I just want to say how amazing this video is and how much the last 12 videos have done for me. The videos, emails, and comments during the practice have altered me radically. I feel physically amazing! I’m a perfectionist and when I can’t get it perfect, my go to reaction is anger and self abuse. Today I just laughed at my little stumbles, realizing that I didn’t do the reverse triangle correctly on one side, and having to pause to fix my mat. I smiled and breathed through these things instead of feeling like a failure! For me, this is a big deal. Off of the mat, I began ruminating on a terrible event that had happened and what I wished I had done differently. It felt like it was happening all over again, that’s how much it had sucked me into that moment. Suddenly I realized what I was doing. Usually I would hate myself for letting it hurt me again. This time I forgave myself. As soon as I for gave myself, it was as if my creativity and problem-solving abilities heightened. I was able to suddenly realize that unconscious focus on the past won’t help me heal or solve problems, but a conscious focus on the situation with my eyes open to what I could have done differently, could help me. I was able to look at the situation and think about the boundaries that may have helped. Long comment I know, but I hope that it helps others see how much yoga could help. I also hope it shows yoga teachers like Emily know that they make an impact.
Thanks, Emily!!! Yoga is a great philosophy of life, helps us to breath before react, made us flexible and strong, and teaches us to stay calm in front of the storm. And it is a for all long life path. Namaste 🙏🙏🙏
In daily life - you just helped me realize that yoga has helped me in trigerring situations to respond with compassion, instead of reacting with anger.....or at least to LEARN in that direction. Love ya Emily 🙏
191021 I have been practicing daily yoga for over 2 years now. It has helped me through several lockdowns in France and in general through this terrible time. It has helped me to be nicer, calmer and more grateful for what I have, instead of focusing on the dark times we are living in. I am grateful for yoga and all the wonderful online people who have made my daily yoga possible. So, thank you, namaste.
