just a quick heads-up: for the league placement chart around 1:30, you're showing the Bundesliga going down the 20th position. There's only 18 teams in the league though, so that makes it slightly disleading, especially considering just how close to relegation (16th spot) the 15th place really is

Even now, Chelsea was dominating in their last 5 games chance wise and even more on the Liverpool game. The problem is some players that got most scoring opportunities didn't score. They need to address this more than the tactics for now. They need to addres Harvertz, Felix, Kova, Kante scoring techniques individually for each of them especially Harvertz and Felix they both have big flaw on their scoring technique and mindset on these scoring situations.
Definitely. I was watching the game yesterday and all I could think was "Felix needs coaching". He's an incredible talent. He just needs to play consistently and get proper coaching like Arteta did for all the youngsters at Arsenal or even Pepe with Rico, Foden, Palmer, Alvarez, etc.
@@jules_laurent yeah Felix always in drible stance which is great for opening up play but he needs to practice when to switch to proper stance to shoot. If Chelsea could create as many chances as the last 5 games while fixing this scoring problems. Chelsea would win games with lots of goals.
This season for Bayern in the Bundesliga was crazy, I thought Jon "Underlying Numbers" Mackenzie would have noticed some weird stats. For example, having the biggest goal difference with both the best defense and attack, and at the same time not having the most wins, nor the most clean sheets. Defensively there were many ties that came from last minute fouls, handballs, and so on, I think the weak spot in Nagelsmann's tactics was going for that 3-1-5-1 that often left defenders hugely exposed and playing lots of 1v1 that led to silly mistakes and conceding goals which probably shouldn't have happened. I don't know if it was the right move to sack him but there were dressing room issues and it is said many players didn't really respect him, which is important in big clubs with players and directives with big personalities. I don't think Tuchel is very different tactically but he is certainly more conservative and a bit more defensive.
About the rumour that he's losing the player trust, that has never been the case, many bayern player already gave their answer to that matter and NOONE said that he's losing their trust. Except maybe young player like Gravenberch, but again he's still so young and should earn his place in the lineup.
Interesting, but it sounds like what Jon identified here about Nagelsmann, the ideas of positional play and using possession to draw out opponents to create space, are the same things that he found exciting about De Zerbi's Brighton.
One thing worth mentioning here to provide some context for his dissatisfaction with Bayern's performances and the frequent tactical tweaks, is that he mainly had to do this because the club failed to address a number of vital gaps in the squad. At the bare minimum they needed a replacement for Lewandowski and a pivot player who is good at defending defensive transitions. On top of that, Thiago had never been properly replaced and it seems that Gnabry as well as Sane are now better in slightly more central areas, which means that a further winger with similar qualities to Coman was needed. However, even if they had only brought in a defensive midfielder and a striker to replace Lewandowski, I don't think Bayern would've had as many problems. Ultimately, the Bayern management was lucky to have Nagelsmann who was able to come up with solutions to problems created by gaps in the squad. But those solutions couldn't solve the underlying problems. That isn't to say Nagelsmann isn't without faults or hasn't made some mistakes, who doesn't, but I don't think this level of constant tweaking is something he necessarily thrives to do. As broadly hinted at in the video, it merely means that he is actually capable of coming up with wide variety of tactical solutions and as such, is capable of working with all kinds of different squad and player profiles.
You got his D.O.B. wrong. It's actually the 23rd of July 1987, not the 27th. I know this for a fact because it's exactly the day of my birth as well ;)
His tactics actually remind me a lot of what Ancelotti and Madrid do. They can play multiple systems and ways (onball/offball) and still be successful. I do think Nagelsmann needs another Leipzig type club instead of an elite one for the next couple years though.
Tottenham need a world class manager like this! Someone who has so many different ideas! To change the tactics or personal on the pitch during the games! get this man to a 10 year contract! he can get us back competing again!

2 years at least, 1st season to get used to the squad and 2nd to really get into heavy tactical stuff. In Bayern the 2nd season was where things broke down, but I think mostly for non-football reasons.
not sure about his ability to breakdown low blocks, with his teams very compact it plays into the hands of low blocks.. especially the type you see in the poem

The presenter should improve the hand movement situation. It is confusing seeing his arm on the left in the front view and the same one one the right in the top view. Also, a lot of visually distracting movement.
