I’m not sure who to listen to but the Porsche dealership I went to said that there is a very minuscule difference in speed and performance between the two 😬 so I think it’s a smart way for Porsche to do that sort of marketing strategy.
I think making the infamous widow-maker non vaible is a bad move by porsche's marketing department. The original car was a "911 Turbo" so why make an inferior car that is simply irrelevant because even if you spec it as high as the S model it gets only more expensive than the S and the power disadvantage remains. The S model we got right now should have been the one and only 911 Turbo
Dear malicalik 13, by adding the 911 Turbo S to the model range we offer a wider price spectrum between the two different models and therefor can accommodate more Porsche Turbo and Turbo S buyers with the 911 of their dreams.
I just took delivery of a '17 911 Turbo last week and spent quite of bit of time - like a year - debating whether it was worth it to upgrade to the Turbo S for another $29k (sorry, I'm an accountant). I drove both models several times and, with all due respect to the presenter here who said otherwise, I sincerely couldn't feel the difference between the two when behind the wheel on test drives around town (but perhaps I could on a track). So I ordered a Turbo with the Turbo S wheels, carbon fiber and sport design mirrors (all standard on the Turbo S), which are the cosmetic options I preferred (plus I got 18 way seats). So effectively, I just don't have the PDCC, an extra 40hp and carbon ceramics, which were all performance options that I didn't need...and I saved about $23k. Said another way, unless you are going to track your 911 or your ego requires the S badge, paying the extra $$ for the Turbo S over the Turbo just isn't worth it IMO. For that matter, if you are going to track it, you're better off with the GT3 or GT3RS anyway.
Love the Miami Blue. What I want to know is the difference between the 2017 plain 911- which is turbo, and the 911 Turbo. Is one turbo engine more powerful than the other, or are there other differences?
Dear Locutus D'Borg, thank you for your question. Some main differences between the two cars is the size of the engine. The 911 Turbo has a bigger engine at 3.8 liter vs. 3.0 liter. Also the turbochargers on the 911 Turbo are larger. The 911 Turbo uses the wide-body of the 911 with the air intakes on the side. The 911 Carrera and Carrera S are mostly 2wd, while the 911 Turbo is 4wd. On the outside the 911 Turbo uses an active front lip spoiler and large size wing on the back.
Porsche West Broward question... Is it possible to purchase the aerokit and the side intakes in carbon fiber? It would look so much better than that gloss black plastic....
Dear Gtrplr42, both Turbo as Turbo S have been PDK for many years. PDK is so advanced, so quick and so adaptable that it brings a whole different performance level to this car.
***** Thanks for the reply! I realize that the PDK is much better than a manual with regards to performance numbers and track applications. However, I would much rather a manual transmission for the driving experience. I don't believe I am alone in this either, as the 911R sold ever one as soon as they were made. Just seems like all companies now are ignoring a large portion of the market who are never going to be using these cars on a track and might prefer the pure driving experience of a manual. JMHO
Hi There. I got an allocation to order a 991.2 GT3. I am really struggling with colours. What do you think looks nicer on the GT3? Gaurds red or Miami blue? You see cars with different colours every day ? what do you recommend for a GT3? I currently have a white Carrera S and jet black Cayanne GTS I am selling the Carrera S when i get the GT3 And seats ? Full bucket or 18 way seats? I watched all your videos and would really appreciate your opinion
Dear cavalli156, congratulations on your allocation! Personally I would prefer a Guards Red. Are you ordering the PCCB? The seats is a very hard question. Make sure you visit your Porsche dealership and test both out. I like the Full Bucket Seats a lot and they look so racy in the GT3. It also depends if you are going to track the car once in a while. The 18 way is more comfortable and more of a daily driver type of seat for longer distance. I have a video on my channel of a Guards Red 991.1 GT3, check it out!
if I have enough money to afford a beauty i would be more than happy to own the 2014 porsche carrera turbo the 991.2 looks too much complicated to me but in the end of the day it shares the same design with the old version with some additional facelifts
Lai Henry , the 991.1 Porsche 911 GT3 was made for model year 2014, 2015 and a very few 2016's. Feel free to check out online what the pre-owned retail prices are for these cars at for example PorscheUSA.com
