Had bikes for 20 years with no breakdowns I never cleaned that well. But it never hurts. I think the biggest point here is the inspection. That never gets skipped, even on a dirty bike.
Cody, The last time I replied to you, I didn't think you liked it - Thought I was prolly 'Banned'. - Like - I'm not.
Do you do maintenance on a dirty bike?
and because of dirt you cant see many things underneath
@@shanechepren8119 i can read ur comment so ur probably not banned
Cody, suggest you put your tools in a Ziplock freezer bag and then put them in the nylon pouch. No rust, no dust, no cleaning. Thanks for 13 years of great content.
I came across his bike build video and said how excellent that bike is set up. I have the exact same bike, same year, but it's a KTM (exact bike, Husky and KTM are). I've been in the industry building and riding bikes for over 20 years. Here we go again, this guy is spot on, this is exactly how a pro washes and takes care of his bike! I would love to ride with this amazing guy! It would be the FizzZ. Thanks Mr. Wranglerstar, great show...
Happy you aren’t running away afraid, stand tall brother. What you speak about, also be about. Keep going ❤
Thanks for the “older style diy” videos Mr. W
Keeping you moto clean keeps unknown problems easier to see. Your eyes and hands go over every inch.
Thanks again!
Painting the clip is very clever, i willdo that to my roadbike right noe. Thanks Cody!
OMG, this video guves me the fizz. I love cleaning my vehicles and knowing they look and operate great.
Absolutely spot on mate someone who actually takes the time to show you all the bits and bobs and what to actually use aswell 👍👍🇬🇧
Great to see someone that actually takes care of their bikes.... love it
One of the most dialed bikes I have ever seen. Nice job !! glad to see you are enjoying the finer points in life !! Greetings from Alberta Canada
"This is your Huckleberry" lol the humor always catches me off guard. Loved this one Cody.
I love Maxima stuff (especially the chain wax), but I've used Kerosene to clean my chains for years and had great results.
In a pinch, yes, but not great for o-ring chains on higher hp bikes
@@eriklambert3809 That’s what I’ve heard. I believe all cleaners are bad on rubber. Just have to make sure you use a good quality lube after cleaning.
Thanks for coming back
One other thing I do is grab the leaf blower and dry the bike off after getting it soaken wet. Then I just put velvet ropes around it and admire it after almost 2hrs of cleaning.
Everything was spot on. I just like to grease up those axles after every ride as well but not necessary. Great content, love these type of vids.
That's true, you notice problems a lot more when you wash a vehicle. I have seen some recommendations that say don't pressure wash the chain so you don't get water in the seals. Great job.
A new level of ocd cleaning and maint. Only way to get to 800hrs. Dirt bike yoda on point, well done!!!!!
literally just cleaned mine yesterday using your method and decided i'm buying the ProFilter disposable air filters. Never feel like I get the air filter clean enough and the brand new one with the bike (cleaned once) already had a couple small tears on it.
SC1 is the best thing since sliced bread. When I started riding I discovered it and I can't believe how long I lived without it lol.
Been using my cart for a catch-all...not anymore! Setting it up to be a practical service cart like that. Thanks for sharing.
I'm from upstate ny in the Catskill mountains population 2500 to 4000 depending on the time of year lots of city folks here on weekend and holidays. I've snowmobile mostly close to home but I can't imagine being 60 miles from the road sounds like heaven to me you are blessed for sure.
I learned a lot of great tips here. For my mountain bike maintenance also.
always love the riding / related videos! its wild you are almost up to 800 hours on that machine!
Throw away filters is genious. They need to make them cheap at $1 each and just cover the original air filter. I’m gonna make my own. Great idea. It just needs to have a thin layer of foam over the original foam and throw them away. Density of the foam has to be pretty close to the original so it doesn’t affect running performance
Great video, very well shot and edited. These time efficient high quality videos you do are so good I am obligated to share them with my friends.
Stay well
I’m HERE for it!
I already know how to clean a motorcycle, but I could a reminder to actually do it, and Cody knows a bunch that I don’t
Thanks, that chain cleaning part was really handy.
The SC1 is gold. Spray that in am ATV/UTV and it looks great.
If mudding or a wet day leave it.
Dry day, wipe it off and dust wint stick and cleaning up after is easy
That clutch lever is sweet.
Husqvarna is my dream bike. Great video
Great video. I had a Husky once but couldn't keep it clean due to the Georgia red dirt......east coast problems. Not an issue with the orange KTM's though. I'm definitely impressed with your bike looking that good at 800 hours.
Suggest a comprehensive maint video, how many top ends, tires, chains, sprockets, fork seals, batteries, clutches, no bottom end? What type of maint schedule for fork oil, grease, gear oil, type of premix (synthetic), what ratio 50 to 1? You seem to set a standard with quality care, more detail would be awesome.
Love the content Cody, it always reminds me of what my father teaches me. Always well put together videos as well, keep it up!
Awesome as always, I think I'm gonna start pulling my plastics at least every once in a while now and really detail the bike.
Something to add...make ya a PVC rack that holds your boots upside down, and you can spray them off/clean them at the same time. The rack hangs them upside down, so you can hit them without getting water into them.
Hehe, I missed the nametag when in-person. That's a cute touch.
The first rule of The Big ... 😏
Hi Mr W thanks for another great video. Im thankful for everything you teach us.
Thank. you,
Agree
Very nice. Looks like a project for my day off tomorrow! Haven't cleaned my Honda in 1200 miles... 😓
T-handels are a must!!! Especially on sportbikes with fairings. People never seem to take them off and clean. The amount of build up on most front sprockets is nutty.
Exceptional work. I like the convenience of the electric power washer.
