All the comments about the expansion not fitting in the base box blows my mind. I guess there is room in there for additional cards (they probably planned to expand with cards only, and still can release small expansions like that if they want), but with all the components to the base game and expansion, the inserts of each box are a GOD SEND... I can't imagine managing this game without either... it's so well crafted for both. I bet there may be some small card-only expansions for those who just want to buy some new cards and stick them in the base box. Actually... it may be smart to do that with all the "extra" cards that come in this expansion, and keep ONLY the module cards in the 2nd box. I may do that...
I enjoy playing dice forge online with my mom and the physical version with my grandma. I like how the boards fit so nicely together. A lot of thought has been put into making this complicated game playable as a board game not just a video game. Thank you. We will try this online for free and probably buy it to go with out physical version!
You probably know this, but you do know that you just put the corner of the dice face that you're adding into one of the grooves and turn like a key, right? Do that key-turn motion, and it pops right out. I also included a small IKEA wrench in my box just so people could pop them out even faster. But either method is super quick. There's a video on youtube of someone doing the key-turn move. It's quick.
small paperclip works like a dream AS IS-just use the smaller of the two sides until you’ve played enough to ‘break yours in’....as for this insert problem...I only just started this video and it doesn’t look like much stuff. it looks plausible. I wonder if it fits with Mayday standard sleeves or no sleeves if that’s the problem-Or is it the board? I imagine I’ll watch and see....
I really like the main game, and I think this expansion looks great. But, I don't want to lug around 2 boxes when all the components could easily fit in the base game. And, it also seems like such a waste to toss the inserts. It's a problem with these fancy inserts. They're useful for storage, help with setup, and then they're useless if you want to get expansions in the core box.
Dice Forge is my 16th favorite game. I have considered this expansion, but it is a bit pricey. Costs more than some games. I definitely want it after this review, but will wait for a sale.
Wow dice tower, whoever does your music in your outro is fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this! Looks like a great pickup for a great game. Cheers!
Watched that entire review and couldn't figure out why it didn't receive a seal of excellence, while if you less enthusiastic about some board - you may choose the obe you like... Nevertheless, It looks awesome.

Out of curiosity... where do you play dice forge online?
Love the game, but I wish there was an easier way to snap the dice faces on, I spend far too much time taking faces on/off

I had that same problem but multiple plays fixed that. Now I have no problems.
I use little wooden craft sticks from Walmart. They are softer than plastic and fit in the groove perfect.
I use a LEGO pry bar (like one a LEGO person would carry) to change faces.

I really am bothered that I will need to keep two boxes. I wish they had it incorporated into one box.

VaultBoy I tossed my insert! None are safe in my house!

I wonder if they'll include this expansion in a future release of the base game.

Thanks for this review, our family loves this game. I will add it to our collection.
the first game is great, but after a few plays the cards got old, this game really needed an expansion
