I was in NYC last week and arrived at JFK’s terminal 4 from Toronto. However I took the AirTrain to Jamaica station where I transferred to the E line and took it to 42nd street. I found it to be an extremley fast ride!

@AlexGetsAroundTO That is the ultimate, best way. Tbh I think the A is the best if you want Downtown Brooklyn or Lower Manhattan first, but for Midtown fasho the Echo wins. 🙌

Better to take AirTrain to Jamaica and get on the E train, which usually runs express in Queens and gets to Manhattan in ~ 20 min. Much faster than the A train, which travels thru Queens and Brooklyn before reaching Manhattan.
Also the AirTrain fare reduction doesn’t have anything to do with congestion pricing. The fare is reduced only for the summer of 2024 while there’s a lot of construction happening at JFK that makes driving there difficult. The construction won’t be completed by the end of the summer so it wouldn’t surprise me if the reduction period is extended or after returning to normal after Labor Day, it’s reduced again at the holidays when travel peaks again and construction might be interrupted due to weather.
