Your diagnosis of the problem as Gase's rigidity is spot on. During Thursday night's debacle against the depleted Bronco defense, Vic Fangio all but sent out a telegram every time his defense was blitzing. His two inside linebackers moved up to the line of scrimmage just as the defense set, giving Darnold plenty of time to audible for a quick screen or slant pass. However, Gase doesn't use audibles or pre-snap motion, so the blitz that everyone knew was coming was never picked up and Darnold was left with a play that I'm sure he knew was doomed to failure. This is why the Bronco defense turned into the '85 Bears, sacking Darnold 6 times and hitting him on another 10 plays. Any mediocre coach would have made an adjustment. Instead, Gase stood like a statue on the sideline with his face buried in the playbook, ignoring his players on the sideline as well as the action on the field, while his starting QB sustained a shoulder injury.

The first NFL team i ever heard of when i was a kid like 20 years (im from Norway so we don't hear about it to often) was the Jets. I lived my life thinking they were a great team until a while ago when i actually got invested in the nfl.
    Biggest lie of my life.

D'antoni revolutionize offense twice in his career went to the Western Conference Finals twice and helped turn to really guards in all time great offensive machines that just so happened to win MVP's. These 2 things are not the same

Pretty insightful video. And yes we were 32nd again in offense. But so much has changed and there is so much to be encouraged about the 2021 Jets

It's almost as if just because your offense put up big numbers with maybe the greatest QB of all time doesn't mean you're automatically a "genius".
Yes, I know, crazy out-of-the-box thinking on my part.

It seems like Gase is convinced that he has a system that works because his system worked with Payton Manning (One of the greatest QBs of all time who was already well into his career). Because he saw this system work he is convinced it is a winning system and everyone else must be screwing it up. He doesn't realize that that system only worked because of the talent the Bronco's had on offense that year and that he needs to adapt to the talent he has/can get.

Jules Jules Hue Jackson just had a comically bad record there are a lot more comically incompetent head coaches when it comes to 1) pathetic blowout losses 2) locker room drama started by the coach.
Adam Gase, unlike Hue Jackson or even a guy like Richie Kotite, checks both boxes, a select club of both incompetence and immaturity that includes guys like Tom Cable and Ray Handley

As a Dolphin fan I honestly couldn’t agree more, Adam Gase is so full of himself and easily the worst head coach in football right now, but my question is why in the fuck would the Jets hire him in the first place???? I never understood it and always thought it was a terrible move from the start, I honestly see the Jets going 1-15 maybe they won’t win a game at all they could possibly go 0-16 but Adam Gase needs to get fired immediately, he completely ruined this team to the ground and honestly he doesn’t deserve to be in nfl head coach, he should be called the franchise ruiner since he’s already done it twice.
