Cassey, I'm truly saying this from the bottom of my heart, I'm truly happy for how far you have come with your channel and what you're doing. I've been following you for a while & you have truly made me love myself. I know that you hear this all the time, but you are a great inspiration & a kickass role model. Please don't stop what you're doing, & keep progressing with whatever life throws at you. You have taught us that when life hands you limes, you make key lime pie. lol Keep werkin it gurl!
Love your energy, whoever said you were dramatic is just boring. Do your drama girl ! I am making this pie, and I hope I have your energy when I taste it....Wish me luck
This is so awesome! Thanks for posting it! As an alternative (or in addition if you really want to go for it) to the shredded coconut (which sounds yummy) you could also use "whipped cream" made from coconut milk. In case anyone is interested: To make non-dairy whipped cream, open a can of coconut milk and remove only the solid part at the top (you can use the liquid in a smoothie, to cook rice, etc. -- no need to toss it). Just whip the cream from the coconut milk as you would regular cream and, if you want, add a touch of sweetener and a little vanilla extract or scrape in a vanilla bean. If you want the cream to hold its form, you can add something like agar agar.
I don't know why so many people say it doesn't taste good... I tried the receipe... thought it would be a catastrophy (I had very little faith in those ingredients...) and the moment I tried it... O-M-G!!! It was SO GOOD!!! Even my parents who always make fun of me because I normally really suck at baking where completely impressed! Thank you so much Cassey!
Man, I want whatever grocery store she has! Everything is so expensive here! Walnuts especially, would be about $5.00 for that 3/4cup... >_>; This looks yummy though!
I just made this but replaced tapioca flour with flaxseed meal and used pecans instead of walnuts. Didn't have medjool dates at hand but deglet dates worked fine. Topped it with sweetened coconut flakes a dollop of greek yogurt and it tasted great :) Thanks for the recipe, Cassey!
You have to try this!!! I made one for me and my family a few days ago and we ate it all, and I just made another tonight. Soooo good, you won't regret it
Should you have informed me two months ago I could lose fat without starving myself or counting calories every day, I wouldn't have believed you. Upon trying a lot of fat burning supplements and weight-loss systems, I was baffled because not a thing was working for me. And then my friend informed me about The Venus Factor. Whoa! That is certainly all I could say. If you wish to shed pounds, this is one way. I really love this system a lot, I wanted to share with you. badassbutton.com/20-Venus-Factor-357
I made this cake today and it was a bit more on the pricey side with the ingredients... but OMG! THIS IS SO DELICIOUS!!! I was very sceptical because I thought I didn't like avocados or any citrus cake. but this changed everything! thank you so much for this awesome recipe, cassey!!! xx
Tapioca is typically used as a thickening agent but does not have to be heated in order to thicken and it thickens better at cooler temperatures. I'd say you can use any other starch like cornstarch but I'm not sure if they can be consumed raw.
How it tastes may depend on what a person eats already. If they are used to eating like this it’s probably is really awesome but if the person lives on donuts well..😂😂
I finally made this! Used rice flour instead of tapioca flour, and I kind of eyeballed everything LOL. It was a success!! In my opinion, the best part is the crust!
You can buy them in clear containers with a red lid for I believe $9 or $10 at the real canadian superstore/the real atlantic superstore/loblaws. The grocery chain could be called something different in Toronto. They are found a bit past the produce area but are only sold during late spring-fall.
Avocados are $1.29ea where I live. And I'm a little blown away that your first time having key lime pie was so late in life. It's commendable, but blows this southern girl's mind.
Cassey! I tried this and it was amazzzzzzing!!! Omg i was very skeptical, but happily surprised. I didn't tell my dad the ingredients, and he loved it too! Thank you sooooooo much? Do you have any healthy summer cake recipes? I love you so much!
How do you not get sweaty and how does your face not get red after an intense workout ,Cassey??? I'm so amazed, well you have been doing workouts for alLONG time......
Agave Nector. Vegan and super sweet. I used it in Banana bread. I make mine Vegan, banana's, wheat flour (you can never tell the difference when you bake it), Agave Nectar, and Flaxseed w/ water (substitute for egg in baking recipes)
I think you can definitely substitute it with any nuts. I've tried cashew nuts and they work perfectly fine, in fact, raw vegans use a lot of cashew nuts in making "cheese" or "pie crust".
please please make a cookbook! your recipes really inspire me to eat clean and to cook! yeah i don't really cook but i want to start and your recipe videos are very motivating! a cookbook would get me going :)) love you cassey!!! xo
really really delicious! I followed the whole recipe but ended up doing sugar and lime to taste. Added allooottt of lime, and after I took it out of the freezer added even more lime ;) just make sure you have the feeling exactly as you'd like before putting it in the crust!
Cassey, that was fun!!! but i would put the crust up the sides and use lemon only because i have lemons!!! and maybe use chia seeds or arrowroot powder as a thickener 'cuz i have that on hand too!!! :)
Agave Nectar isn't artificial. I can't have any artificial sweeteners, it causes fibromyalgia like pain for me. I seem to be sensitive to it. I read somewhere about that and cut out all soda and artificial sweeteners and it's helped cut the pain a lot. Also, noticed less swelling after workouts in my leg where I broke my foot, since I stopped eating Stevia/Splenda and diet sodas.
Most of the ingredients are things you can buy in those individually or by weight. Things like stevia and tapioca are commonly used in other recipes so it's likely that you might already have them on hand if you do this kind of baking.
love the idea, great concept. the crust was amazingly good and simple... but i put starch instead of tapioca powder and... it tasted powdery... i don't know if it's the same with tapioca?
To get out the seed more effectively, hit the seed while in the avacado with a very sharp knife and then pull the seed off with your hands if it is loose, or with something that is rubber.
I live in Florida, and can get good sales (e.g., I got 2 large avocados for $3.00 at Publix, making each only $1.50)... This is one happy girl! I'm trying this recipe soon.