Very nice huskies love to run and run best when properly maintained
Ha ha, just finished cleaning my '18 KTM 300 after a morning ride. I clean it after almost every ride, it looks like new too.
Good to see a well maintained piece of equipment.....nicely done sir.
Thats actully insane attention to detail!
I just watched a 13 min vid of a man cleaning a te300. And was sad it ended so soon. Nice eork
As someone who rides 3 or more times a week, I do wash and re oil my air filters. I don't recommend the pre oiled ones
Hi dude. Long term viewer and as things have come up, to show my support I've joined. God bless mate see you at the live later.
Take care of anything and it will last as long as you want it to last
Is anyone else having issues not getting notifications for new videos or livestreams? I have notifications set to all for this channel.
A tip from one moto guy to a proho: you can re-lube your chain with gear oil! 75w-90 works amazing, and a bottle of the stuff lasts a lot longer than those spray cans. Its not some crazy "lifehack" either, most motorcycle manuals up until now specified heavy gear oil for maintaining your chain
Anyone else seeing that RUclipsrs who lean right, you can't see the like button until playing the video?
This video had zero buttons until I started watching it.
Super satisfying to watch. Only bad thing is now I don't want to get her dirty! Lol😂
great job. one problem with lubing your chain. spray the lube on the inside of the chain. spraying it on the outside just lets it fling off.
Could you do a full review of your surefire backup torch if you have the time ? Really interested in one but would appreciate your opinion on it as a homestead pro ho edc torch !
You have to buff and polish to get the pro factory look. Thats what I was wanting to see is those tricks.Make it look new
Enjoy the bike videos mixed in 👍
Tyler Durden........thats Awesome
That master link safety should be in the inner side! That way it will not be exposed and hit a rock or something ❤
🙏4U all
Haircut looking great! That's coming from a barber
Great job, Cody! Good tips. I usually use kerosene to clean my chain and chain wax after I am finished, but I am riding mostly on tarmac. Who makes the disposable air filter? I would like to find one for my Versys 1000.
Cody, you've struck a chord, millions of us tune in. It was simply your turn, you get a following and the scum are coming for you. Never bend the knee my friend. Rolling Stone can go to hell. And yeah, nice clean bike.
Could you do a video on your on bike tool kit?
You barely spilled any gas, nice!
PROfessional Homeowner. 👌
Mother of all garage sales in 20 or 30 years.
Good stuff! Act accordingly 👍🏻💪🏻
I heard him say “this is a 2018 bike.” W/o batting an eye. I literally crapped myself when he said 12:50 “Looks pretty good for a 7 year old bike.” Ig my brain did not process how long ago 2018 was😂
Did bro really say that he replaces the air filter once a ride? Damn son, that's fancy money.
2:15 Fight Club reference
I don’t think I’ll even own a motorcycle but I found this video really interesting. Thank you for taking the time to share! Also…there’s a wranglerstar tee????
Man you threw away clean air filter. My 300XC Has 1100 hours and I only clean the air filter when it gets very dirty. But I like everything else you do.
Cody- where do I get those little blue spray can spray tube holders / keepers that attach to the cans to not lose them??
Great video. What is that chain slack checker tool? And where can we find them.?
Best lube for your chain is? Rear end gear oil for cars as tested by fortnine. Did you test your spokes?
Agreed. Checking for loose spokes is part of my inspection. True about the oil, but he mentioned he just wanted protection for the o-rings.
@@nobodynoone2500 yes
Give this man a thumbs up 👍
Keep up the good work bro
Thanks for the suggestions. How long do you take to wash it then?
Another great video
Impressive 👌👌
you'd probably have a mini stroke if you see my bike, i'm a proper philistine LMAO Awesome simple cleaning guide I might say, compact and easy to follow :D
Great job! Factory tank came an ugly Manila color. I would paint that tank probably silver to look like stainless steel. Add adhesion promoter first before your primer and then paint and clear coat. The bikes look so much better. I have 3 bikes and all 3 had an ugly black color and I painted them silver and they really looked great. That tank is only going to get uglier over time due to fuel stains inside
Are all the markings you have on your bike for types of oil and stuff permanent or just for video?
Permanent,
Good idea. Haven’t used many of those cleaning products over the years, but you recommend them?
Cody, toward the end I saw Sharpie writing on parts. Is that dates of change-up? Hrs? Part #'s?
They sell these electric spray bottle heads, so instead of getting a hand cramp while having to spray down a large area you could just hold the trigger down and get a much more even spray on everything
It’s meditation for me.
Yo! The dude from fight club worked on your shocks… be he’d never tell you he did
Whats that Spraycan elastic tube holder?
You didn't show so not sure if you did it but if you spread some grease on the mating surface of your air filter it seals up the connection real well.
Another great video , thank you.
Have you touched the engine at all top end rebuild or complete rebuild?
TY, Cody.
And. I am an Australian. Are you 'Right wing'. - Yes - But yer a Yank. I expect that. (My opinion ). - I have watched, Most of your posts since jus after you started (13? Yrs) Like your Honour, Your honesty and that your not afraid to be a human. I'm an old career soldier - So I can indicate this to you Sir. 'Salute, Sir'.
Need more trail riding videos
What foot pegs are you running??
Fastway,
I see you're giving a Pro-Motion to the MotionPros
Are you doing this protocol if you commute?
Love the video as always
Sir, I would argue that a quad/atv with a hitch ball is a much better all around shtf vehicle. I’ve got a Kawasaki prairie 700 and it’s the best thing ever. Snow plows, winches, tows, etc. let me know what you think? Maybe a video idea?
You no longer use Amsoil’s Mudslinger? You recommended it on a previous video and I found it works great.
