@@Thaglabx13 they got in s semi finals because they got an easier draw compared to last 2 years where they got Bayern and Madrid. And Neymar got them into a final in 2020 single handedly 🤷
I love the channel, but this time I have to disagree. Losing Messi and Neymar hasn't made PSG any better, the fact that they could be a more cohesive team in the future is just a guess, but so far (and yes, I know it's been a very short time for Luis Enrique) nothing indicates that. And it's even worse for Mbappé himself, who, despite being very good, needs creative players to set him off at speed. Mbappé doesn't run a team, Mbappé is the fatal arrow. PSG may be better in the future than they were, but they're still a long way off.
Exactly. Messi was one of the most creative players in Europe last season (and the one before), even before you look at how many big chances were missed as a result of his creativity. Off the ball, PSG should drastically improve with only 1/3 of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in the team but for anyone who suffered through the majority of PSGs games in the previous 2 years will tell you, it was the entirely dysfunctional and non-existent midfield that was their main issue. The game plan was "Messi will eventually drop into the DM position and get us moving up the pitch, we'll be fine."
100% agree with you. The champions league game against Newcastle Absolutely Proves your Points. Psg got destroyed (1-4), and Mbappe got one shot the entire game. Guess what, Newcastle’s 1st goal came from a defensive mistake by Marquinhos, nothing new to see, Lol.
Mbappe has proven multiple times that he is a capable enough creator. He legit had a higher xA in Messi's first season at PSG that Messi. The reason he stopped creating is because Galtier limited his freedom in order to give Neymar and Messi the ability to roam, which was legitimately useless. I don't think they're as good as last season because they still need time to gel, but it's not saying much to begin with.
@@DC10_ It works both ways. Poch decided to use Mbappe's creative output and restricted Messi's movement in not moving deep. Galtier told Mbappe to play on the shoulder of the defender in order to create space between the lines for Messi and Neymar, hence why they had very high xAs. It's a matter of tactics, rather than individuality. Messi also never played as their primary build up player. Verrati and Vitinha were normally instructed to help PSG progress up the field, which is a DMs primary role. What Messi did was receive the ball from the pivots once they progressed up the pitch in a very deep position. Neymar also did this a lot, because both players were given tactical freedom to do so and they both like to drop deep to create. Just look at their heat map and you'll see they still played much higher in creative roles rather than pivots. It's also not easier to get a higher xA getting behind than it is dropping into midfield. Kane is an example as his xA was higher when Mourinho urged him to drop deep more, rather than Conte playing him higher. Mbappe had a higher xA as well when given more tactical freedom.
This aged like milk. In the end, no team is better with significantly less talent and replacing one of if not THE greatest player of all time along with one of the best talents in his generation in Messi and Neymar for Dembele and Kolo Muani. Neymar has a history of injuries and indiscipline with this team so his case deserves a separate analysis, but if P$G was a serious club, they would have built an actual team around Messi as their playmaker like Argentina did despite his age and reap the benefits, but chose to cater to Mbappé's whims instead. Serves them right, they might not eve win their league this year.
I wouldn’t call them better, Neymar was thought of as the next generations best player, and Messi is literally the best player ever. -it’s also just coaches faults that they wanted or solely rely on star power. -which PSG has done for about the last ten years starting with Ibra and the extensive amount of spending.
Ive been saying this. One could only imagine if psg had used all that money to buid a proper team, 1-11. Solid centre back, quick but technical fullbacks, a hardworking midfield and a forward line that actually works for the team and doesn't just wait for the ball to come to them. Also a key difference between potchetinos psg and enriques is just the verticality of the attacking play. Less tricks and flicks and impossible dribbles but more oriented around breaking the lines as quickly as possible. Refreshing to watch honestly.
Going through the comments and I must say that what people don't realise is that PSG are not yet a well oiled team - but they definitely are a 10x better as a team than they were last season. And they lost against Newcastle - who have been a team and built spirit over a long period. Add to the fact that Enrique got his tactics completely wrong. But, as a PSG fan, I'm glad they lost this one and by the margins they did. Better they learn now that Europe is not a joke than then learn later in the round of 16. PARIS ES MAGIQUE 🥳
It is a really weird take to argue PSG 'finally' have someone who can provide pace against the big teams when Mbappé is not there. Mbappé has missed just one CL knock-out game since moving to PSG, replacing his pace was hardly a priority or problem area and is unlikely to make a difference.
Exactly. They mention the Kolo Muani run, when Mbappe made that run against Juventus and was given the ball skillfully by Messi, he didn't square it to Neymar for an almost certain goal.
We are very happy indeed with all the signings and please for those who say we will be knocked out of UCL eventually we gladly take that cus we arent really expecting a breakout season with 11 new siginings in their first season. We are indeed happy that psg is playing like a team and not with a one man team. Just a sidenote luis enrique said today in the press conference about the draw vs clermont and why he didnt start ugarte, he said that "we build a team with 22 - 23 players and not 11 players and those who deserve will make my starting lineup" , and yes our depth is lacking atm especially in the midfield positions as there aren't really class players to cover the midfield( apart from ugarte vitinha and zaire emery phenomenal young baller who starts for the game) with substitues like fabian soler which havent really proved that they can be a good sub with fabian always in and out of form at times of the game and soler isnt really proving anything as far as i seen him play, the defence also is also lacking with the likes of danilo, and nuno mendes ( hope he recovers soon since he is out for the next four months) , but theres a chance that psg signs a backup lb in january adding much needed depth. As a final note neymar and messi was phenomenal to psg, just cause one part of the fan base wrote rude thing against messi and neymar ( ultras ) doesnt represent the whole fanbase in france with psg fans against some of their opinion and one of them was neymars which the ultras wrote "FINALLY rid of the rude" same for messi since we wanted a 1 last dance with neymar to go on to win the champions league.
You successfully mention the massive role of: - Ugarte - Replacements for Mbappe in G. Ramos and Muani - Luis Enrique being clear about project's beginning stages and improvements to make ALL those points are about good recruitment to the club in the summer, and somehow you still have the audacity to say the real reason is the departures of the "2 greatest players to play the game" as you put it. You doing this is a feature of this view-centric landscape, so it's expected, but still shocking: the length one goes to in order to pick out a perspective that demeans big stars because it will sound edgy and get views. Expecting the counter point of "they can't sign all those without letting stars on big wages go," I respond to it saying that Galtier and co. were constantly working on the vision where their team was made to work. In hindsight one can always rationalize to fit their argument, but they were actually trying to find solutions. Recruitment was more of an issue than Messi or Neymar. What if they somehow got a Skriniar-like defender in January itself, knowing they have to play Bayern in Feb and don't have enough CBs in case of an injury. An injury did happen, and a 17 year old center-back had to play, who had costed them points against Monaco as well. Not the 17 year olds fault is it? It's the management and recruitment. No one at TIFO thought to say "ay lads how about we mention and give weight to things Messi and Neymar have said as it's the primary source?" Messi said he wanted project guarantees while deciding on his future, clearly seeing this is not a team. FFP-like things they have worked around for a while, to them it's just about getting creative. Furthermore, Lucas Hernandez now as LB while Mendes is out... Last season they were playing Fabian Ruiz there, and Renato Sanches at times.... But Messi and Neymar left that's the reason they're better tactically ahhh yes. With more CB troubles I saw JUAN BERNAT PLAY Center half. This perspective seems to oversimplify the complexities of team dynamics and the multifaceted reasons behind PSG's performance. While Messi and Neymar's departures might have opened up opportunities for other players to shine, it's reductionist to attribute PSG's success solely to their absence. The team's tactics, new signings, and the contributions of other players all play a crucial role in their performance. You are truly masters of your craft... the craft is solely finding a lens through which one can make this a couple star's problems and then the fans will eat it up.
Even in the good things about PSG rn you fail to mention the best... Dembele. Luis himself says so... I suggest you start practicing giving importance to primary source of information

