  • We celebrate one year with our Pattern of the month series with one of the flies that over the years has given us most fish, and that in different rivers around the globe.
    Sierrakorva is Pahtakorvas a bit more colourful cousin, also this deadly fly originates from the mighty Alta. It’s been with us many years and is the choice when your river colours up a bit more. Or, like now, during cold spring conditions where both salmon and sea trout prefers a bit more colour to the fly. It’s a light fly - light in weight designed to fish deep where the current is slow and fish prefers the volume and motion from a perfectly tied drop formed fly.
    If you want to tie or fish your own Sierrakorva Classics, we offer you customized packs with fly tying materials and ready flies. Buy one-time packs, or better-join the subscription and get the packs delivered to you automatically every month at a beneficial price.

    One of the best fly from your arsenal for tea colour water. And one of the best fly for Numedalslågen.

    Beautiful fly. I can't wait to tie it, then fish it for king salmon here in Alaska.

    As a mainly trout angler and mostly trout flies I tye,i really do enjoy your video on fishing for salmon and your tying videos, just wandering if you do any brown trout or seatrout fishing and if you tye any trout flies.

    Another great film and great ideas for spring flies. Question: when you say you fish with shorter leaders, how short?

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  3 года назад +1

      Hi - i do fish down to approx. 2 feet 50-60cm and always short on any sinking line. The closer to the fish you get the fly the shorter leader for it not to be seen! Cheers & thanks!

    • @nilsek01
      @nilsek01 3 года назад +1

      @@frodinflies thank you for the quick answer 😀 been thinking the same way when going deep. Seen to many times that a long leader gives the fly the possibility to "float" way above the sinking tip and away from the fish

      Hi Andrey, This is a sample of our new reel series that will be out very shortly. We only do a small nummered edition of 100 reels in three sizes. I have been fishing, testing and showing them all of last year with great interest. We still have a few left, we prefer to sell them in series of the. three sizes with same number. they all come in a block leather case. We will very soon make them public, but take orders now. 3 reels numbered reels in a serie is 1800€ Just a few left:...

    Hi! Do you have those reels left? Looking good as always on your channel! What do you think about putting lot of weight to a fly like in weighted tubes? Does the big weight kill the swimming motion in bottom where is slow water on spring season compared to surface?

      Hi - yes a few series left... and yes again deep down there is not that much current to move a heavy fly!
