      Well, the simple reason for that is taxation. It's super easy to set up a company in Singapore and the corporate tax rate is quite low. It's surprising, but even Flipkart and GreyOrange are registered in Singapore :)

      Another major reason is FDI you aren't allowed to have FDI more than 49% in India so they hop on to Singapore

      Go and read about her in Wiki. What u mean? Bose is from India. She studied mathematics and economics at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Bose started her career working at McKinsey & Company and Sequoia Capital in Bangalore. In 2015 Bose left her position as an investment analyst at Sequoia Capital to launch her own company, Zilingo. Bose was only twenty three when she founded Zilingo, an e-commerce platform that offers B2B functionality. She moved to Singapore in 2016, where she developed the Zilingo software and supply chain capabilities. It’s Tech is run by co-founder Dhruv Kapoor and his 100-people team from Bengaluru, India.     From Singapore, this popped up on the newsfeed, maybe because I am dabbling in my own thing. I’m really impressed, and I think she has found a niche... there is a market for what she’s selling. Ultimately these companies last because of leadership and smart people - but I like her too! I’m very impressed ! Good work !

    A billion $ valuation can't happen alone on turnover for such a young firm. I'm curious to know who funded them and WHY. Also how did she get into IB with a simple BA, while there are CAs & CFAs struggling to make it to her position? Awesome story but these few things don't add up yet

      @@Wanderlust89 i dont think that is a great idea.... i think that she built a great brand and the fact that she had contacts and experience in the venture capital world is A HUGE ADVANTAGE!!, she got a lot of founding of bonky venture capitalists that need to put money in order to convince the next ones to keep putting money ( making the valuation bigger and bigger, maybe 15-30 times revenue ) and the company gets the chance to "blitszcale" spending millions in branding, marketing, operations and team. But is obviously not a business that could build a advantage without that venture money

    The reason for the high valuation is due to the e-commerce and VC games in South East Asia. After Zalora was acquired, there s no major fashion platform in this region, so there might be a chance for VCs to groom a platform and exit at a good price. People around me have never used this platform. And most ppl in relevant industry in Singapore only heard of her after they did PR for the funding round.
    But for those ppl comparing her with Elizabeth Holmes, that’s not possible. Theranos put people’s life at risk, ecommerce won’t.

    Indian entrepreneur developed a startup at Singapore, god knows how it would benefit India's ranking and it's economy. Rather it just supports the fact that India in not a good place for startups, moreover it invites others to leave the country for better investment and opportunities.
