Which is funny considering the board tried to sell De jong last summer (thank god he didn't leave). i'm also glad we secured a generational talent like Pedri he's out of this world, all and all i think the future is bright considering LaLiga is going to approve Barca's viability plan to do transfers.

Christensen's performance was 11/10 considering he arrived for free, spectacular player one of the best CBs in the world right now. Kounde also did a very good season not as brilliant as Christensen and Araujo but also gave a lot security. Nothing needed to say about Balde probably the most important offensive player this season, incredible talent. I just got an idea on how Messi could play if He returns without changing the structure much:
You could have him play the Gavi position as kind of a false winger/8 and put gavi in the midfield alongside Pedri (you have space now that Busquets is going). Could be interesting to create more from the center instead of the wings

u end up with no dm though and frankie only works in a pivot, dropping pedri/gavi back to support means ur losing a lot of attacking outlet

Messi back at Barca is a nice story but on the pitch it'll hurt the progress in some ways. Gavi is the pitbull of Barca press. Xavi gives him almost free reign in creating havoc. Take him out and it effects everyone

why would you upset the balance of the team which is doing well now to bring in Messi? It would change the dynamics and it would be a huge gamble...and for what? So he can play for another year or 2 in the barca shirt? It feels more like a step backwards honestly

I played barca for 2 years in PES. 4 3 3 is almost same as 5 2 3 if you play PES using Barca because the AMF also can go as CF or SS... Last time there were midfielders i used a lot which are Seido Keita as defensive mid, Xavi, and Iniesta as attacking midfielder.. I used a lot 4 3 3 alot but actually only 2 midfielders as attacking midfielders... When reduced the centre forward strikers from 3 to 2... There are more midfielders means more space for the midfielders to switch position from midfielders to strikers anytime we want.

the missing key in barca consistency is the squad depth, they got a strong team on line up, but the gap quality on the bench is too far behind once subtitution is done, the structure starts to collapse.

I think they were successful in the league because in each game there was always at least one player, who performed well. This creates consistency within the league, but was not sufficient enough for the tournaments.

the one thing that is forgotten in this research is how in december 2022 la liga president Tebas changed the rules of fairplay so that a lot of the money coming from the levers, would not be considered as income, therefore forcing Barca to the point where it was back in the summer - all in all Barca is on its way back struggling against a very skewed liga field that only seems to work for mr Florentino!

This has been the theme with Pedri throughout the last 2 years. They are not even 20. Ofc they can't play against Bayern or Inter RN. Maybe in 2 years they will be back

Gavi really isn't as good as everyone makes him to be. He is not bad, but he is mostly a dirty player. He runs a lot, falls a lot, makes a lot of fouls. As long as you have talented passers around him, he can be of use, but the trio Iniesta-Xavi-Busqets had 3 technically gifted players, and no mad dog.

Even with all that Barcelona's elimination was decided by a referee mistake, Dumfries' handball that the referee didn't catch. Really acting here like Barca was a failure this season instead of just having really bad luck. I remind y'all that Real Madrid literally lost 5-1 to the very first large team they faced in UCL this season, while Barcelona faced 3 large teams in Europe this season with tons of injuries and even then it's defeat was decided by a referee mistake.
