mark Hamill did an amazing job in this film and gave the best performance. He did an incredible job through-out the three original films and you can see his growth as Luke Skywalker. Even though they were not the main characters, Carrie Fisher (who kicked major butt as Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford who of course played the iconic and ruggedly handsome Hans Solo, were extremely important to the success of the original movies success. They are known as the main three for a reason. At the end of "The Return Of The Jedi" when they were all celebrating that was the last time you would see Hamill, Ford and Fisher be together in the same movie. They were reunited in the 2015 "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" but none of them were in the same scene together.
I'm from the original release generation, but only recently saw Mark Hamill as the real key to the success of these movies. His believable portrayal of Luke in all 3 movies transports you into this universe every time. You are not watching an actor playing Luke, you are watching Luke himself.
The idea behind the Ewoks is that George Lucas wanted an army of Wookiee’s. But there was no budget for all those costumes. So hundreds of Ewoks could be made for the price of a few dozen Wookiee costumes.
"It's vitally important the children of Anakin Skywalker are hidden and never discovered by the Empire" "Do you think we should change Luke's name? Skywalker is kind of a giveaway" "Nah I'm sure it'll be fine"
Yay!👏The first trilogy is complete! My only main complaint in this newer edition is the switch out of the ghost of Anakin in the end. I prefer it when it was the older man Vader, the one that Luke saves in the end not the younger version of Anakin. But I can get over all that because these are still some of the best movies. Much love from Oregon 💚 and Happy Birthday Asia!🎂🎉🎈
100% has always been my complaint. Assuming people will watch in release order, many will be like "who the F is that guy??" Even Luke would be confused! 😂 Stay consistent with old Yoda, old Obi-Wan and old Anakin. But alas, here we are...
I almost never comment on videos, by the time I see them they always have thousands of comments, and one more won’t make a difference or likely never be seen. I hope Asia and BJ see this some day. I’ve watched the Star Wars series dozens of times. Watching you guys watching this series reminds me how magical it was the first time I saw it. I was having a shitty day and you guys turned it around, I really appreciate it ❤️
This trilogy will always have a special place in my heart. To me, it´s one of the greatest stories ever told on the big screen. I´m so glad to have seen you two watch and enjoy it! Love from Sweden!
I'm really glad you guys focused more on Luke's part of the movie when editing this one. The whole movie is great, but Luke coming into his own as a jedi, culminating in saving his father, is the heart and soul of this movie for me.
I've been watching this movie since I saw it in theater at 5 years old in 1983. Ive seen it at least 200 hundred times. Y'alls reaction was wonderful. Made me feel like a kid in that theater again.
Anakin Skywalker: [weakly] Now, go my son. Leave me. Luke Skywalker: No, you're coming with me. I won't leave you here. I've got to save you! Anakin Skywalker: [smiles] You already have, Luke. So powerful.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan I’ve had a lot of fun watching you guys experience the original trilogy for the first time. I really look forward to you guys watching the prequel series in the sequel series and all the other movies. Trust me it gets easier with the names of the characters and the planets and all that as you go on. None of us got everything straight the first time we saw it. Star Wars fans have seen these movies hundreds of times. I love the channel and also I can’t wait for you guys to watch Ghostbusters part two and Ghostbusters Afterlife as well.
That young Ewok that befriended the princess was a young Warwick Davis (Willow), who was also the Leprechaun, cameoed in many star wars movies after, and also Harry Potter movies.
I was six years old when this came out. My brother and sister and I had a ton of Star Wars figures, including the Rancor Monster (the big nasty thing under Jabba’s floor) which was THE COOLEST TOY EVER. It had movable arms and legs and jaw and it was big enough to eat a Barbie doll. Eventually it lost an arm but it was still the boss monster in our play room.
My childhood as well. Imagine an 11 year old stepping into a theater and seeing something like this for the first time ever where anything close to this didn't exist before. First SW that is.
Same! I went to Mexico to visit my uncle when i was 13 and i went into his room. I was bored and i saw the original trilogy sitting there in vhs. I started watching at 11 am. Next thing i notice, it's almost 8 pm and my mind was blown away. Never will forget!
"I am a Jedi, Like my father before me" is one of the best, most triumphant heroic moment lines ive ever heard in a movie. Even if luke lost, he won. He became what the emperor feared most.
The lightsaber fight in Return of the Jedi is personally one of my favorites. The reason being, the whole time, Vader is protecting Luke without the Emperor knowing that's what he was doing. Why did Vader stop Luke from killing the Emperor? To the Emperor it is Vader's loyalty, but really, Vader doesn't want Luke to become like him truly. "You are unwise to lower your defenses." He was warning Luke he was going to attack. "If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny." Again another warning that he was going to attack Luke again. If Vader truly wanted to kill Luke, he would have done it. Instead, he was protecting him while being in conflict with his own emotions just as Luke said he was. Vader thought he had lost everything, anyone he ever loved and cared about was gone. Then Luke reentered his life and really tilted it on its head.
Anikan skywalker was digitally put in at the end as a (ghost) with obi-wan and yoga after episode 3 was made. He wasn’t there in the original episode 6 movie. That is how he looks in episode 2 and 3.
As being one of those that seen the movies when they first came out, I am amazed at how many times I can watch these movies and still find something I missed. I am a Star Wars fan and always will be. Now the next movie you watch will be chapter one, The Phantom Menace. Love how the epic movies start in the middle, then the begining and then End. lol In the old movies before, the ending showed old Ani (Vader) not the young one present day. I really hate they changed that, but I do have the first one.
