I play the piano, although my piano is only 66 keys, i can play moonlight sonata 1st mov but with only one note on the left hand but I can play moonlight sonata 1st mov 2 notes in the left hand if i only have a bigger piano. I’m already practicing Fantasie Impromptu, still cant do 2 notes in the left hand in Moonlight sonata 1st mov. And yes, the person above me is right, it aint that easy, although its kinda true that its not that hard, it was still hard memorizing the notes you remember in MS mv 1, it aint easy, its also 6min, i cant blame you.
I love about 95% of the stuff you do, but I had a hard time with this one. Moonlight is one of only a few songs that carries with it so much gravitas that remixing or rearranging it takes away rather than adds to how epic the song is. I realize that this is a highly personal take. Also, keep doing what you're doing, my dude. Love your work.
Lvl 6. Doesn't ruin good classical music by not knowing how it actually sounds and adding bs so called epic moves to make it more epic and calling it epic.
Level 5 is just... wrong. 2nd movement reduced too a three second bridge. And throwing notes in there LvB didn't write, it's a pastiche. Not Epic. As a mathematician i can say it's the far side of the parabola and your "level six" is further away from the heavens and closer still to the mud
The modified movement sounds really nice, but the actual one sounds so much more sombre as a result of its destitute, isolated feeling encapsulated by playing barely any notes. Really good video, keep it up!
Dennis Tsishkevich I feel like the modified one is definitely harder and showcases the pianist’s skill better, but it loses some of the emotion communicated in the original

The first movement played right has this haunting waltz-like melody to it that you can sway to. I personally prefer the first movement played a touch slower than people tend to play -- it gives it that gentle, flowing feeling to the piece. The modifications sounded harsh and disjointed -- they didn't flow like the original score. The third movement is supposed to be this frenetic storm (hence the title "The Tempest"). The speed and energy was there, but the modifications made it feel disconnected and dissonant in places. While it should sound like a whirling, chaotic storm, it should also sound as if the storm has a natural continuous motion instead of abrupt changes midway through one of the surges.
I think that nobody can imagine how hard is to play this song, just if you're a pianist you will understand how hard is to play this song..you need weeks and hours per day to achieve that experience.

