      Hurrem was the first Haseki in Ottoman Empire. The Haseki title was created by Sultan Suleiman l the Magnificent for Hurrem Sultan. She was the first slave concubine who was freed and first legally married. She was never became Valide because she died before Selim ll ascended the throne. Though she never become Valide but her power during her time was more than that of a Valide. Hurrem was known as the first concubine to break Ottoman empire rules and traditions of one son=one mother, first freed slave concubine, the first legally married by a Sultan, the first Haseki (Chief Consort, Empress) acted as the Sultan's adviser on state and political matters, who run the state when the sultan was on war campaigns, the first Haseki to communicate kings thru letters and discuss political matters only with her name and seal, the first haseki to sit with the Divan (council) statemen to discuss and deliberate with them the state and political issues. She was also the first haseki to organize the Sultanate of Women, who empowered women to help men in running the state, political or non political thru charity works. Which before her, women were just for households and inferior to men. During Sultan Suleiman's reign Hurrem partnered him in running the empire.

      @Native2015 2 года назад +1

      @@dianejohnson6686 in some parts of the world, they do practice this ritual. That was a different era and a completely different world back then. Muslims are supposed to be buried in the plainest of coffins with very few decorations. This is conducted by the senior team available at the time. This is done by the majority of Muslims because of its simplicity and respect because many predecessors have done so in the past. No matter how rich or poor any individual may be everyone will buried in the same manner of every Muslim that lived.
