Born in Netanya, Israel, Rabbi Yaron Reuven began his American Dream as a little boy, when his family immigrated to the United States. He went from a newspaper boy at the age of 10, to a well-known self-made Wall Street multimillionaire by the age of 23. During his time in Wall Street, he owned his own private brokerage firm, a hedge fund, and an international insurance agency. He was featured on CNBC, Bloomberg and Chinese NDTV due to his success in the financial industry.
At age 26 he faced a 7-year battle for his life when a simple surgery went wrong. From that moment his life would never be the same. This moment marked the start of a series of miraculous events and an exciting pursuit of truth, ultimately resulting in Rabbi Reuven renouncing his lofty position and success in Wall Street, after 16 years, to become a full-time KIRUV rabbi. His Teshuva story is sure to catch the heart of every listener.
Rabbi Reuven’s shiurim are in English and Hebrew. His classes are focused on spreading the truth and divinity of the Torah through MUSSAR, scientific proofs, and many other methods to reach each individual listener. Rabbi Reuven is the leading educator on the topic of wasting seed in the English language with over 30 hrs of content published online.
Rabbi Yaron Reuven is a proud member of the Igud HaRabbonim (The Rabbinical Alliance of America), a national rabbinic organization founded in 1942. Plz help I’m confused, I left xianity and I thought that the Satan was just like an angel doing what God programmed him to do but at like the 6:59 mark you said the he’ll be punished? So is the Satan an enemy of God in Judaism as well? Like Satan will be punished for leading us astray?

Now correct me if I am understanding this wrong - but G-d pays Satan to put pressure on us, tempting us to sin? So then, if I tempt someone to do evil then I must not be doing anything evil then... so why is being immodest sinful? What does it mean when we say G-d is good? Is He good because He is all powerful and we cannot even dare to challenge Him? Or is He good because He is good - wherefore whatever is ultimately evil for us to do G-d cannot do. So regarding the above problem of temptation, if G-d is good because he is good, and it is wrong for us to tempt our neighbors, then why is it not equally wrong for G-d to tempt us through Satan?
I’m not asking out of a place of self conceit, I’m just trying to dig deeper - I hope I don’t offend anyone by asking these questions on here. I’m just trying to better understand as all. 👍

Isaiah 45:7 - I form the light, and create darkness. I make peace, and create evil. I the LORD do all these things.

@@iamoneface3852 Absolutely, I am assuming personage to Satan. I would be interested to see arguments against that assumption... "Hashem said to the Satan, 'Did you set your heart to take note of my servant Job?'"Job 1:8 I guess I would be curious as to how we define personages... thinking about it now, I guess what we can ultimately say is that a person is one who is created in the image of G-d. Being that angels - at least based upon my current understanding - are not created in the image of G-d, Satan would not fall into this category. But then we are left with more questions as to what exactly does this term "image of G-d" tell us? Clearly a non-person can reason and hypothetically feel given the first chapter in Job. So what is a person or "the image of G-d" exactly?
Regarding immodesty, I think there is a way to side step that whole dilemma. Of course I am assuming that immodesty is wrong because it can cause another to lust. Yet immodesty could be wrong simply because one could say it degrades the image of G-d. For example, desire for physical intimacy - which is stimulated by tempting notions - is not sinful. Yet desires when manifested in thoughts which are intentional -stemming from the image of another, it is here that the corruption happens. For desire for intimacy is meant to draw two people together - that is two persons. Lust - intentional image driven desire - debases the image of G-d (a person) to a mere object for the fulfillment of that lust. So one's being tempted is not sinful.
And honestly after doing some more thinking about it, I don't think tempting someone - when it is actually tempting which is to say testing a person - is not entirely wrong. If I am trying to get something from someone, lets say sex for example, and I "tempt" them I am not really tempting them, I am seducing them which comes from a completely different intention. A person who tests the moral aptitude of another is not honestly trying to cause the person to sin but is rather presenting them with an option to do it. So my original question is a non-starter.

@@Dwight511 So then if one is to insist that G-d is still good given that verse, then we must conclude that one is still good even when one creates evil. So then we have to ask is there really any fundamental divide between good and evil?

The forces of impurity cannot make you do something wrong. All they can do is open a door. It is YOUR choice whether to walk through or turn back.

@@iamoneface3852 I need to study Hebrew so I can actually understand what is being said here - I’m assuming the Hebrew clarifies “the Satan” or “Satan”. Also knowing the manuscript traditions would be helpful too and cross comparing the oldest manuscripts to the newest ones. From my understanding the oldest manuscript we have of the Tanakh is the Greek Septuagint followed by the Dead Sea Scrolls, and then the Masoretic tradition.
