- uring the ongoing protests in Kenya's capital Nairobi, on Tuesday (July 2), a man dressed in civilian clothes was seen firing a handgun into the air, while another was also seen carrying a firearm passing the same direction after him.
The nationwide demonstrations signaled that President William Ruto had failed to appease a spontaneous youth protest movement, despite having abandoned plans for tax rises that triggered the unrest last week.

They are unidentified, however they were apparently able to get through the police lines with no issue. If they _really_ were just random people, the police here would have reacted much more violently. Especially when one of them was shooting right in front of the line.

Your reporting is flawed. Those are policemen. The opposition should also speak against destruction not just addressing the government.
