I can see she might have faced some hardship as woman in her workplace but I do not think this is anywhere close to most women face coming from much more underprivileged backgrounds in India..be it from a lower caste , lower income and semi urban or village area. Yes we are a patriarchal society and yes women do face terrible difficulties but this story is NOT one of those that can be displayed as 'woman finding her freedom '. Lets face it , she is extremely privileged when she started. Indian feminism these days have become all about this corporate friendly upper caste aspirations which is far far removed from realities of India. I see only upper caste upper middle class women trying to consolidate their position under the garb of feminism using this narrative and nothing much. It does not help women of India in general.

I have seen people who are more than enough rich but they keep their daughters inside the home all the time even though they have money they will send their daughters to a government school and sons to abroad or in some nice fancy schools and colleges.
People need to let go their old and stone age patriarchal values if they want to progress and the only solution is Education and Awareness.

My 2 cents - Imagine everything for which India as a country is known for in the world - Dirty, No Toilets, Corruption, Insufficient electricity in villages etc. That all was true, and is true to some extent. But here's a updated picture:
This new extreme right-wing leader (Modi) is hitting hard on each of those things. Almost like any dictator in a communist country. Now, it's debatable if his approach is ideal or not, but here are some facts for above few example areas:
    1. Dirtiness - The clean India campaign started is not just a PR stunt, but government is actually collecting little extra tax (cess) which goes ONLY and ONLY for the purpose of clean India.
    2. No toilets - when Modi took office, only 38% of India was having proper sanitation facilities. Today, that number is 95%+ coverage (government gave 98% number, but I'm being little conservative here). Meaning, even the remotest village has atleast 1 well-built toilet in there.
    3. Corruption - There is not a single proved case of corruption in last 5 years at central/national/federal government level. Granted with elections on hand, the opposition is making some noises around Rafael deal etc, but those are just allegation and not something convicted by courts, unlike previous governments.
    4. Insufficient electricity - This is perhaps the biggest achievement for this present government. Today, you cannot find a single city, town or village in India which doesn't have electricity. More than 13,000 of the last remaining villages without electricity are electrified at super fast rate.
    There you go....
Does it make India perfect? NO.
Does it bring India to a level to complete with China or US? NOOO
Can Modi bridge the gap which should have been filled decades ago and as a result we do not have to focus energy on basic issues - I'd be DAMMED if that's not the case.
