I ended up ordering the titanium and it works amazing. I blow dry first and use heat protectant. My hair still puffs out but not as bad

Arian Moore it will not cause damage is you put a heat protectant on your hair. Go to your local beauty supply store and get a heat protectant. Never put heat in your hair if you are not going to put heat protectant in your hair.
Don’t use super high temperatures and you should be okay. Start low and then go higher if you need to. My stylist never went over 390(?) when she flat ironed my hair. It came out nice. I don’t have heat damage.

Asma M the ones on Sally Beauty Supply are not knock offs.
The real ones are marketed as Prima 3000, the knock offs are Optima.

I've seen ppl use a brush instead of a comb.. Maybe that is easier. If you absolutely cannot chase whatsoever, then make sure your hair is thoroughly detangled, and use small sections.
