- Hi Loves! Welcome back to my channel... I hope this video finds you all safe and healthy! We're in week 3 of Quarantine/ Social Distancing due to the Coronavirus pandemic that's going on.
I know we're all at home and trying to figure out how to do our "maintenance" on our own since salons are closed. I normally do my own hair anyway but wanted to try out a new flat iron and give myself a silk press at home.
I splurged and purchased the BabylissPRO Nano Titanium Flat Iron. I've seen and heard about how great they are so figured I would give it a try!

You chased the flat iron with the brush instead of chasing the brush with the flat iron but it looks like it still got the job done. Nice.
Why do you need to Chase
@@pumakel1 you don’t need to but it detangles and separates the hair so the heat gets every strand instead is you straighten your hair in a clump. Could help you do less passes of heat on your hair.

Our ancestors had long hair so. I don't think she proved anything besides if you take care your hair you should be able to retain length. Black woman always want change their hair style every other day. Can't say I'm hating because my hair is to my waist 😂. Once you find out what works for your hair it will flourish.

Lost my luggage in nyc and my amazing $200 flat iron with it so I’ve been in the market for a new one. Groupon’s having a sale right now so I think I’m gonna grab this! (Also I’d love a hair care routine 😩 I’m natural and my hair is long too but you have a good 2-3 inches on me and your hair seems sooo healthy despite all the heat. Share your secrets please!!)
ps- I used to use that tresemmee heat protectant for years but the L’Oréal sleek it 3 day spray is even better (and even better than THAT is the chi silk infusion 😊)

@@sophialaaribi5259 Yes, but I've learned its not so much the flat iron you use but your technique. Use a good heat protectant that also controls frizz. I use the Chi Keratin spray after washing my hair and the chi straight guard. I blow dry my hair really straight which is the key to ensure you get your hair straight without too many passes with the flatiron and then I use a brush to do the chase method in small sections and flat iron my hair taking my time. Afterwards I add a dime size of silk infusion I wrap my hair add the saran wrap and sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes or so. I get the best results with that technique. The Kipozi flat iron is a pretty good brand in my opinion equal to the Babyliss.

Gorgeous hair! Son shiny! Ive had the regular babyliss pro nano(not the ultra thin) for 5 years now, it still works perfectly like day 1! But it is pretty heavy and my hand gets sore afterwards, debating if i should get this ultra thin one!

Thank you! I used a normal Revlon blow dryer.. Nothing special really... I do have a video reviewing a new blowdryer brush by Revlon that I have since started to use, it's amazing for natural hair!

What heat protectant do you use
So I noticed you used heat protectant before you flat ironed. Do you use heat protectant before you blow dry as well? For a total of using heat protectant twice?
Yup! I use heat protectant before I blow dry as well as before I flat iron!

How so you maintain your hair..and prevent from reverting and stop it from being dry?
I’m able to maintain it by wrapping it every night and sleeping with a silk scarf.

Ok pleas Help me, anyone.. I'm an old head and I've been trying to silk press and get my hair straight No success I did better than a few years ago even tried newer products. I was interested in this flat iron but I hear people saying it damages the hair. I understand if it’s too hot it can damage, but is a 400 on a titanium flat iron hotter than a 400 on a ceramic? I’m looking to silk press my hair maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I have similar hair to yours with texture and length. What temperature does 42 translate to?
I haven’t noticed any heat damage to my hair since using it, but I do know everyone’s hair is different and the amount of heat they’re hair can take varies. The manual has a temperature range that says settings 41-50 equates to 401-450 degrees.
Is it long lasting?
for some reason alot of hair straightners make my hair smell burnt, does this do the same?
I didn’t experience that with this straightener. It may be from the temperature being too high mixed with the heat protectant being used.
Temp too high. Lower it, trust me.
I used to get the burnt hair smell before. Don't get it since I started using a silicone serum before straightening my hair.
I get it too when the temp is too high but lower Temps don't work as well.😩
When you flat iron your hair what products you use
During the actual flat ironing just the Tresseme heat protectant I mentioned. For the entire washing process I have a video linked that shows all shampoos, conditioners, etc.
Which flat iron do you prefer! The Babyliss or the EAPHEAT flat iron? Which one allows you to get closest to your roots without burning you?

In the cooler months about every 3 weeks, spring/summer I wear it natural more maybe every other month I’ll straighten it.
If u have heat damage after you straighten your hair, does the heat protectant really work? Or is that a product u used after u found out u had damage?

What temperature u used
The temperature was about 400. The iron doesn’t have an exact temperature setting, it uses a number range.

This flat iron doesn’t have degrees settings, it’s a number range unfortunately. Numbers 41-50 is equivalent to 400-450. I used number 42 which was prbly about 410 degrees

Thanks for this review. I almost bought a $100 flat iron from this too good to be true company called “L’ange”. It was very pretty and had digital settings but I think I’ll stick with babyliss . It’s a trusted brand. They do have a 2inch in this one tho
