    That reversed call hurt my soul. Years of defending my guy week after week and any time I was in a bar and someone asked me about my Cowboys swag. 2014 was THE year to silence all the critics. In Lambeau vs the NFL Golden Boy and MVP and he did everything he could to pull it off but they robbed him. No one remembers trailing 20-7 late in the playoff game the week before when Romo brought them back to win. No one remembers that Demarco Murray fumbled with nothing but green in front of him, or that the ball bounced into Randall Cobb's hands on a third down conversion in the first half of this game. They remember that Dez 'didn't' catch it and Romo and the Boys went home with an L. If that call is upheld, and Cowboys can't punch it in, or they do, and Rodgers pulls off a late game winning drive, fine. But to have it end that way and have it ripped from them was garbage.

      @@nickdarr7328 Give me a break with the "karma" argument. Pettigrew had a handful of face mask. There was also 8 minutes left not 4 and Stafford either turns it over, they miss a FG or settle for one. That non call had little to do with the ending. A huge break if you want but it wasn't a 3rd and long, or the conversion they needed to kneel on it after converting. They then muffed the punt anyway.

    • @nickdarr7328
      @nickdarr7328 Год назад

      @@keithratel6590 what really bothered me was on that final Romo drive Suh basically got tackled twice and nothing kills drives like holds. But for real it was the lions OC to blame. The lions score twice immediately and then do nothing that had made the lions successful all year. If that flag never got thrown it wouldn't have been such a big deal. But the refs picking up a flag to help the cowboys beat the lowly lions was a great narrative for all us cowboy haters. And for what it's worth I hate the Packers way more and was upset by that call. Especially since they rule it a catch to start. I like anything that hurts the Packers

    He was one of the most criminally under supported QB's in his time. Having a couple of pro bowlers on the team doesn't take away from the fact that the defense was consistently one of the worst in the game by the numbers and the offensive line was for the vast majority of his career a sieve. Pro bowl is a popularity contest in anyone thinking otherwise is a smooth brain. It's a shame that the offensive line only got good when he was already broken from years of taking a beating. And a lot of those big game losses came down to the fact that the defense couldn't stop a pop warner team.
    Saying he wasn't a great I think is subjective. especially when you consider the only reason most say he is not is the big games or the playoffs. Go look at some playoff performances of guys we consider to be great QBs like Warren moon and then tell me we are applying the same standard.

      Thank you. When he had just a little bit of talent around him, they looked great. He never had a good defense.. The man would throw 400+yards, 4 TDs, and then have to come back and win in the last minute.. More than often, he would win. (Look up the stats, most 4th qrtr comebacks of all time). Other times he would throw an INT (of course.. The Defense knows you have to pass. They know you have to hit the sidelines to save time) He shouldn't have to come back to win every other game in the 4th quarter.. Ugghhh..

It is obvious you take the time to extensive research on every players and topics. With you doing this story on Tony Romo, I'd like to see you do a profile on Danny White. I don't know if you do profiles on players from the 70s and 80s but his career is somewhat similar to Romo's career ( minus the injuries) as he couldn't win in conference championships but had a great stats. I think anyone who doesn't take the time to understand his story is missing out on a valuable lesson. Chances are most of us are not going to have a kid who is first round draft pick for a sports franchise. Tony Romo's story is one I would show to my kid, for grit, determination, belief in yourself and a work ethic that doesn't quit. Not to mention how to handle yourself as a professional when everything is going wrong around you. That's how he went from undrafted to one of the top QBs in the league for the biggest sports franchise in the country. He like many others prove that your draft pick does not speak to your ability, you put in the work and earn those stripes and when you get your shot, you make the most of it.