Asia is the first reactor i've seen to have the correct reaction when Leia says she's known all along. The same i had the first time i heard that. Just total wth
Most people overthink what she said. "Somehow... I've always known" as in she's know there was some important connection, not that she literally knew he was her brother. Meanwhile, at no point was any kiss they shared romantic in any way. One was just trying to make Han jealous, the other was comforting a friend who had just lost his friggin' hand and almost died. Oh, also, they had no clue they were gonna be brother and sister when writing the first two films. No, George Lucas did not have this big master plan from the get-go LOL
The reason Leia "knew" Luke was her brother without really knowing is because of her latent Force intution. The Force can heighten a person's perceptions and make them sort of aware of things a normal person couldn't perceive.
@@QuayNemSorr Han wasn't even there the last time! And even if that _were_ her only reason, the fact is her reply to Luke telling her the big news (which was _not_ that they had a connection, that was already obvious to both of them at that point) was that somehow, she had always known that this news was true. Even if she didn't want Luke "that way" on the four occasions she kissed him, her statement was to imply that this is what she believes one does / can do with a man who one knows is one's biological brother. I actually am very shocked that this would be controversial. Everyone who knows the story knows that what you're saying is not at all how Lucas planned it. When he decided to make them twins, it was despite the controversy he knew it would cause, a controversy which he initially did not seek to create but just didn't really care enough to find another way of accomplishing the dynamic he wanted to accomplish.
Luke's compassion for his father is what killed the Emperor in the end. You're right that Luke wouldn't be able to destroy the Emperor on his own. But in redeeming his father Luke had unearthed what was left of the light side of the force in his father. That is something the Emperor didn't forsee and what did him in finally. My favorite little bit that almost no one reacts to is that just as Luke is about to deliver the killing blow he sees Vader's mechanical hand then looks at his own mechanical hand. He realizes that although his hate was what enabled him to defeat Vader he had to let it go or it would consume him. I thought it was a subtle but powerful moment. It's a great story about the power of love and redemption.
Wow I had totally forgot u guys didn’t finish the original Trilogy we all got caught up in spooky scary month and forgot about Return of the Jedi . But awesome reaction you 2 . Now u guy got start with Episode 1 when everything begins. Anyway yall keep up the great work and can’t wait to see what is next 😊❤😊❤😊
I find it funny that in episodes 4,5,6, they had to make a young man look old, the emperor. And for the pre-quels 1,2,3, the had to make an old man look young ,the emperor. Same actor.
I wish you could have watched the non special edition release. The Jabba Palace dance scene took itself more seriously and there wasn’t cgi characters. The Ewok song at the end was different. Chewbacca didn’t yell like Tarzan. An Ewok didn’t yell “yahoo!”. If I remember correctly, Vader didn’t say “Noooo!,” before he grabbed the Emperor. He was silent. Enjoying your dialogue.
it was awesome seeing your reactions to the original Star Wars trilogy. this was my childhood right here. also if they ever put out the originals before they remastered it, I will be first in line for that. there are some differences from the remastered versus the originals. also you gained my sub. i love both your reactions to this.
18 or so years after they made Return of the Jedi, the made the Special Edition and filmed new elements for it. The only original cast actor to be filmed in the Special Edition content was the green dancer in Jabba's palace. She's a professional dancer and she's black when she isn't green. She was in such good shape she looked exactly the same 18 years later. You can also see her boobicle when she is dropped into the Sarlac pit (not that I would ever look at such a thing frame by frame).
Yay, congrats guys. I love watching your reactions... Watching this trilogy with brought me back to how I felt when I watched them in the 80s on TV... now onto the prequels!!!
You guys should absolutely watch the documentary about the making of the first three films. It’s called Empire Of Dreams, and it’s an in-depth look at how these movies were made, and the underlying themes. You nailed the main theme; it’s the classic coming-of-age tale. It’s the setting that makes it different from anything else that was being made by filmmakers around this time.
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 literally, Lucas states IN the documentary, that it’s the …”classic coming-of-age…” story….though he may also mention the hero’s journey. The framework was largely based on the writings of Joseph Campbell.
@@MattKrogmeier You are right, mistaken, and also backward. You are correct in regards to your statement being based on Joseph Campbell, but mistaken because that is an argument against yourself, since Joseph Campbell originated THE HERO'S JOURNEY (based on Carl Jung and Adolph Bastian's work). You are backward in the sense that he also mentioned "coming-of-age", not the other way around. Keep watching the docs Dude, also read up on the Hero's Journey. You will see that Star Wars fits the Hero's Journey exactly. That comment about c-o-a in the documentary was an after comment. He also said that Star Wars was loosely based on Serials such as Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers (vibe and opening scrawl), as well as Kurosawa films. Meaning these were flavorings and influences. The "coming-of-age" was another flavor, but a very small one. He may have started out writing a heavier coming-of-age story (similar to his "American Graffiti"), but when he rediscovered Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" (Hero's Journey) and to some degree Jung, he basically scrapped it, started over, and wrote the new script with the Hero's Journey as the framework (as you said). It may have a coming-of-age within it, but Star Wars is and always will be a Hero's Journey set in a Space Opera. In fact, George was the pioneer of this in movie making.
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 I stand corrected. I have watched the documentary literally hundreds of times, but it’s been a while. Have you seen any of the Icons Unearthed about Star Wars on Vice? Also fascinating, if you’ve not.