camirocz price is a huge factor. There isnt much of a difference. Besides carbon pieces and 40hp. But dont act as if the $35,000-$45,000 isnt a big difference
camirocz it’s a $40,000 difference, sir. For people upgrading from a Carrera GTS for example, that’s a huge price difference and it’s probably worth it to just get the Turbo (which is like 95% a Turbo S). But if you’re thinking of switching from an R8 V10 Plus to a 911, then sure, it might makes sense to pay extra for the “S” since you can undoubtedly afford it. It really depends on whether or not the carbon fiber/gloss black, carbon ceramic brakes (only effective on track anyway), and 40 supplementary horsepower is worth the money/you can afford it.
Dear Michael Beard, overall it is the brakes, engine power, seats, wheels, inlay in the dashboard. :) sorry for the sound quality. It’s one of my early videos
Hey thank you for the info and videos I learn a lot from them and you so its not a big deal with the sound. I am thinking of getting a used 911 Turbo S someday
what would be to walk into one of those dealers sit down with the sales man and just ask for all the features you want in the car I want ooh lord ooh lord
Yes, it would be a memorable thing to do. A business associate bought a 911 from a dealer in Melbourne, Australia, saw a car that he really loved, bargained with the sales manager for about 1/2 hour. When he was happy with the deal he went to his bank, got a Bank Cheque and drove it home. Lovely car in Guards Red.
I volunteer to do your next round of videos. I will not use a camera with image stabilization that distorts the image when the camera is moved, thus adding a more professional, polished look to the video. My fee for this is your cheapest used 911 in good running and driving shape. I would seriously love a new Turbo S but I can't afford a MODEL of one!
I want to say run 60fps but eh, I like it... but for goodness sake use a Tascam DR40 and mount it to the camera you use so you can be heard without all the noise even when further away. Even a lower level wireless mic would suffice. Come on you guys. You are a Porsche dealer not Kia. Turn your ISO up a bit too. Former camera/audio man from back in the day so couldn't help it. I wanna see some results on the next shoot! ;-) Old boss term lol
I like the 991.2 but if you have the money to buy turbo or turbo S, you should consider Ferrari or Lambo. The Turbo S with options shown in the video is already in base Ferrari range.
That's funny I ran into this comment. Prior i JUST suggested to improve that quality. Such nice cars and nice people with a nice dealership and floors... Then the camera and audio is all messed up. Greenville Texas Kia dealerships do better than this lol.
So basically you can spec a 911 turbo to be more expensive than the S models, and the extra money for the S model gets you a black non shiney dirty exhaust system. Yep got it!
Dear john jackson , it is possible to spec a 911 Turbo with the extra options that come standard on a Turbo S. It doesn't make sense to do so though. The Turbo S will always have the additional power and torque over the 911 Turbo and therefor appeals to a client group looking for the highest power levels of the 911-range
Next time you upload a video consider listening to the audio first.....You may come across some problems which the viewer will dislike....Premium quality cars should at least have a video which backs them up.
the guy is reading off a note. You can tell by how much he explains about the small details that no one really cares about. true car people looks about engine and suspension first rather than high gloss finish.
Dear Rikelmi Cool, there are more differences between the Turbo and the Turbo S than just 40 hp. Turbo S has PCCB, Carbon Fiber inlay, 18-way seats, LED Headlights and Center lock wheels standard while these are factory options for the 911 Turbo.
ok i am intrested for 5 months a yellow ,yellow calipers carbon ceramic with high gloss aerokit with 20 rims do you say thats good for 5 months order for a turbo
thank you so much but one last question i live in newyork so do i have to go pick it up or you guys deliver the car for me to my house and also do you have after market exhaust were you personaly put on my vehicle
I'm in love with that Porsche Turbo S in red it is absolutely beautiful.
Thanks very much for the comparison vid, I personally needed these info
Thanks Alexander - I enjoy these videos.
Great video. Well done 👍
I’m not sure who to listen to but the Porsche dealership I went to said that there is a very minuscule difference in speed and performance between the two 😬 so I think it’s a smart way for Porsche to do that sort of marketing strategy.
That Red Turbo S is so fucking gorgeous, I wanna buy it!
I think making the infamous widow-maker non vaible is a bad move by porsche's marketing department. Also I know it was Turbo Carrera or something like that but you get the point