Yeah, adding all those extra notes in there changed the piece, especially the 3rd movement. There are just some pieces of music you don't fuck with and the 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata is one of them. It's already perfect and a masterpiece on it's own.
Level 5 adds a lot of unnecessary and supposedly epic parts into an already very well written piece. Adding little things for flavour is definitely ok to do but this is pretty much changing the entire feeling of the piece . Might as well have done a dubstep version. The level 4 actually felt better in my opinion.
Me (for last 10 years): Is happy that I can play 1st movement Level 2: "Discovered use of pedal, can actually play the 1st movement." Next Level: Mediocre Me (modern day): "Oh, so that means I'm garbage."
Level 6: Add's parts from torrent and CHopin and Beethoven appear in the video themselves to talk about you. Level 7: Yu're the official pianist of the LCC.
Some pieces arent meant to be «added on». You have amazing talent, but i believe this piece deserves a special kind of respect. Not to look down on you or your skill at all, i could never play this.
Level 6: so emotive it makes the audience cry tears of a sorrow they hadn't known they were carrying. I've been priveledged to hear such a performance.
I've started teaching my self how to play piano, but I'm sad that my piano/keyboard is from my school and pretty banged up so some keys are broken and don't allow me to play some songs, But I've learnt a bit of the 1st mvt of moonlight sonata, I really enjoy the mood of songs that are not too fast and really relaxing, and these videos inspire me to do better.
Well at this point in Beethoven’s career, he was losing his hearing, which meant he could hear, but it was hard to do so. This explains the loud, powering and intense characteristic of this piece.
Quote: "It's all about the math." I am not a musician, I can only try to appreciate music that touches me. I either feel something when I hear music, or I don't. Beethoven has always made me feel something, often deeply, emotionally. Math, more intellectually gifted voices than mine see the math in music. I see, and more importantly to me, feel the passion. Beethoven, to me, composed with passion throughout his career. More so after losing his hearing. Imagine losing one of the senses. That would make me express that gift with richer passion.
Dude, I just love the level 5, those transitions are lit and you added a new feeling for this already awesome masterpiece. Gotta say, you're a really nice pianist. Thanks for inspiring me to start playing piano.
Honestly I felt like going down an octave on every 3rd note on the left hand for movement 1 didn’t really capture the emotion that’s supposed to be there, it felt more like it was being done to show off skill and less actually adding to the song, still great job though
The first time I heard this play was in the video game "Jim Earthworm." This version is awesome! The coordination between the keys and the graphics gives pleasure and tranquility. Beautiful execution and arrangements.
yep. When an artist does things in an attempt to impress other artists rather than the general audience, it rarely turns out well. The great majority of listeners only care how it moves them, not how difficult it is to play. Not only that, if there's not an A to B comparison, the great majority of listeners won't even realize that something has been played in a more technically difficult manner. Not being able to take the general audience's POV into account is by no means the only weakness of artists, but it is the most prevelant.
It's exactly how I feel. Technically super great. Musically bad. I'm actually sorry for the Beethoven. I'm pretty sure he should have been desperate because people not feeling what he wanted to share...
OMG ARMYYYYYYYYYYY Do you by any chance know Namjeezus andhave any Hobi water??? Causseeee i kinda watched some bts ff with house of cards playing in the background lmao 😂😂😂😂😂🥺🥺😔
Also: pianist realizes that Beethoven is a much greater composer than they are and doesn't altar the original composition in an attempt to make it more "epic," an attempt which backfires and makes it sound childish. "Think it a vile habit to alter works of good composers, to omit parts of them, or to insert new-fashioned ornaments. This is the greatest insult you can offer to Art." - Robert Schumann
Max A omg. he is the chosen one. the messiah. it is said it could not be done. i am in shock and awe at your absolute supreme and paramount level of excelency
Yes! Why do people feel like in order to prove their skill they have to change the piece in some way? Level 5 is not Epic/Expert because it's no longer Moonlight Sonata. It's something else that has been modeled after Moonlight.

This must be the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.. It is magnificent..
Man, your girlfriend is so lucky

Level 5 adds a lot of unnecessary and supposedly epic parts into an already very well written piece. Adding little things for flavour is definitely ok to do but this is pretty much changing the entire feeling of the piece . Might as well have done a dubstep version. The level 4 actually felt better in my opinion.
Sorry Mr, I will consider your wishes... JESUS CHRIST WHO IS THIS KID VEINHETEIRO OR SOMETHING ;-;
Dubstep version... LOL JUST IMAGINE IT
I just can't listen to that part. Does he really think it is better than the original masterpiece?
@@sergeyandreev977 It exists.
I’m not sure that the modified version was meant to be a masterpiece, I think it was just meant to show virtuosity
I can tell how much work you put into your videos, please keep it up
Me (for last 10 years): Is happy that I can play 1st movement
Level 2: "Discovered use of pedal, can actually play the 1st movement."
Next Level: Mediocre
Me (modern day): "Oh, so that means I'm garbage."
😂
Dont worry me too...
It’s great and I enjoyed the modified version but I would still prefer the original, great video
I find it unfathomable that some can play piano so beautifully. How is this even possible? Absolutely mezmerizing!
Level 6:
Add's parts from torrent and CHopin and Beethoven appear in the video themselves to talk about you.
Level 7:
Yu're the official pianist of the LCC.
Level 8: CEO of Music
Transcription rather 😄