45:38 It's what Yoda said in Episode V, "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will." Yoda, the grand Jedi master didn't believe Darth Vader could be turned, either, "And that is why you fail." In fact, having lived his life studying the Force and the history of Jedi and still carrying that notion means that NO Jedi in living memory or archived history has successfully turned back a Jedi who has turned to the darkness. Luke was the first one. Some of the stories that are extra to the movies (books, comics, games) go into the ancient history of the Galaxy Far, Far Away and of course we see those redemption stories there, but that's not necessarily canon and much of it is thousands of years in the past from Yoda's perspective.
You know the thing about this was, back in the day, we had to wait 5 years for the finishing episode to come out. These days you can binge watch it.... which is good.

Leia (as we now know via the Kenobi series) was raised similarly to her mother and still has all the spunk of both her parents (and her adoptive ones), plus the compassion, drive, and sometimes reckless abandon they also both possessed.
Tbf, Padme was exactly a natural leader that was extremely passionate about and dedicated to her convictions and cause.
@Unknown hard to argue with that, for sure.
Dude, this is the most analytical take on Luke and Leia I have ever read. I've loved these characters my entire life, but damn do I love different, intelligent opinions on these fictional characters
Star wars= a strange bearded man delivers an orphan to his uncle, Harry potter= a strange bearded man delivers an orpham to his uncle
Cheers
That was Anakin as a young Jedi in training before he turned into Darth Vader
Hey, Thanks Colonel B! Great comment again! Much ❤️❤️
Asia's shirt was quite fitting for this particular sentiment. F.O.E. Family Over Everything.

