I made this recipe Friday night for Saturday, and it was wonderful! So flavorful, I used frozen spinach that I let defrost and used the boiled tofu method that I added to the sauce a few minutes before serving. I skipped on the coconut milk because we liked the flavor as it was, and surprisingly it was pretty creamy even without it. I didn't have any fresh cilantro but am sure that would have made it even tastier. The first time I made palak paneer, I actually had to use tofu because I couldn't find paneer and didn't know how to make my own, so it was accidentally vegan! I also coated my tofu in turmeric and lightly fried it in vegetable oil. Came out so good 👍🏽
I saw this recipe on the blog previously but it didn't appeal to me because it looked very pesto-esque and I am not a pesto person, but after watching this video today I decided to make it tonight. I used to be intimidated by tofu as well I will go to some restaurants and it would be cooked and it would be so spongy and soft but it has come a long way and there are so many tricks that change the texture when she boiled it it really does help the texture and is not spongy also people are freezing it and defrosting it to change the texture to
I love this recipe so much, i've made it 3 times in the last week. And my wife and two kids (6 and 8) also love it--it's hard to make something Indian that all 4 of us like equally for some reason--too spicy, too gingery, whatever...i go with the boiled tofu option, and i don't use any oil--doesn't need it. Really looking forward to cooking more of your recipes.

Hi Nisah. Thank you for the recipe. My question: if we're adding water when making the spinach sauce, why is it important to drain all the water from the blanched spinach?

I just cooked it. I thought i liked palak paneer (After what i get in restaurants here in Berlin Germany). But now this opened a new level of flavor and awesomeness and im so inmenselly grateful for this!!!!! Thanks! Never stop being authentic i love to watch your videos
I made this recipe today for my friends and we all loved it. it’s really tasty. I never had the non vegan version but I don’t think I am missing out on anything.
Tried this out tonight. SO good. I used half medium tofu and half firm tofu as I thought medium might be better, even if the recipe called for firm. I was halfway through making the spinach sauce when I realized that I surprisingly didn’t have any tofu - just tempeh!
It still worked and tasted delicious💚
Thank you for the great recipe!
I just made this tonight ~ and it was SCRUMPTIOUS !! Will be making it again soon! Thank you 😍💚💙💛
I really enjoy your recipes because you are using spices that I actually have at home. Most other Indian food recipes I tried have so many spices that you only need very little quantities of and I don't feel like buying all of that for the few times that I cook an Indian dish at home. I tried your lentil curry today and it was a success! I will try this palak paneer next. Excited how it'll turn out!
Who's first in line to buy your next cookbook? Me-that's who! Blown away by your red lentil curry last evening, only the first recipe I've tried but looking forward to making Palak Paneer and pretty much every other thing you've made on RUclips. You are an inspiration. Keep up the great work!
I cannot describe how far it exceeded my expectations. I've made around 6 of the main course recipes off your website and every time I'm blown away by how insanely good they are. They aren't "quick and simple" but they are all technically easy, and the outcome never ceases to impress me. Really appreciate your content and I think I'm going to go buy your cookbook right now ❤️
thank you for this lovely feedback! I am so happy it exceeded four expectations and that you have loved my recipes. I think that’s a perfect description of what I strive for with my recipes. Thank you!!
Omg the food looks great but can we talk about your outfit?!? You look AMAZING!
Ever since you put this on your insta story I have been making it weekly!! It is phenomenal and super meal prep friendly. Thank you!!
Yasss!! That looks so good. Totally making this for dinner. Thank you!!
So nice to hear that, Jason! happy cooking!
I made this tonight. It was my favourite Indian dish, and now it’s my favourite vegan dish. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe!! 🙏🏼❤️
I just came here to say, this recipe was fantastic! I’ve been trying to cut out butter, cheese and dairy in general so stumbling upon this was a delight. I got my mom into it as well so your recipe is taking over haha. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m looking forward to what else you come up with! Maybe a vegan butter chicken (unless you’ve done that) or other Indian/Pakistani dishes?
Hi there! So happy you loved this recipe and that your mom enjoyed it too :) That makes me so happy! I don't have a vegan butter chicken recipe (yet) but I do have a tofu tikka masala recipe in my cookbook that is SO good!
RainbowPlantLife I tried your daal tarka yesterday (again amazing) so I’ll add your tikka masala to my list for this week :) looking forward to more awesome creation from you! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Nisha! I took my 4 kids to pick up mallow, that grows around our house at this time of the year . I swapped 1/2 of the spinach in mallow and they loved it! Thank you so much for a wonderful recipe!
I love to watch you cook, the humour is great, thank you for brightening up my evening sweetie 💖💚🌱🌍
Aww I appreciate that so much. I am so happy I can brighten up your evening!
I didn't know about boiling tofu. I can't wait to try it out. I also like the suggestion to boil in plant-milk and cream. Thanks for the recipe, it looks amazing.
