I literally just got back from the range, trying this out. I couldn’t believe the results from just this one trip. Having that extra bit of time (which also helps me slow my swing down) and that larger arc, well I’m playing tomorrow and I hope I get the same results then, because this old guy striped a few!!
Timeless advice. I'd also like to add that while doing this let the right arm fold naturally so that you don't exaggerate this move and get disconnected, and also let the wrists hinge naturally too. Recap - Takeaway with left shoulder in a wide arc while allowing the right arm to fold and wrists to hinge.
@@rene6876 well, the hogan book says hands arms and shoulders; and, though there are a lot of things in the book that are not correct, it would be difficult to disagree. But, if we actively turn the shoulder the left shoulder joint can't extend in it's socket; and, the shoulder will put itself on a collision course with the chin. Extensor extension, in the left hand, is the key to building extension into the takeaway. That and pushing back with the left wrist joint. The waggle should build that into the takeaway.

LOL
Well, the left shoulder shouldn't start the backswing
It's different for everyone! But if u ask most professionals how they start the backswing they won't have an answer because they don't think about it
