  • Despite the fact that Taylor Swift turned 34 in 2023, she is celebrating as though it were 2015.
According to Mashed, a multi-platform publication that covers cooking and cuisine, Google searches have increased by 3,950% in the last week due to the pop star's choice of birthday cake from renowned New York-based bakery business Milk Bar.
According to Mashed, search patterns for "milk bar cake" and "what is a milk bar cake" increased by 130% and 700%, respectively.
Along with the words "Birthday Girl of the year," Swift's cake also included a clear reference to Time's recent announcement that the pop sensation will be the 2023 Person of the Year after her historic tour and concert film.
"Taylor….does this mean we’re cake of the year?" The pop star's birthday pictures were shared on Instagram by the bakery brand. "Happy birthday to the queen!"
For those who don't know, Christina Tosi's Milk Bar originally opened at New York City's David Chang's Momofuku in 2008. Milk Bar, which is no longer officially associated with Momofuku, has expanded to over ten locations in the US.
As they say, it truly took off in the middle of the 2010s, when Swift was residing in New York City. Indeed, Swift claimed that Milk Bar's birthday cake was the greatest she had ever had in an interview with Vogue in 2016.
"It was so good that even Jay-Z raved about it," she stated during her interview with Vogue 73 Questions (2016).
Swift is such a lover of the cake that it appears her father shared the love of Milk Bars at Sunday's Patriots vs. Chiefs game. Shannen Moen posted a video on TikTok showing the pop star's father delivering the birthday cake to the apartment next door.
According to Moen, Swift's father Scott was "so kind."
She claims in an email that "he came over to our suite twice." "First he came and handed out Taylor Swift guitar picks, then the second time, (he) came over with the cake."
The 6-inch birthday cake costs $62 and the 10-inch version costs $140, plus delivery costs. Fans can arrange for local delivery or have the cake transported to their house.
Swift, who has previously declared herself to be a Millennial with pride, clearly catered to her generational pride when choosing her birthday cake. According to a well-known tweet:
@schlife wrote in a now-viral tweet, "When Taylor Swift tells you she loves being a millennial...BELIEVE HER...she had a milk bar cake at her birthday party... in the year 2023."
Swift appears to be accepting her role as an older millennial, flaws and all.
She concurred with Time during a recent interview when the publication stated that the star's "Eras Tour" made them think of the meme that reads, "Kill the part of you that cringes, don't kill the part of you that cringes."
    She said, "Yes!"