That sauce is so green! Love this dish but I haven’t been brave enough to try tofu ☺️
I do have a long term partner named Max!😭but he loves his greens juuust as much as I do🥰🥦🥒🥬🥗
Hahah I am working on my Max, slowly but surely!
Nissan you are so fun to watch and I love that it’s so real. Always wanted to try this dish. The only Indian food I’ve ever had was at a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was when I wasn’t vegan, can’t remember the dish, but I remember that the flavors were amazing. I can’t wait to try this.
I have to tell you, when you were talking to Alexa, my Alexa responded 😂 😂 😂 😂
Yet another fantastic recipe ! I missed this dish so much. So happy you made a delicious, vegan alternative! Thank you !
I'm so glad you enjoyed this recipe :) thank you for sharing!
Next "Wheat flour Halwa" It's Indian sweet dish you'll love it
Just made this for me and my family and it was amazing! Definitely one of my new go to recipes!
Hi Nisah. Thank you for the recipe. My question: if we're adding water when making the spinach sauce, why is it important to drain all the water from the blanched spinach?
You are too adorable. I just love your channel. I haven't been super happy with the Indian recipes but I don't even care, I still watch your recipes. You make me want to keep trying.
“It’s filthy” Lol that’s me every time I cook mature spinach
Your channel is awesome! My mind has been blown so many times with your tips and I'm usually pretty knowledgeable in the kitchen! Can't wait to try this!!
Your dance session when the blender was going was amazing 😂 and this looks sooooo good! Can’t wait to make it soon!
I tried this tonight and it was amazing. I’m going to try with vegan paneer and see the difference. By chance I found it at a local store which is crazy because South Africa is not the most vegan friendly ; you usually need to order online
I just made this and it was amazing! My girlfriend didn't believe there wasn't cream in it haha.
I'm so happy you both loved it, thanks for sharing!
not really
indian food loaded with creams, cheese and meats.
I would never have thought of boiling the tofu and it makes such a big difference for mapo tofu. Definitely going to give it a go, I used to love spinach paneer curry 🥬
8:37 Gawd, that head nod! :D HAHAHHA
Hahahaha that was hilarious
I just stumbled upon your channel and I love your humour mixed with the delicious recipes! Can’t wait to watch more 🙌
Yay! Thank you :) So happy you're enjoying the mix!
Max hasn't set Alexa to respond to his voice only has he 🤔
😂 not to my knowledge! I think she has a strong preference for him though lol
So good. Everyone liked it. Doubled the recipe and it is gone. So satisfying and flavorful.
Please keep the Indian recipes coming. I am a huge fan.
Hi Diane, I am so happy you loved it and so did your guests! I recommend trying my malai kofta or chana masala recipes next :)
awkward dancing
my favorite
😂
So I made this today! 3 months after you posted it lol but my husband hates the smell of curry and he thought he would never like Indian food. I made him this without telling him it was Indian and he LOVED it. He’s super picky too so I have to say this was a definite win
I'm so happy you and your husband loved this recipe and yay for getting him to venture into Indian food!
Nice recipe! Have a lovely day everyone :D
I just cooked it. I thought i liked palak paneer (After what i get in restaurants here in Berlin Germany). But now this opened a new level of flavor and awesomeness and im so inmenselly grateful for this!!!!! Thanks! Never stop being authentic i love to watch your videos
Awesome recipes, excellent explanations, sense of humor, great music, and healthy ... subscribed. Now to dig through the archives. Thank you.
I made this recipe today for my friends and we all loved it. it’s really tasty. I never had the non vegan version but I don’t think I am missing out on anything.
Just made this, added fresh spinach at the end, it was absolutely DELICIOUS
Just recently found you! Love your videos! Made this for dinner tonight! Delicious!!!! Thanks so much for your amazing recipes!
The green sauce is so pretty! And the dish looks delicious
Tried this out tonight. SO good. I used half medium tofu and half firm tofu as I thought medium might be better, even if the recipe called for firm. I think medium is better, and I assume it's closer to paneer. Paneer is a softer cheese kinda like mozzarella right? Anyway, yes, this is great!! So creamy.
You are so funny and chill and very talented!!!!!! I've missed this dish sooooo much!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Its my favourite too! Well, we use potatoes instead of paneer, ✂️ them into small pieces and deep fry... really tastes 😋
Oh my gosh. I’m 2 for 2 on your recipes and both home runs!!! Thank you so much!!!
Followed this recipe and instead of coconut oil I used olive oil and also added 1tbsp of honey to taste .
It was really good 🤎
That look soooo good Nisha! I definitely need to try this sometime! Spinach is one of my favorite veggies and I love Indian food so much!
Just found your channel and have been watching so many of your recipe videos - cant wait to try some of them!!!
Love your top!!!
I love Palak Paneer, I can't wait to try this version.
Made this dish for lunch and it was awesome!! I had never boiled tofu, and I liked the texture.
This the first video of yours I've watched and I've just subscribed. I can't wait to try this recipe!
Aww yay! Welcome to my channel :)
