- This classic fly holds a special place in Mikael's heart as one of his earliest favourites. The beautifully composed body reflects the artistry of the Victorian era. Its unique appearance, featuring a wing of golden pheasant tippet feathers, has been modernised with a tapered, soft swimming hair wing, delicately striped with a marker pen. Simple yet enchanting, this fly exudes a certain magic, particularly effective in water with a hint of colour and under a clouded sky.

I really enjoy the interpretation of the classic fly into the modern tube fly and the new materials. Very interesting & informative. Thank you for sharing!
A true artist behind the vise.
Cool fly Mikael and definitely one for the box .
Great job!
A classic reinvention
This is the original tied from davie mcphail
well I striped my first Durham Ranger hair wing back in the early eighties and wrote an article on it... Davie is an excellent tier and great guy I have not seen how and When he did it ... but the Pattern is for sure way older than both of us!
