    That is one of the biggest fire houses I’ve seen around the nation. It’s beautiful it’s functional and it offers so many comforts of home for your staff. Do you have it opened up to the public is outstanding and a great way to educate and gain more future firefighters and rescuers and leaders. Congratulations and thank you for the work that you all do for our nation. God bless and stay safe. Steve

    They must have a pretty good economy. They have 11 pieces of equipment and a huge station. Thats the biggest ive ever seen for 5000 people. A fire dept for 5000 is one station around 12000 sq ft.

    • @ffjsb
      @ffjsb 3 года назад +9

      @@HeroesNextDoor If you have a huge coverage area, it's not a very good idea to have all your equipment in one station. That totally screws your ISO rating and increases your average response time. They should have at least one satellite station.

    • @trvman1
      @trvman1 3 года назад +2

      @@ffjsb Agreed. Where I lived that had a big coverage area. They had 3 separate stations. They used to have 2, one north end, one south end. Town grew with new housing and they built a new station and staged the ladder truck in the middle and moved in one pumper from a station that had 3 pumpers. So they had no cost rather then the new building which was nothing fancy. So they had a station north end, south end and one in the middle. So response time would be "level" and it was a volunteer department. From one end of the town line to the next town line it was about 18 miles. Bigger is not always better.

    Is 12 fire engines a lot for an American fire station?
    In Germany there are between 50 and 70 vehicles in large fire stations
