This is cool because it is tiny - but 1500 $USD for a digital recorder - You all have lost your minds IMO - and 1200$ for a six channel LINE mixer LOL - Go ahead and drag me in the comments
Wow £1300. Every feature he was mentioning I’m just thinking ‘like a phone’ You can record in the field… like a phone. You can attach a microphone… It has 128GB hdd… Looks like a prime waste of money
you can't record line in on an iphone without an interface, which incenses me btw. Iphone should already be like a TP-7, I can only assume apple is gatekeeping the tech to discourage music pirating
they should add effects to this! Like emulations of old tape or something, that would make it even more bad ass. Also would love the ability to record from my computer into Tp-7, the only other workaround would be connecting 3.5mm from my DAW into TX-6 then into TP-7... seems like a few extra unnecessary steps though it could be so much easier at the price point.
I second this question! Why didn't they use an empty channel to record the guitar? Is that not possible? Is it only multi track recording in one go and then you have to stack on tracks once the initial recording stops? That would be dumb.
Manual says you can hold + to add a track or - to remove one. And assign what input youll use for what track. So this seems possible, as its something you can do in edit mode. Not sure what the max track limit is when you're manually adding them?
a wonderous device for elven folk who have tiny elven fingers and hordes of gold but alas for us average humans with normal fingers, who see this design choice as flawed and the TE pricing strategy as an aspirational lifestyle device pretentious
The workflow isn't even enticing ... by the time you have all these boxes that clutter up a large desk you would be soooo much better off just using an iPad or laptop.
As much as I love the appearance and basic functionality of this thing, I think it really deserves more software functionality. It would be incredible with some FX options and a dedicated "DJ" mode for playback.
Prices are nuts but if you have the disposable income there’s no denying TE stuff is fun once you’ve tried it. Some stuff’s just weird af like the chorus speakers though. Could be worse hobbies… espresso easily eclipsing this when you get into higher end stuff for example.
Wow this is pretty awesome. Question. Do you know if you're able to play an audio track (w/ connected headphones) while recording over it with the CM-15?
This is so freaking cool and the design is just beautiful! I know if I had this I wouldnt become an artist or release music. Im not even interested. Still my brain looks for ways to excuse myself for just throwing my money at this.
All hater have no idea about the refinement of these devices . It’s difficult to produce it’s a difficult to make it tiny and simple and elegant and it’s a small batch . Good luck haters to produce such recorder or mixer in this form factor for very cheap and do not bankrupt . All haters have no culture of aesthetic , they don’t even know what is the essence of design like dieter rams defined it .
So true man. People always say “$1200 for mixer” or “$1500 for a recorder” but the fact that they simplify it that way proves that they have absolutely no idea what these things are capable of. Spoiler alert: it’s not JUST a mixer and it’s not JUST a recorder. As a proud owner of both, I will never sell these and I will be using them for the rest of my life.
Why tiny?, are you a travelling musician, do you live out of a suitcase?, are you a dwarf?.... unless your any of those things this thing is ridiculous.
Cost aside, struggled with the form factor in the end...was so easy to accidentally trigger something and I'm extremely dextrous with gear. The tilt from the guys is clear here too...they ain't getting it either ;)
I can appreciate the sentiment but I feel like when you have synths that can cost over $3000 (granted they are usually analog for that price) that don’t even have the full functionality of an OP-1F let alone an actual 4 track recorder in them, I feel like the $2000 is more than fair. People act like these products are the most expensive things they’ve ever seen but in reality it’s more of a projection that they’re sad they can’t afford them and thus have access to them. Fact is, if anyone was GIVEN an OP-1F for free, I would bet that the majority of people would keep it. Again, unless they’re broke and would rather sell it for money, which is like maybe they need to reconsider being a musician because spoiler alert: gear costs money.
Nope, nope, nope, and no freakin way. Thanks for the demonstration all the same. Nothing negative to say about the video, only the products displayed. T.E. clearly gets that if you offer the $1 bath towel for $1000, there will still be somebody who will buy it.
these few small devices could be my dream setup.... this small factor devices is that portable device iam dreaming off since over30 years... but now iam homeless and keep dreaming off cause notpayable for me
I'd feel like this comment would be fair enough on some other TE products (such as the TX-6, also featured in this video)... but not this one. It's a portable recorder, and there is already a pretty big market for those. Something like the Sony PCM-D100 wipes the floor with this and is considerably cheaper. The wheel is the only thing that makes the TP-7 unique really, but it's flimsy and gimmicky
Absurd. Teenage Engineering can just go away as far as I'm concerned. Sticking their brand on devices that have no business being priced so high does not good gear make. But they're so cute huh?!
@cougarman8 nobody forces me to do anything which is exactly why I make do without fluffed up nonsense that can be easily achieved other ways if you have any skill at all. I'm sorry...did I offend your delicate sensibilities and hurt your little feelings that are obviously connected to a brand. Is your identity also attached to a manufacturer? Shut up
@@cougarman8 and, don't get me wrong, I applaud much of what Teenage Engineering does and has done. This, on the other hand, seems like an overpriced Zoom handheld H4N or something. Much love to you and your musical ventures. I might suggest not getting so emotionally wrapped up in brands to the point where you feel so defensive and reactive. These people make tools for artists to utilize. Don't put the cart before the horse. Have a great existence

