      Very idiosyncratic for a crime thriller. The violence is particularly intense and lurid, and the line between the cops and the criminals is practically non-existent. I watch it every once in a while for the period detail and Walken’s quintessential performance here.

      He was also in jail with Eddie Murphy in Trading Places. Got killed by the machines in Maxium Overdrive. Was one of the assassins in Malcolm X. He was the FBI agent interviewing the burned Hungarian in The Usual Suspects. And he was Ali’s dad in Ali. He’s been in some legendary movies.

    I love how a potential Frank/Jimmy conflict was teased & then later resolved when the cops stormed the gang's hideout, leading to Frank fleeing, but not leaving Jimmy behind as he so easily could have.

    when i saw this movie in the '90s I liked it but I didn't realize how good it was, now I love it. And the supporting cast is one the most successful ever. There are the future Morpheus, Gus Frink, Horatio, Blade and Donny. Amazing.

    This was a solid performance by Christopher Walken. It's up there with "The Deer Hunter" which he won an Academy Award. Another great role for him was in a movie called "At Close Range" with Sean Penn. Madonna did the soundtrack which included the song "Live To Tell". A pair of brilliant performances by Chris and Sean.

      But the actions of the crew make it truthful since they didn’t forget him in jail or do the easy route and completely take over the business. They handled his enemies and had what looked a a few million in the suitcase and gifts they took from his dead enemies so it was definitely believable they had so much love for Frank to actually not want to see him locked up.

      Oreos hell yeah at least this movie had both black and white people working together on both sides of the law that's never the case in alot of movies especially gangster ones.
