The Laurence Fishboune character death leve me in awe by how raw and visceral it was

Thanks for watching. Yeah, its an incredible scene. All that wonderful back lit rain and the cries of pain echoing in that underpass, I love the build up to that moment. The fact he dies laughing truly shows his characters insanity, it is indeed a raw moment that is incredibly powerful. Thanks again.

This movie, Bad Lieutenant and New Rose Hotel are Masterpieces

Thanks for watching. I totally agree, New Rose Hotel is such an underrated film, so powerful. I recently read the William Gibson short story it was based on for the first and like Jack Finney's Body Snatchers I think Ferrara did a very excellent and respectful adaptation. Thanks again.

Glad to see someone else has seen New Rose Hotel - I wanted to watch it for years, being a huge fan of William Gibson, and when I finally got to see it I was not disappointed.

Watched this again for the first time in forever last year and was really surprised at how good it was, having only really remembered it as an over-the-top violent gangster film. I suppose when I first watched it I was perhaps too young to really appreciate it.

Thanks for watching. Yeah I agree it's a great film one of my favourites. If you haven't seen it yet check out Bad Lieutenant with Harvey Keitel, it's by the same filmmaker and just as great imo. Love Abel Ferrara's work. Thanks again for watching and sharing your comments.

    Stone Cold All Timer
Great video. Despite being hyper-realistic this film does feel like it is taking you inside a real world with the art direction / real locations and spot on casting
A bit of a shame Jimmy Jump isn’t featured more in mainstream pop culture as it’s one of the great performances

@@alanhouston5874 thanks for watching. Yeah Fishburn is great in the role, it has a great cast of people who would go on to success. It's my favourite of his movies that he's done I think. Fantastic actor.

I saw this film when it came out in Century City in a theater that was a few doors down from the old Playboy Club. They also made the 2nd Planet Of The Apes movie in that plaza. I don't remember seeing ads or commercials for the movie but I went to see it. I was blown away at how raw it was. At how gangster it was. I put it up there with Scarface

Thanks for watching, yeah its a great movie, so much atmosphere and attitude from the filmmakers and the actors. I agree its up there with the best like scarface. We've had so many others that tried to do something similar and were pretty good like, New Jack City but I always come back to the King. Thanks for sharing comments, much appreciated.
