    Thank you - thank you - thank you!! This was great! I'm from Alaska and have limited experience with trains and subways, aside from the link train in Seattle - which is one track going up and down the city. We are going to be visiting DC; then travel to NYC on the train; be the tourists that are walking the streets and looking up all the time...; then head back to Alaska via JFK. ;-)

    There is a cheaper option and more useful if you are not going to Manhattan. Take e or f train to union turnpike station in queens, and then transfer to Q10 bus to jfk. Transfer is free and it is 24/7 unlike some other options.

      Hello, if you are traveling in the direction of NYC in might be a little crowded but traveling from NYC to JFk it shouldn't be too bad at all. Safe Travels!

      We made it! LIRR - almost empty at 0630 Outa Penn. Airtrain was a breeze too. Your video and info sure did help us a lot, thanks from 2 Aussies.

    Thank you for such a detailed video! I plan to take this same route next week. I will be buying our LIRR tickets through the app and was hoping to do the same for the Airtrain, but that I haven’t figured out. I saw something about an. OMNY card, but it doesn’t seem to be for someone just passing through…only need to use for this trip to the airport, I live down in Maryland. Can you tell me if we are able to buy an “Airtrain ticket only” ( with metro card purchase of course) at Moynihan? Research said Jamaica station kiosk are always super busy.

      Hi, They made it really easy now, you can just tap to pay for the Air-train atJamaica station; just tap with your credit card in your mobile wallet ( Apple-pay or Google wallet ) at the turnstile. I hope that helps and Safe Travels!

      @@yourtravelmoves Really?! Ok, I do have Apple Pay, so that’s perfect. The only thing though is I was going to pay for the 10 rides, for $25 because it’s cheaper than buying individually for two people, round trip. We will be taking the reverse trip back to Moynihan after our trip. So, I guess I’m back to my original question! Can I buy a 10 trip Airtrain ticket only at Moynihan before heading out to Jamaica Station? Thanks for the reply!

      @@sking3225 I found this, if that helps
      AirTrain JFK 10-Trip
      Cost: $26.50.
      These are good for 10 AirTrain JFK trips until midnight, 30 days from first use.
      You can buy these only at MetroCard Vending Machines in Howard Beach and Jamaica Air Train stations.

    Travel from Penn Station (LIRR) to JFK Airport with 2 check-in bags feasible?

    • @yourtravelmoves
      @yourtravelmoves  3 месяца назад

      Yeah sure it's possible, I have done it ( but it was 2 of us). 1st it depends on the time, during rush hours the trains can get pretty crowded; but still possible, 2nd there is a possibility that during the journey at one point you might need to walk some stairs ( elevator or escalator could be out of service ). Taxi or Uber/Lfyt would obviously be easier but that comes at a much higher price

    Approximately how long did it take from penn station to your terminal including walking time?

    • @yourtravelmoves
      @yourtravelmoves  14 дней назад +1

      Hello, this depends in many factors but on average Train from Penn to JFK ( 20 min ), walk to Jamaica Air Train ( 5 min ), Wait for Air Train ( 5-12 min ) Air Train Ride ( 8-15min depending which terminal you are going to ) So to sum up and with no maintenance issues 38min-52min. I hope this helps and Safe Travels!
