Tom, I love you dude, but...... The guy wearing suspenders and a hat is complaining about the box cover with a character wearing suspenders and a hat!!!!! LOLOLOL :D
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the login password. I would love any help you can give me.
@@Aaackermann Oh, I definitely do, but at the same time, when I first saw the character Spongebob, before hearing of what it was, I had assumed he was a cheese. As Cartoon Cheese had almost always been swiss cheese in my childhood, as the holes were so iconic. Add in the Alps and the lederhosen, as well as the card that character has titled "Ledercheesen," it becomes abundantly clear.
Looks interesting. I like that there's a variety in the color cards and what they do similar to Quacks and their ingredients. I don't have any 'race' games and not sure which would be good for 2 or 3 players. This could be something to at down the line. There's so much I already invested in KS wise so this may be something I may trade for down the road.
The cover is what drew me in to this review and once I saw it up close I wanted to run away. Cheese with hairy legs in lederhosen? Such an odd idea, but the game does sound right up my alley.
I’ve got to say Tom, I disagree about the boxes. I creased them and folded them really well before I tried pushing them into the box, and that worked really well. And for a game with this many components, setup is really fast! I just pour the dice into my hand, and then turn it over and drop them on top. I hope this makes you feel better about them because I also enjoy this game a lot :)
This game makes me happy. I've always loved the dice bag building and dice/card gameplay variety of Quarriors, but I've always thought the actual thing you did with the dice was a bit of a bust. Adding a CCG element with Dice Masters made that worse not better for me. This game appears to have most of the stuff I like, only attached to a race game instead. I'm excited to get a copy and it's already on the christmas list.
This is the first game I've ever bought that I wasn't in love with the aesthetic... the mechanics more than make up fo it though, it's a blast to play.
Looks like a solid game! Definitely seeing some Quacks in there. I think I might add this one to my wishlist. John D Clair tends to hit them out of the park.
0:45 I was realy confused when you said 'german Spongebob' - i'm from germany and didn't know why you called it 'german'. I needed some time until i noticed - because of the pants! Those pants aren't german - this is typical bavarian. And everyone else will say: That's not german! (Bavarians are the weirdos here btw). It's like saying anything weird just people in Florida have is 'typical american' ;) Still a nice review. I have this game on my list since SPIEL.digital and wasn't sure about buying it. But i think i'll do so in some weeks - a little bit to expensive here at the moment.
Hi Miles! Nope, only the email that I guess you received as well, saying that the order would have been shortly fulfilled... exactly one week ago. Finger crossed, but I am afraid I will be able to play my new games only on 2021, also considering that in my case the games need to make their way down to Italy...
I dont know, when I first saw the cover, was I the only one that saw Sponge Bob? Granted there are no eyes but still. Game looks fun. Everything is a cube! Everything is awesome!
I love Automobiles, and switching the cubes for dice where you get to choose which ones you roll instead of just drawing them out of a bag for more control is very intersting (I like Quarriors too). But the theme and art choices for Cubitos really don't suit me. I'm too old for having fond memories of Spongebob, I've never played Minecraft, to me it's just plain silly and ugly (and lazy but no, not funny : too easy to be funny). I know it's a matter of taste, but I don't think I'd like watching at these for an entire game. Too bad.
Having the dice picked randomly and in a bag makes it more like a deckbuilder then be able to choose them. Also would have a lot more tension and less strategy.
Please make an attempt to briefly mention scaling in your reviews since some games are lackluster despite what the box advertises regarding player count.
Why is AEG always over-priced? This game retails for $60! For what? Some boards, cards, and custom dice? Don't tell me custom dice are expensive.....Dice Masters is a prime example. This game shouldn't be more than forty bucks.
Omg I so agree with tom them box storage. There look terable. Could of just used a simple set of felt bags. The mat is easy fix. Have a small divider walls.
Every once in a while, I see a game that I refuse to ever buy only because of how much I hate the box art. This is one of them. Yes, I’m shallow. Ugly, cheese cube that resembles Sponge Bob was an idiotic choice.
The cover, although well illustrated, doesn't tell you anything about the game. a cube of cheese in lederhosen... looking like swisscheese squarepants "captain morgan"-ing on some rocks in the alps... okay... it's a race game? with a weak cube theme (illustrations (again well illustrated) on cards hardly look like cubes). The art direction on this killed any potential interest for me.
@@marfin4325 Cubeland? They've created their own world? Everything is cubed shaped. Why does everything have to be 100% identifiable and relatable, I'm stumped as to how you would turn a game down for such a reason, you sound like a board game snob tbh. Just because you don't like the artwork, doesn't mean they got it wrong or should have put something generic in its place.

Maybe you need to look for different reviewers. This review is pretty consistent in style with all of the other Dice Tower reviews, if you are looking for a deep dive you need to look elsewhere. They review a lot of games so don't have time to go into great detail but are good for a 1000 foot view of the game.

The mechanics sounds great, but two things turn me off right away. 1. The theme is annoying as all hell, and is clearly targeted at 6yo girls. Side Note: I didn't know Milton Bradley was still designing games. 2. A RACE?? Really?? You couldn't think of a better way to implement this great combination of mechanics?? My only real negative for this game was assembling all those boxes with my arthritic fingers. The game itself is really fun.