nothing to drag
The mixer is badass tbf... pricey but it's a great piece of gear and very versatile
@@rorz999 I agree the mixer is good especially if you are an electronic musician and want a compact set up and don't use microphones
ugh that’s brutal. Hopefully they come down and/or much cheaper on used mkt
I don’t have the free money to ever buy it, but their stuff is definitely cool. The spinning tape thing is pretty great, though ridiculous

Yeah I just want a microcassette handy recorder like a dictaphone, but it needs a line in and out.
Not everyone wants to tap keys on a flat piece of glass though

Can I humbly ask how he did the drone ???
All without laughing ????
Awesome, but the cost? It may be small and highly portable but its not life changing and you can achieve all of this for a lot cheaper than TE...
over a grand. loool . such a joke.

this, its the first thing I was looking for.
you can both the mixer and the tp7 are audio interfaces. so no need to daisy chain the audio
the mixer has effects and production tools built in
So what do we reckon is the best alternative using a phone instead of the TP? Surely the same setup exists?
Can you add extra tracks to a previous multitrack session? Say you record 2 tracks, then tomorrow you record 4 more?
I second this question! Why didn't they use an empty channel to record the guitar? Is that not possible? Is it only multi track recording in one go and then you have to stack on tracks once the initial recording stops? That would be dumb.

Teenage engineering is the apple of the music world.
except for their crappy quality
Original criticism.
Yeah, but without all the groundbreaking technological advancements. TE is only pushing the limits of their pricing.

It’s not available, says 8th November for the TP-7 and 20th for cm-15.
why would tou choose that over 1 box that combines that all)
why these powerful things doesn't have reverb effect built in?

I do hope they make a OP-Z with a screen and make it more durable.
Look at their new EP-133. Not an OP-Z, but even more.
Love how this is a key/synth/pro audio channel with a bunch of guitar amps on the set…😂
It’s a music store

The microscopic screens don’t say “precision” to me. Certainly, those tiny screens say form over substance to me.

I find this video wholesome, and I can't wait to get my hands om these things.
This was incredible guys!
Where did he get that Burns?
what would one have to go through to connect an sm7b to this?
Amazing technology. Not for me though. Somebody need to reissue classic analogue reel to reel recorders.
Real deal please
"Yep, TP-7's available.." mate, neither TP-7 nor CM-15 have been available since they added them to their shop.
Looks like a Nagra equipment from swizz….
not as well made.
Someone is laughing in Sweden, maybe an apple fanboy is crazy enough to buy this stuf

The TX + TP + OP1f is an absolute dream set up. Hoping there’s an OP-Z field
Made a $500 product and are trying to sell it for 1500….
8k worth of gear you better make million dollar beats/songs lol
I love TE ideas but man that is a money grab. They could have added that ability to the OP-1 Field for the $2000 they charge.

Overpriced tosh, nothing more!
And this one as well. Like good lord you must be fun at parties 🤦♀️
It ain’t worth no damn 1500 but y’all go ahead & enjoy that though.
Cool designs, trash company.
Ok ,do ,re,mi,fa,sol,la
TE.....endgame capitalism... 🤣
Paid for by GAS money.
Everyone complains about the price but can’t point me towards any reasonable alternatives. I guess we all need an enemy to feel okay about ourselves.
Roland Go Mixer and other similar portable ones? Just use your phone as screen, for a small fraction of the price
iPhones and iPads can do so much more! Get a small interface, AUM, and go crazy!

Koala sampler? 😂 It is 10$ and much more versatile! Plus, it makes use of the phone that you already have with you.
Digitakt + Octatrack + Cycles = Destroys this TE crap.... at half the price. Spend a few more bucks on whatever portable multitrack recorder you want.
