- The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLB 35 AMG is the hottest version of Mercedes' GLB line, at least until the AMG 45 version shows up with the same powertrain as the GLA 45 AMG. It's no secret that small cars and hatchbacks are giving way to small SUVs, even in the luxury segments, so here we are with a low-slung two-box design meant to satisfy basic transportation needs as well as provide some driving enthusiasm. Saw one of these in the wild for the first time the other day. The two box design is where it’s at. Looks really good and even had a little bit of the Mini Countryman vibe. Makes the Mazda5 Turbo look like a bargain, even though it’s smaller.

Great video! I’m coming from a Golf R MK7.5 and Audi S3. How close does this beauty come to those? It appears to be just a fuller sized and grown up versions of those two, without sacrificing too much on handling and performance and comfort. Your thoughts? Thanks homie!
It's been a while, but I think the Golf and S3 would be more outright fun... but to get 85% of that fun with the versatility would be a worthy trade off. Then again, check out my S3 video from a few months back... I REALLY liked that car. I'd probably lean S3 myself, if I didn't need the space. Well, since I don't need AWD, I'd probably get an Integra Type S or Civic Type R, to be honest.

I wanna stay with Golf R but that infotainment system is crap! And no physical buttons like the S3. But S3 only comes in sedan. And the new Golf R MK8.5 with the return of buttons on the steering wheels likely won’t arrive until early 2025. So much to think about. Keep on bringing us great quality content homie! Cheers!

And still not sure about the reliability of the new benzes. Switched from Benzes to Lexus a few years back and now getting used to twice-a-year-oil-changes-and-that's-it kinda spending! Time will tell.

Thanks so much. Yes, I think the new Lexus NX will likely be a much "safer" choice for long term use, but this little GLB was a lot of vehicle in a smallish package. People shouldn't sleep on the new Buick Envision, either. It's a hell of a good small SUV in this space though a little less practical since it's more style over substance.