***** kinda makes sense but I would rather have only one turbo in the lineup thanks for your reply 😊

GSG wow, thanks for the detailed and professional judgement. Have fun with your car, it is quite a beast 😀
nice video👍👍Miami blue looks awesome👍👍👍

Porsche West Broward question... Is it possible to purchase the aerokit and the side intakes in carbon fiber? It would look so much better than that gloss black plastic....
Dear fauxhawkmullet, I have not seen this being offered. There are some aftermarket solutions for the air intakes though
Great walk through - well done
Very nice as usual!
That Miami Blue kills me💔
The Best Salesman in the World.
GT silver ! Thats the color I want for painting the alps ! And the moon !
Can you get the Standard Turbo with a manual transmission? or do both the Turbo and Turbo S only come with the PDK?
Dear Gtrplr42, both Turbo as Turbo S have been PDK for many years. PDK is so advanced, so quick and so adaptable that it brings a whole different performance level to this car.

they should make a paint option
Red and Gold
Black and Gold

I prefer the gt3rs!
Can anyone do 200 mph on Collins Avenue or I-95 near Oakland Park Blvd?
Turbo s should be the only turbo 911 .RIDICULOUS TO STILL MAKE BOTH CARS.
camirocz price is a huge factor. There isnt much of a difference. Besides carbon pieces and 40hp. But dont act as if the $35,000-$45,000 isnt a big difference
No, there’s a HUGE price difference.
@@roccotarli762 I m talking between a turbo and turbo s ,Its not a huge difference and you get ceramic brakes and more power.

At least he was able to get some discount. Where I live, they give zero discount.

So there is almost no difference between the 2 only then some aesthetic thing and less HP. What the reason to buy a Turbo S over a Turbo??
The difference is really just 40hp. Any other difference can be optioned.
good colors,
on the

Porsche 911
Turbo S

well that would make sense if the Ferrari was a better car, which it is not
***** definitely the Porsche of course, because it is faster, and I like the looks, handling etc. more. I'm actually buying one right now
Jay mazz which model
Roger Lee the 2017 turbo S convertible
Jay mazz u r rich for sure.
thank you
TY
Is the suspension on the Turbo S stiffer than the Turbo ?
whats wrong with these cameras?? Nevertheless, amazing video.
That's funny I ran into this comment. Prior i JUST suggested to improve that quality. Such nice cars and nice people with a nice dealership and floors... Then the camera and audio is all messed up. Greenville Texas Kia dealerships do better than this lol.
Miami blues ❤❤❤❤❤❤ my baby car !!❤❤
Alexander , you sound a bit like youre Dutch ?
If you walk into a Porsche dealership with the means to buy a Turbo and then choose NOT to get an "S", you should be on a list somewhere.
nice reviews but you need to wear a mic
Nanook of the North , I do nowadays :) these were the early days
That's good to hear (pun intended:) )
So basically you can spec a 911 turbo to be more expensive than the S models, and the extra money for the S model gets you a black non shiney dirty exhaust system. Yep got it!

Absolutely Amazing!
Love Porsche❤️
Wow!
why is there a 20k difference for only 40hp
Dear Rikelmi Cool, there are more differences between the Turbo and the Turbo S than just 40 hp. Turbo S has PCCB, Carbon Fiber inlay, 18-way seats, LED Headlights and Center lock wheels standard while these are factory options for the 911 Turbo.
how long does it takes to take delivery of a custom made turbo
Rikelmi Cool , if there is a production-slot available around 4 months
ok i am intrested for 5 months a yellow ,yellow calipers carbon ceramic with high gloss aerokit with 20 rims do you say thats good for 5 months order for a turbo
thank you so much but one last question i live in newyork so do i have to go pick it up or you guys deliver the car for me to my house and also do you have after market exhaust were you personaly put on my vehicle