As well as gizmo bears.
@@k1productions87 5.4 millions is the official population number
@@k1productions87 If that's what you believe, then you know absolutely nothing about the geographic scale involved.

Okay so there were a lot of alterations done in the special edition of this film some I can overlook like blinking ewoks and I do like how you see other planets celebrate the Empire's demise. There are two alterations I cannot forgive:
1. Is Vader yelling No as Luke is being electricuted. That should have stayed silent as you cannot even see Vader's face, but can see the back and forth with him hoping he will do the right thing by changjng that they ruined one of thw biggest rules of cinema Silence is Golden,
The Nooooo is so cringe ugh. The worst alteration in movie history. The music does the talking in that emotional scene.

Lucasfilm confirmed that Vader new that's what Palpatine was trying to do

I love how how noticed the look Vader gave Luke, when he talked back to the Emporer. Like "did you just say that, too HIM?"

I never liked that jumped-up slug.

So this is not the remastered version? I only saw the original versions, never saw the remastered versions.

You are right to a certain point. The guy that played Vader was not the man we see as a ghost. It was a different man when Luke unmask him.

Luckily we got that years later in revenge of the sith Tarzan yells and all
"It's vitally important the children of Anakin Skywalker are hidden and never discovered by the Empire"
"Do you think we should change Luke's name? Skywalker is kind of a giveaway"
"Nah I'm sure it'll be fine"

Happy birthday Asia! Love this film!

Asia really confident: "Episode four!"
@@k1productions87 Just no on so many levels it ain't even worth it
Leia and Luke always felt there was a connection between them. They didn't know they were siblings. When she kissed him it was only to piss off Han.

My new band name is Tatoewhinny and it's lead singer Anaki Skytower...
Luv y'all... Keep going with the rest of Star Wars... can't wait
Actually, it isn't a "coming-of-age" tale, it is a classic Hero's Journey.
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 also, high-five for your username. Big fan of Logan’s Run!
B.J's description of Jabba was hilarious! : D
I been waiting for this. The Empire Strikes Back reaction remains my favorite but I love how much you guys get Into these movies. Star Wars has always been my favorite franchise. I can't wait til you watch the next trilogy. Although, I suggest you watch Rogue One before starting the prequel trilogy. Thank you for another amazing reaction.
"Anake Skytower?"
Lmao, love your reactions and enjoyed the hell out of this. And this may be my all time favorite name mixup.
Love you guys reaction’s. Y’all gotta do the prequel trilogy soon! Episode 3 is personally my favorite Star Wars movie!
ANAKI SKYTOWER! Yessss!!! Loved this series of reactions ❤️ now onto the other trilogies!
Watching their initial confusion when Hayden Christiansen appeared at the end was great. Their faces clearly said "Who the hell is THIS guy?"
45:38 It's what Yoda said in Episode V, "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will." Yoda, the grand Jedi master didn't believe Darth Vader could be turned, either, "And that is why you fail."
In fact, having lived his life studying the Force and the history of Jedi and still carrying that notion means that NO Jedi in living memory or archived history has successfully turned back a Jedi who has turned to the darkness. Luke was the first one. Some of the stories that are extra to the movies (books, comics, games) go into the ancient history of the Galaxy Far, Far Away and of course we see those redemption stories there, but that's not necessarily canon and much of it is thousands of years in the past from Yoda's perspective.
Damn. That was fun watching with both of you. You had me cracking the hell up throughout the whole movie. The Force Is With You.
Yeah you guys for sure have to watch the prequals (EP1-3) and learn more about Anaky Skytower
Love it! you had all the feelings I had when this came out!
You know the thing about this was, back in the day, we had to wait 5 years for the finishing episode to come out. These days you can binge watch it.... which is good.
I truly enjoyed your reactions to these 3 movies. You guys had me cracking up at various points, truly terrific. I hope you do the prequel trilogy movies sometime soon.
29:06 -- BJ -- Bless you son... It's never too late to change.. It's never too late for love and peace.. It's never too late to let go of hate and fear...