Watching this after they lost 4-1 to Newcastle 😂😂
@@DC10_Messi liking to move also probably played some part in the midfield looking this bad

Refreshing to watch honestly.
yeah, it was really refreshing to see your mid club got humbled 4-1 last night
on se voit à paris😂@@PassportBro_
Exactly. They mention the Kolo Muani run, when Mbappe made that run against Juventus and was given the ball skillfully by Messi, he didn't square it to Neymar for an almost certain goal.
this aged well lool
Haven't PSG just had there worst start to a season since 2011?
It is expected but as they play together they can get better
Pretty sure that Ramos cost 80 mil and Kolo Muani 100 mil, so saying they don't have stars without Mbappé is a bit of a stretch.
The price has more to do with the lack of number 9s available on the market tbf
This aged well 😮
They will be even better when Nuno Mendez and Kang in Lee come back
PSG saw this video and decided to disagree by losing to Newcastle 😅
As a final note neymar and messi was phenomenal to psg, just cause one part of the fan base wrote rude thing against messi and neymar ( ultras ) doesnt represent the whole fanbase in france with psg fans against some of their opinion and one of them was neymars which the ultras wrote "FINALLY rid of the rude" same for messi since we wanted a 1 last dance with neymar to go on to win the champions league.

next TIFO video why PSG lost to Newcastle please
You successfully mention the massive role of:
- Ugarte
- Replacements for Mbappe in G. Ramos and Muani
- Luis Enrique being clear about project's beginning stages and improvements to make
ALL those points are about good recruitment to the club in the summer, and somehow you still have the audacity to say the real reason is the departures of the "2 greatest players to play the game" as you put it.
Thank God, a PSG video. Been waiting for one since this season started.

Sometimes I really feel we football nerds pay too much attention on tactics, when the domestic success of PSG can easily be attributed to superior team logistics in the form nation state sponsorships. Like Napoleon once said, “the amateurs discuss tactics, the professionals discuss logistics,” and that is a very unfortunate reality of modern football.
You sure about that???
Love this channel, but 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Who would have thought that you couldn't have 3 players on the field that have zero work rate off the ball
This isn't FIFA manager mode , teams and players actually need to fit together . It's not rocket science . You need a team and not individual players . Don't need a detailed breakdown to see that
Madrid wouldn't have won any champions leagues back then if their forward lines were 3 Ronaldos
Imagine saying Neymar has no workrate.

Sorry might have confused you . Meant defensive work rate . When the team is not in possession . Neither mbappe , Messi or Neymar really have a desire to close down intensely or track back to win the ball back .
That's expected , they are all world class attacking talents .
My point being when you have your entire front made up of those players , you dont have anyone doing the dirty work necessary to win something like the champions League

With Messi and Neymar I was worried PSG mid actually win the Champions League.
At least for this season I'm not really worried. They are not playing all that well currently and I think by the time they gel and get together as a team they'll likely be eliminated from the CL already.
Building a team is good for them because it means they will face less trouble should MBappe leave.