The decision was very very unpopular with the fans and came out of nowhere. if Bayern get kicked out of the CL now, it could very well be that the board is sacked by the members. As a member, I would. The elite clubs like Bayern, Real Madrid .and usually Barcelona are a meritocracy as much as they are about passion & love for the club. You have to love the club and perform at the highest level. One of the two isn't good enough. Nagelsmann did.
His approach is excellent as it makes players understand at a fundamental level so they can apply the basics to any situation. If you have a complex plan it needs everything to consistently work and, to use a famous military quote, the first casualty of any battle is your plan. This way the operate a principal rather than a specific plan which can fall apart as soon as the opposition react to it.
I think the point on Nagelsmann's sacking was missed entirely. The 2nd half was a desaster in both seasons at Bayern. Just look how they crashed out of the cup against Gladbach or against Sevilla and them losing a 9 points lead this spring. All indicators, CL against PSG aside, pointed to another crash and while the timing sure was bollocks, it's utter bullshit to point at the loss against Leverkusen and claim it was the sole reason. Also in this video the fact that Nagelsmann has no clear cut longterm system, caused frustration and confusion within the locker room as we know from Lewandowski himself. Him being flexible isnt always benefiting the team.
He's got balls, not afraid to make decisions, I give him that, but I wasn't impressed with his Bayern Team. Good coach for sure, but he has to prove that he's a great one first.
He’s not who everyone thinks he is. It’s like those players who aren’t acc good. Like the idea of Olise or Jude is better than reality. Simply ask Leipzig or Bayern fans. He’s pretty flawed. But hey he’s “young and attack minded”
My friends who are Bayern fans are upset that he got sacked despite having a great UCL run. Also if Leipzig fans don't like him then they're spoiled brats. Most teenagers are older than that club so for them to even qualify for Champions League let alone made it to the semifinal in 2020 is groundbreaking
Principles, philosophy, standards. This is just generic manager talk. It's the equivalent of 'the boys tried hard today'. Bit lazy here from Nagelsmann and Tito.
Patience is what big clubs dont have anymore.
Arsenal (I know they aren't as big as they were seasons ago... yet), seem to have a bit of patience.
Milan sit back and wait for 3-4 seasons before getting back to UCL
being patient with the right man is way to go
All clubs tbh
I think Chelsea showed patience to potter way more than he deserved it based on results
His biggest failure was being unable to score 8 against Barca. That's unacceptable for Bayern.

I have been watching your podcasts for so long now. I really enjoy them I was hoping that you could shoutout our podcast The Penalty Podcast in your next podcast. Keep up the good work and thanks for being a big part of my life right now
So his tactics wont work with spurs.
😂
true 😂
Nothing will work at Spuds
Lads, it's Tottenham
Even Pep's tactics wont work with spurs
Are there any good online courses where I can learn about football tactics?
just watch the analysts enthusiasts you will start developing the tactical sense and you will start thinking about your own tactics like I myself have been watching all the videos these enthusiasts post hence I learnt alot simply by understanding different coaches tactics and hence I also analyze them while am watching live football and everyone from my place where we watch football together adore me because when it goes to halftime I start breaking it to them and with the help of galaxy note 10 plus I even draw on them pictures 😂 even when the match ends after that I come on yt to check what these enthusiasts have found then be proud of it
Basically you gotta play Jumpers for Goalposts 3 brother.
Will teach you too much.
Meanwhile Tuchel still has a job after nearly bottling the Bundesliga, getting fuckin hammered by City in the UCL and now getting smoked by Leipzig in the Supercup.
Come to Liverpool bro. We need a coaching change
This VERY much sounds like perfection for a club with a year patience
2 years at least, 1st season to get used to the squad and 2nd to really get into heavy tactical stuff. In Bayern the 2nd season was where things broke down, but I think mostly for non-football reasons.
You say that but at every club he's managed (Granted it's only 3) he has hit the ground running.
Nice vid
Keep going bro
Where can I get that Bielsa shirt? 🙂
Could you please refer to RBL as "lawn ball sports Leipzig" please. :D
not sure about his ability to breakdown low blocks, with his teams very compact it plays into the hands of low blocks.. especially the type you see in the poem
Beautiful T shirt bro, he's a big one
Thanks for the vid
Please do a video on Luis Erinque🙏
I think his style is similar to Pep in how he wants his teams to control the match through possession and not just attack mindlessly
They are completely different
nope he's super rigid, opposite to pep - city have no positions really... Nagelmann likes set positions... very very inflexible. That's the red bull way - super organised.