health/weight loss etc aside, I want to know how to get my handwriting as nice as that!
GO ON with vegan recipes, girl. You are very good with this :-)
I don't know why so many people say it doesn't taste good...

I am curious about the raw tapioca flour, does that not need to be cooked?
Super yum! Going to try this recipe. Thanks for the share!

I feel like becoming a more positive person whenever I watch old blogilates videos
What can I use to thicken the filling if I cant find tapioca flour or starch?
You can try some arrowroot powder or cornstarch:)
soaked chia seeds
You have to try this!!! I made one for me and my family a few days ago and we ate it all, and I just made another tonight. Soooo good, you won't regret it

Also, I loved that little "ow, ow, ow, ow" sound as you zested the limes. XD
I think you can definitely substitute it with any nuts. I've tried cashew nuts and they work perfectly fine, in fact, raw vegans use a lot of cashew nuts in making "cheese" or "pie crust".
This is actually a vegan/ clean desert recipe that I can see myself making and enjoying. Thanks for sharing.

Cassey, that was fun!!! but i would put the crust up the sides and use lemon only because i have lemons!!! and maybe use chia seeds or arrowroot powder as a thickener 'cuz i have that on hand too!!! :)
Thank you Cassie! I love the sound effects! You should try green stevia, it's not processed.
amazing idea!!! Only downside to me not trying this out is that the ingredients you used add up to a much much higher total at non-usa prices
one of my favorite TV (tasty vegan) channels, Thank you.

I think you can use corn starch for tapioca flour, since that's what I used and it came out all right.
I love your home, and you are just so much sweet in the way you explain everything. Such a possitive soul. :)
Most of the ingredients are things you can buy in those individually or by weight. Things like stevia and tapioca are commonly used in other recipes so it's likely that you might already have them on hand if you do this kind of baking.
LOVE YOUR DRESS CASEY!!!
thanks for this awesome recipe. love your cute outfits, trendy coats and fun dance moves
your handwriting is flawless
love the idea, great concept. the crust was amazingly good and simple... but i put starch instead of tapioca powder and... it tasted powdery... i don't know if it's the same with tapioca?

I've made it before and it is amazing. Very refreshing taste.

That dress is so cute! And im looking forward to trying this!
To get out the seed more effectively, hit the seed while in the avacado with a very sharp knife and then pull the seed off with your hands if it is loose, or with something that is rubber.
Thank you sooo much Cassey! This has literally become one of my favorite foods. I think I eat too much of it. Genius :D
i love how it is naturally green

Smores! That would be amazing! Thank you so much for making a vegan recipe! :)
yummmmm this looks so good! i've never tried key lime pie!
Hi Casey! Another GREAT recipe!! :) I was wondering, does the avocado gets brown if it's in the freezer? Thank you :)
Love how you edited the food processor sounds =) Thanks for saving those who were wearing earbuds/headphones! Will try this recipe sometime! =D
What a cute video...do you make these yourself?? I made this but modified the date part (allergic) and used dried cherries instead. It worked well!!
loving the sound effects
This looks so delicious, but I'm allergic to walnuts (and pecans). Could you substitute any nut into the recipe instead? Which would be best?
I live in Florida, and can get good sales (e.g., I got 2 large avocados for $3.00 at Publix, making each only $1.50)... This is one happy girl! I'm trying this recipe soon.