Level 10 You are the Piano
Level 50: Mafia boss
Some pieces arent meant to be «added on». You have amazing talent, but i believe this piece deserves a special kind of respect. Not to look down on you or your skill at all, i could never play this.
Level 6: actually playing the 2nd movement before the 3rd
hahahahah
i legit thought it was gonna turn into Torrent Etude at 3:05, those four notes got me. Would've been sick though
I THOUGHT THE SAME AHAHHAHAH
Samee hahahah🤣🤣
Lol same
I HEARD IT TOO! I am practicing that Etude and I thought that he was going into it!
Beethoven: if I had wanted to sound like that, I would wrote like that.
Me:*tries to play the piano*
Master Shifu:*There is now a level 0*
3:38: Franz Liszt enters the chat
Liszt would play this with one hand. 😉

More like Chopin revolutionary etude

2 years since you posted this and I am just now seeing this, you sir just made a subscriber out of me, very cool
You are amazing! You push me to get better in piano all the time. Thank you so much!
What?! I have no words for the epicness of the epic version. And no, “expert” doesn’t do it justice. Definitely EPIC.
BiG bRaiN: Plays 2nd movement
Level 6: turn sonata moonlight into still dre
Sounds like something Seth Everman would do
@@FlyingLine I don't think so
This just makes me question even more how a deaf guy could write this
Well at this point in Beethoven’s career, he was losing his hearing, which meant he could hear, but it was hard to do so. This explains the loud, powering and intense characteristic of this piece.
auditory memory
Friedchickenboi9 naw bro he was deaf deaf when writing this he just memorized the notes and keys
@@nicolasa4life maybe
Thanks for inspiring me to start playing piano.
not gonna lie, i rolled my eyes at the glissando at the end of the piece. the "expert" is too show-y for me.
Teresa Nguyen so did I ahah
Yeah, same
Nah, its *JAZZ*
The level of narcissism you would need to add “flavor” to one of the greatest pieces of music of all time is astounding 😂
@@bryanbryan6108 pretty sure he does it because it's fun or he thinks, to himself atleast, that it sounds better or more showy for a RUclips video..
Oh my goodness! I got literally chills from that expert level! That was AMAZING!!!
Honestly I felt like going down an octave on every 3rd note on the left hand for movement 1 didn’t really capture the emotion that’s supposed to be there, it felt more like it was being done to show off skill and less actually adding to the song, still great job though
"I bought all the piano, i have to use all the piano"
The first time I heard this play was in the video game "Jim Earthworm." This version is awesome! The coordination between the keys and the graphics gives pleasure and tranquility. Beautiful execution and arrangements.
The last level is amazing in terms of technique, but dude the arrangement sounds really bad to me..
@@S0ulinth3machin3 OH.............oh............
It's exactly how I feel. Technically super great. Musically bad. I'm actually sorry for the Beethoven. I'm pretty sure he should have been desperate because people not feeling what he wanted to share...
@@gaetanbayenay8730 yep, this dude sounds like he just wants to say "hey look how fast I am with my hands, disregard how I'm butchering your ears"

Ain’t that the truth.
I’m In that “noob” category and it blows my mind the way some people can move their fingers so smoothly over so many keys

Dude, on his Canon in D vid, you can see the Guitar Hero opening pattern for TTFAF on his right hand, swear to god. 🤣
Simply magnificent. The transition was truly Epic. Kudos!
Pro level: the pianist knows his worth and doesn't beg for likes
Also: pianist realizes that Beethoven is a much greater composer than they are and doesn't altar the original composition in an attempt to make it more "epic," an attempt which backfires and makes it sound childish.
"Think it a vile habit to alter works of good composers, to omit parts of them, or to insert new-fashioned ornaments. This is the greatest insult you can offer to Art." - Robert Schumann

@@moxa2130 dang, you beat me to it lol!
I'm gonna be the stickler here and say that the added notes were kinda ruining it.
Yes! Why do people feel like in order to prove their skill they have to change the piece in some way? Level 5 is not Epic/Expert because it's no longer Moonlight Sonata. It's something else that has been modeled after Moonlight.
It was kinda cringy lmao
agreed
i feel like he's just flexin' us but is a bad flex xd
Some times it’s to prove someone me skill but other times it is a way of making a piece of their own
