Nice video! Worth pointing out some changes since the filming of this video…LIRR CityTicket is capped at $7 peak times and $5 off peak (this is a ticket that you have the option to select and use the same day you buy as long as you travel in one continuous direction within NYC). Also, AirTrain JFK now takes OMNY/contactless cards meaning that you only have to pay the extra dollar for a new MetroCard if you don’t have your own contactless credit/debit card or an existing MetroCard. Thus, with the current AirTrain fare in effect this trip now (November 2023) only costs $15.25 at peak times and $13.25 most times.
@andreaantonelli1904 new york subway e train. It goes to Jamaica, where you take the air train to jfk airport. Just ask for subway map. It's free. Or use google maps.
Can you explain well the differences between peak e offpeak...for example I will catch the train from Jamaica station to Penn Station at about 4 pm and I will return 7 days later on Monday from Penn station to Jamaica station at about 3.00 pm....
The metrocard that comes out of the LIRR ticketing machine is a prepaid $25 metrocard. They could have bought one at the A/C/E 34th Street subway stop but that’s a bit of walking from the mezzanine at Moynihan train hall.

Thanks ....a question : at Jamaica station 4 people to Manhattan...which are the cheapest options with LIRR and return 7 days later?
@@andreaantonelli1904anytime besides peak travel (6AM-10AM towards Manhattan and 4PM-8PM leaving Manhattan on weekdays). All other times are off peak
Thank you for doing this video , very helpful
I haven’t been to Penn since they renovated. It looks amazing now!!
Just take the E train for 2.95 24 hours a day to Jamaica and then AirTran and that's it. E train also goes from Penn Station.
Sorry....What is the E train ? 😮

Isnt the E cheaper and more frequent?
thank you very much
Atsa a nice! Are you charged a fare for both L.I.R.R.? O'Hare's People mover has no fare!
Yes it is a different train system, if you take a regular MTA train it is only 2.95 but you still pay the Airtrain fare of 8.00 for a 5-8 min ride.
Just wondering would it have been easier to just purchase the metro card at the beginning? You still have to buy it for the airtrain.

I ment to say, L.I.R.R. and Airport Train?
yes, no reason to take LIRR it cost more just take regular train 2.95 + 8.00 air train.
Not easy with luggage. Take Uber and splurge
It's a fortune, though.
@@anneraso5621 about $100 from midtown Manhattan. Worth it
The UBER rate is $ 80-100 one way plus tip.