@@joven_ Pep is super rigid lol...
@@infamouscfc793 Lmao Pep is the most flexible manager in Europe, WTF are you waffling about
@@joven_ No he isn't lol. The only reason you think he is is because you associate flexible with good so therefore Pep must be flexible... in reality he's one of the most rigid managers this decade.
Wow. He knows his football . Great video
Love that Bielsa shirt! Does anyone know, where I can get it? Thx!
Can you do a video on the new sensation Will Still manager of Reims!!
The presenter should improve the hand movement situation. It is confusing seeing his arm on the left in the front view and the same one one the right in the top view.
Also, a lot of visually distracting movement.
Jonathan Dog Mackenzie!
Came true lol
Great analysis..tifo
Amazing video
Tactically he's got it all, it's the men management that drags him down.
Why Bayern DOESN'T wants Julian Nagelsmann
I might be late but I just realised how much Jon looks like Luke Shaw.
Bayern sacking him has to be the dumbest footballing desicion I have ever seen.
Not dumber then chelsea sacking tuchel for Potter
@@cahillcowan2506 or appointing Lampard
If he goes to a PL team he's not gonna be able to play between the lines as much as this, pressing intensity is waaaay higher than bundesliga
Make a video on nagelsmann vs guardiola
2:28 Bayern has no owners.
Except Bohely of course... Mr. Know it all
His approach is excellent as it makes players understand at a fundamental level so they can apply the basics to any situation. If you have a complex plan it needs everything to consistently work and, to use a famous military quote, the first casualty of any battle is your plan. This way the operate a principal rather than a specific plan which can fall apart as soon as the opposition react to it.
You meant to say if he moves to ANOTHER elite club next... You missed the word another, which suggests that Bayern Munich aren't elite
The early description of his tactics sound very Wenger
Nevertheless Excellent analysis brother. Thank you.
Because he’s a good coach, okay done. 👍
We want julian nagelesman 💙💙💙💙 come on Chelsea
Didn’t get lost at the back 3 back 4 and back 5 systems bit at all
Broo madrid desparately needs him
Who knew how similar John and Bielsa looked.😂😂
I can´t understand why would anybody want him. He is the German Graham Potter.
Irish Guy, is that you?
He's the opposite of Potter. Young energetic laptop coach with balls.
He's got balls, not afraid to make decisions, I give him that, but I wasn't impressed with his Bayern Team. Good coach for sure, but he has to prove that he's a great one first.
Lol who's here because they are doing due diligence on Nagelsman for the United job 😂 🙋🏾♂️
Looks a Bayern's CF... Nagelsmann is a miracle worker!
Do one on luis enrike
Bielsa explaining to us perfectly 😁
It's luke Shaw without his wig with a bielsa shirt
He’s definitely not what Chelsea needs at this moment
I agree Chelsea need a character more than they need a tactician
Need a similar video for luis enrique
Bielsa shirt ftw!!!!
Alphonso DaviEs, not Davis. Let's all respect one of the best full backs in the world, thank you.
God bless
He would do well at tottenham with a good rebuild.
He will love Kovacic
if julian had little chances to get cl, tuchel got absolute 0.
Julian is too smart to join that dumpster fire. They literally fired his replacement.
Bayerns Treble hopes are over 🙃
I love bayern but they did Julian dirty, they deserve that L
The Bayern Board pulled the trigger too early. Losing Bundesliga makes the league more competitive & more broadcast money overall. Too soon.
Tuchel literally lost to Leeds and Southampton this season and people think he's some kind of messiah manager
"The manager everyone wants"?
Chelsea don't want him. Nor do Spurs.
Love 😍 that music on the background, it's like PORN football analysis
Two months on from this video and it seems NOBODY wants Naglesmann. Clubs have been interested, then walked away.
Lads, if there's any club that can take a good manager and prevent him from winning trophies, it's Tottenham.
Have the Chelsea owners seen this, someone please show them so they won't make the wrong decision.
Principles, philosophy, standards. This is just generic manager talk. It's the equivalent of 'the boys tried hard today'. Bit lazy here from Nagelsmann and Tito.
