Knowing how based on Shakespeare plays this town was, I always felt the face paint was a hint to it being theatrical. Like you can remove it if its too much, but it makes sense with the placement. I WISH Sims 4 had this much attention to detail.

When I was a child, I thought that Summerdream family were the rulers of this town and created the drama between other families
I don’t think I ever played with the Summerdream household, maybe once or twice when I first got the game back many years ago. I preferred the Capps and Montys because of the drama between them it was entertaining to play as both families and cause more chaos😂
The Summerdreams have some drama, too. 😉
I never played with the premade Sims as a kid. I always made my own families and intermarried them to the premade families
i downloaded a fairy mod for these guys and i absolutely love how they look in my game with their wings and more fairy-esque aesthetic : ' )

As someone who's obsessed with A Midsummer Night's Dream AND The Sims....I literally don't think this could possibly be more up my alley. :)
Around the same time I was playing sims 2, I was puck in the school’s Shakespeare club performance of midsummer nights dream. I played this family a lot because of that

Summerdream has always been my favorite family since I first play sims 2. I don't know why but I feel really attached to puck. I freaking love playing him.
Can't wait for Langraab and Altho(or Alto?) lore videos. Hope this video will include possible connections of all Landgraabs (there are bunch of them everywhere) and also Alto(Altho?) from The Sims 3.
They were my favorites. I always ended up getting Puck and Juliette together although it didn't make any sense. But the weird thing is that they werent able to have babies

Titania has a crush on Bianca Monty, and Kent Capp has a crush on Oberon. It's a love quadrangle, kind of like what happens in Shakespeare's play. Interesting that Veronaville's timeline seems to take place before Pleasantview's.
It's a pity they didn't have a Lydsander and a Demetrius for Hermia Capp :-) Or at least have the storyline set up for her to have a first kiss with Mercutio from the rival family, while her Dad wants her to marry Puck, who she isn't interested in.
Hermia Capp, when adult, resembles Titania Summerdream a little (without the facepaint of course)
This was my absolute favourite family. I re-started and played them many many times.
In my Sims 2 I have all the expansions, so I made Titania into a super evil witch(green skin and all) and the story is that as the Fairy Queen, she wants to turn everyone into magical creatures and have them obey her. Oberon has gotten to know people in Veronaville and thinks that Titania's dreams of world domination are non-ethical and wants to make sure Titania doesn't do anything unstopabble. Titania puts a lovespell on Oberon so he will do what ever she wants and is planning to start her world dominance, at first by charming pass-byer NPC's. Puck realizes this and plans to stop her mother, but is unable to get witchpowers himself, since the witch who gave them to Titania believes that magic should only be practiced by women, she did grant magical powers to Bottom tho. With the help of Puck, Bottom was able to grow her power enough strong to break Oberon's lovecharm, the 3 then cornered Titania, planning to seize her power, but Titania teleported away, leaving Veronaville to move onto some other neighborhood to make her wishes of world dominance true. Oberon, Puck and Bottom then decided to keep living their life as normal sims, not mentioning anything about the magic behind their family to other sims in Veronaville, thinking it will cause more harm than good.

I know this game used this family to show adoption, but after they get married Titania naturally spins wants for a biological child. Feels like oversight. It's the same with my knowledge sims, in the premads families they spin wants and fears of meeting aliens, but in my sims they never ever get the want. I think my sim span that want for his wife to get abducted after I stargazed and got abducted. I just wish they'd have kept the wants system more specific to story telling, like the summerdreams
@Kieran Willis huh, are you sure your game isn’t corrupted or anything? I only played the Summerdreams like twice or three times but everytime after I get Titania and Oberon married, Titania always rolls the want time adopt a child, either immediately after getting married or later.
@@samantaraafat8526 nope it's not I've played on two different versions. When you first play her she has the pre set adopt want but if you get married and keep playing she has no need for the adoption want as they are a heterosexual couple - the sims is designed so that only gay couples want adopted children
Yeah and then when you get abducted they only get wants to either them or a relative to get abducted which takes 3 slots!!! My God

This was actually one of the first premade families I played when I started out with the sims franchise as a kiddo :D loved their laid back vibe ever since
Interestingly In my game tatania is by deafult bisexual/lesbian. Do other People have this too?
She's autonomously set to bisexual in my current world as well.....I miss the days when sims had a default preference

Oh man I almost forgot about them since they're rarely talked about, and it's been so long since I've played TS2, but they were probably my favorite family to play with! I actually very clearly remember their house setup, their party that I always caused mischief in, and generally just how much fun I had with them! I'm honestly not sure I ever knew about them being from Midsummer's Night Dream, but that kinda makes sense because at the time I only knew that story through an animated movie that made some very heavy changes to the story haha
I only played with them once because I wanted to read their bio.
As both a Shakespeare nerd and a huge fan of fairies, it makes me immensely happy that they added them in TS3 and actually made them fairies. I had no idea they were even in TS3, despite having most of the packs and playing it for years- but that's probably because I never liked the graphics of TS3 so I only played my created households that used CC 😂
Dude I played a little of sims 2 when I was little but sims 3 was my big game. A yes for so ago I got sims 2 and I lot of packs and I haven’t stopped playing everyone in Veronaville especially the summerdreams because the play is 👌👌👌

I played with them because they were the “neutral” family but I always removed their face paint as soon as possible
actually, i never played them because i found that household boring, i was more interested in the romeo and juliet drama, then i played myself and married sakura haruno

This was always my favorite family in this area.
I kinda like the face paint as it reminds me of how theatrical this family is, considering it is inspired on shakespeare. But honestly it kinda looks ridiculous lmao, I would prefer if they just made the face paint for their formal clothing, just so you don't have to see those weird looking faces everyday

I love your lore videos, I can’t wait for more, so I just start watching them over and over again
I screwed this family up so bad. When I started I made a sim and had her fall in love with first sim male that came over and it was Oberon. I liked his face paint and thought he was whimsical. The kicker was I also made her BFF with Titiana not knowing that I stole her husband for my sim. ROFL Well months later I read the game bios and I was like OMG what did I do. I never played with premade sims again.
I believe, if I remember correctly, the back yard of the Summerdreams home is all set up ready for the player to have a wedding and party. Either they are leaving it up to the player to marry them or not. But I believe Titana takes it badly if they don't marry. (like Cassandra Goth if Don jilts her at the alter) I married them since that seemed to be expected. Weren't Puck & Bottom their adopted children? Anyway, thanks for all the background, I love it & very appreciate your Lore videos.
Veronaville is my favourite town looks wise, it’s really detailed but I don’t like the premade families there I’ve never played with them 😅

All the Sims 3 counterparts of Sims 2 sims have much lighter skin for some reason. (the reason is probably racism/colorism let's be honest)
I know this is 2 years old but I want to mention that I've always made Bottom a Romance sim and pair her with both Beatrice and Benedick until one of them discovers the cheating lol (I do prefer Bottom to be with Beatrice tho)
Why are the sims in the sims 3 so white-washed compared to their sims 2 counterparts? Hmmm
I always notice this. Especially with bella goth. She started out pretty dark and now shes white in the sims 4 remake of her character.
